Dolores was too shocked to come to her senses for a while.

Noah introduced the girl to Dolores, “This is my girlfriend.”

Jeffery wanted to talk to Dolores, but didn’t know how to start. He tried to start a topic several times but finally, he stopped. As he hesitated, Oscar said, “Matthew, let’s toast.”

Matthew poured the liquor and they drank together. Oscar asked, “Are you drunk yet?”

He had been toasting different guests on the way to the table. Oscar had seen him continue to drink.

Since he didn’t drink red wine along with the liquor, Matthew could take it, “Do you want to have more shots?”.

Matthew poured him another glass of liquor.

Oscar said with a smile, “Of course. This is the wedding toast to Lola and You. How could one shot be enough?”.

After the second drink, Jeffery finally uttered one word: “Well…. Lola.”

He always wanted to find an opportunity to talk to Dolores. She was almost done eating, so he had to start the subject now. Otherwise it would be too late.

Dolores didn’t feel anything strange about being with Noah. However, she didn’t know how to get along with Jeffery. She pressed her lips together tightly.

Jeffery knew she hadn’t gotten used to him yet, so he didn’t ask her to call him uncle right away.

“I have a present for you.”

He pulled a gift box out of Marina’s purse and handed it to Dolores.

It was wrapped in a gift box, so Dolores didn’t know what it contained. After hesitating, she took it, “Thank you.”

“We’re family, aren’t we? Don’t worry.” Jeffery smiled with red-rimmed eyes. The older he got, the more he longed for family affection. He hoped his family could be reunited someday.

Dolores put the box in his lap, wondering what she could talk to him about.

“I am so glad to witness you and Matthew getting married. You must be happy. Matthew was able to forgive us for your sake. You can tell he cares a lot about you. You should treat him well.”

Dolores lowered her head and replied, “Yes, I know.” She didn’t want to show her reddened eyes to the others.

Once the banquet was over, Jayden helped them escort the guests out. Marina took the opportunity to say to Dolores, “Come to our house when you are free.”

She knew her husband well. Although Jeffery didn’t ask Dolores to visit him, she longed for him very much.

Dolores agreed and said yes.

Jessica was sent back home by one of Boyce’s subordinates. Before leaving, he told Dolores, “I can leave the hospital before you give birth. I can take care of you during recovery.”

Dolores hugged her and asked her to take care of herself.

After saying goodbye to her closest friends and family, Matthew asked Dolores if she was exhausted. She nodded.

“Then I’ll take care of Armand’s business next time.”

Dolores had forgotten about Armand. In haste, she shook her head, “Let’s do it today.”

Fearing Matthew would refuse, she added, “I’m fine. I’m just tired because my belly is getting bigger and bigger. I will always worry that Theresa’s issue can’t be resolved. I’ve promised her I wouldn’t tell Armand, but if Armand heard it for himself, I wouldn’t break the promise.”

He felt sorry for Armand. Besides, he could tell that Theresa still loved Armand, even if he behaved cruelly.

Matthew made up an excuse to ask Theresa to send Dolores back to the salon.

According to his plan, after going to the salon, Dolores would talk to Theresa. Then, Matthew would take Armand to the salon door, so he could listen in on the women’s conversation.
