âYes, it has come to this point. Itâs obviously irreparable, unless time can be turned back, or a miracle happens.â
âWhat do you think, what should we do now?â Emma glanced at Athena.
The Bailey Family seemed like a large family, but when something happened, only a few could lend a hand.
The children had not been raised together. Their bonds were not strong. The daughters were quite critical of their parents, so it was normal for them not to be close when something happened.
âMaisyâ¦â
âDonât think about it, didnât Maisy make it very clear the other day? We have to blame our parents when they donât want to help. If our parents gave them more attention and love, they wouldnât try so hard. In our parentsâ minds, the child is the most important thing. He is spoiled. He only knows how to get into trouble. Emma understood her sistersâ mindset: âWe have to prepare for the worst. If we can protect Declan, we will do our best to protect him.â
Athena thought the same thing, âLetâs go see Mom and discuss it with her.â Emma nodded.
At ten oâclock noon, as Dolores was getting ready to leave, Theresa asked, âAre you going to pick up Uncle?â
Dolores nodded, âHe just arrived, Iâm sure heâs not familiar with the environment here, Iâll go pick him up.â
âIâll go, you just tell me where the place is, when the time comes, weâll go directly.â
Dolores looked at her and asked again, âHave you really thought about it?â.
Theresa nodded, âYes.â
Dolores had no choice but to agree with her, âOkay. Itâs at the YD Restaurant which is not far from the company.â
Theresa smiled at her, âThe way youâre frowning isnât cute. Donât frown, Iâve thought about it and Iâll be responsible for my actions, so donât worry about me.â
Dolores reached out to hug her, âAs long as you feel comfortable.â
Indeed, she has a point, life doesnât pressure her, if being with her partner makes her feel stressed, itâs better to be a little more relaxed being apart.
After Theresa left, Dolores also left the villa and headed to the company to find Matthew.
However, Matthew was not in his office. He was in the reception room, talking to someone else. Although the commotion was great and the boss was paying close attention to him, he could not take it lightly. He had to make observations and keep a close eye on progress.
Dolores did not ask her secretary to brief her. She waited for him in her office.
When Matthew returned from his discussion, his secretary told him that Dolores had come in. He quickened his pace and entered the office. He pushed open the door and saw that Dolores was sitting in front of his desk, reading the documents he had on it.
In fact, she didnât understand much of the professional vocabulary. She was simply bored.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, she looked up and saw that it was him.
She asked, âAre you finished?â
Matthew closed the door and walked in, âYes. Why didnât you let the secretary inform me that you were here?â
âArenât you busy?â Dolores tried to get up, but Matthew held her shoulder to keep her from moving. Dolores laughed, âYou wonât let me get up, do you want me to sit in this seat?â
Matthew leaned on the edge of the desk, leaning his legs over, keeping a not too far distance from her, âItâs yours to begin with, isnât it?â
Over the New Year, Jayden had given all the shares to her two sons and had asked her to keep them. Now, she was the largest shareholder.
Dolores reached out and grabbed his tie, pulling him toward her. They looked at each other. She hooked her lips, smiled, and said mischievously, âSo now you work for me?â
Matthew looked down at her slender fingers encircling his tie, looking helpless as if he could do nothing against her. âIâm all yours, from now on you sit here and I serve you.â
Dolores smiled, but the smile soon disappeared. She didnât let go, however. Matthew was cooperative and merely bent down.
âWas it Armand who pestered you to ask Theresa out today?â She asked dejectedly.
Matthew reached out to touch her face. He used his fingers to smooth her frown, âWhatâs the matter, Theresa disagree?â
She shook her head, âNo. Do you still remember I once asked you that if I couldnât conceive, would you still love me?â
Matthew fluttered his eyelashes, it all made sense, he had guessed it when Dolores asked.
âThe miscarriage occurred during that explosion. Now sheâs unable to conceive. She wants to draw a line with Armand. Sheâs coming today, probably to make it clear with Armand.â
âActually, thereâs nothing wrong in this regard.
When itâs clear, everyone will calm down and go find the right person.
It canât be considered a bad choice, after all, itâs hard to restore a broken relationship, even if you try to fix it again, scars will still remain.
It is better to let it go.
Dolores tilted her head to look at him, âShall we talk to Armand, so he can prepare himself mentally?â.
She feared Armand would be embarrassed by then.
âYou leave him alone.â Matthew bent his body even lower and said in a warm voice, âAre you going to keep pulling on me like that?â
Only then did Dolores realize that she had pulled him all the way down and his tie had slipped out of his suit, let go and helped him fix his tie and shirt collar. âItâs about time, shall we go over there now?â
âYes,â Matthew replied.
He wanted to go first to buy some food for Dolores. He was afraid she would lose her appetite later.
âCome on.â Matthew put his arm around her waist.
