âWhat are you doing?â Theresa snatched the knife from him. Armand raised his hands and dodged her, âIf there is a way to show you my love, I can show it with my life. I used to hurt youâ¦â
âStop it! Calm down!â Theresa interrupted him with a snap, âPut the knife down!â.
Armand looked at her and refused, âNo. I want to show you.â
âI donât need it!â Theresa panicked, fearing she would hurt herself, âPut the knife down. I believe you.â
âReally?â Armand pretended as if he didnât believe, but inside he was ecstatic. He could tell Theresa cared about him. If not, how could she be afraid heâd get hurt?
âTheresa,â Armand gave her a look and said earnestly, âIâm sorry.â
Theresa turned away and couldnât help but shed tears. Armand put down the knife and hugged her. He whispered in her ear, âPlease forgive me, Theresa. It was my fault.â
The more he spoke, the more fiercely Theresa cried. She didnât know what had happened. She was probably crying because of the hurt she had suffered or because of her misfortune.
When Armand saw her crying, his eyes couldnât help but redden. Since this woman had known him, she had suffered a lot and had had difficulties. Now, she had lost the right to be a mother.
Fate had treated her so cruelly!

He hugged her tighter: âTheresa, from now on, I will never make a mistake again.â
He wanted to prove his love to her through his practical actions.
He would not hurt her anymore.
âHave you made up your mind?â Theresa still wasnât sure, and she couldnât trust Armand either.
She believed Armand still loved her, but if they were together, they would have no children of their own for the rest of their lives.
In ancient times, that meant Armand would have no offspring.
âI wonât do surrogacy either.â It was probably too soon to make such a statement, but she needed to tell Armand that she had hit rock bottom.
If he couldnât accept her, he needed to let her go now.
âNeither can I. I wonât let any other woman bear my child but you.â Armand kissed her on the cheek, âPlease trust me.â
Theresa closed her eyes. âYou are my destiny,â she murmured.
Try as she might, she couldnât get rid of him at all.
She had always thought of herself as a strong woman. Until now she hadnât realized that she wasnât that strong.
After Armand learned the truth, his attitude finally erased the discomfort in her heart. She felt quite comforted.
It turned out that it would be more soothing to have two people share the burden than to bear it alone. When he told her the blunt truth, it wasnât as terrible as she had imagined, and it wasnât as hard to face either.
It was not as difficult as she had imagined. On the contrary, after telling the truth, she felt relaxed and calm.
Armand sat down on the couch as he hugged her, âSo, you want me to give up on you acting with Oscar?â
Theresa looked down silently, which implied acquiescence.
Armand let out a sigh, âI almost thought it was the truth. If I hadnât overheard your conversation today with Dolores, I might have lost you. From now on, whatever happens, please donât hide it from me, okay? Please try to trust me.â
Theresa was still silent. Her throat went dry. She feared that, if she spoke, she would only utter a broken voice.
Armand stroked her back, âIf you donât answer me, Iâll take it as acquiescence.â
âWhy did you fight with the others?â
Theresa glanced at the wounds on his face. She reached out and wanted to touch him, but feared it would hurt.
Armand pulled her hand and pressed it to his face, âBecause you didnât want me anymore, I didnât want to live anymore. So I purposely got into a fight with someone.â
Theresa was speechless.
In the next room, Dolores rested her cheeks, half lying on the couch, âI wonder how theyâre doing now.â
Matthew grabbed her hand and lifted her off the couch, âCome on. Iâll send you back to the hotel. Youâve done what you could do for them. Leave the rest for them to work out for themselves. Please donât worry about them anymore.â
Dolores got up with his help and asked, âArenât we going back to the villa?â
âNo. There are too many people, too much noise. You wonât sleep well. Letâs stay away for a few days.â Dolores looked at him and complained, âIâll be bored enough staying alone in the hotel.â
âIâll be with you,â Matthew whispered in her ear.
Dolores immediately dodged, âDonât you need to work? You have a big burden now. You need to raise a big family.â
Matthew laughed, âI can afford them.â
They booked a presidential suite on the top floor. Without Armand, Boyce wouldnât come brazenly to make mischief in his room at night.
Matthew thought he could be with Dolores after returning to the suite. However, when he reached the door, he found Tiana standing in the doorway. Seeing her, Matthew couldnât help but think of Charles. The smile on his face faded.
âHello, Tiana.â Dolores liked this girl a lot, as she was unassuming and kind.
Tiana trotted over and handed him a gift box in her arms, âHello, Dolores. This is a wedding gift for you.â
Dolores reached out to take it. She wondered what would be in the box, as it was very heavy. With a smile, she said, âThank you.â
âYou are welcome. Congratulations on your wedding. I must go now. Charles is waiting for me downstairs.â After that, Tiana trotted off.
Matthew glanced at the gift box in Doloresâ arms, feeling rather annoyed.
Charles was like a thorn in his heart.
Every time Charles showed up, Matthew remembered he had a bad intention. Even in the case of the gift sent by Tiana, Matthew wondered if it had been arranged by Charles.
When they entered the suite, Dolores noticed that the living room table was covered with gifts.
Matthew loosened his tie and said, âI asked them to put the gifts there.â
There were too many gifts, so he asked the waiters and waitresses to put them here for the time being. When Dolores was free, she could take a look; she could keep the ones she liked and leave the others alone.
Dolores nodded, sitting down on the couch. She began to open the box of gifts in her arms. Matthew wanted to go take a shower first. Seeing that, he froze, wondering what would be in the gift box sent by Tiana.
He thought he could find out if it was Tiana or Charles who had sent him the box about the gift inside.
