Where did he go?
Boyce turned around and left, he saw someone approaching him so he asked, âDid you see someone leave my office?â.
The person shook his head and said, âI havenât seen.â
He had nowhere to go, did he go back to the university?
As Boyce thought about that, he headed for the door with giant strides, almost colliding with Wendy who walked in.
âAre you in a hurry, where are you going?â Wendy was wearing a flowered dress, white sandals and open hair, she was wearing makeup and looked at him laughing.
Boyce replied, âNowhere.â
âSince you have nothing to do, why donât we have tea together, I want to talk to you.â She curved her lips, âLetâs find a place, or shall we stay in your office?â.
âWendy, I actually have somethingâ¦â
âDidnât you just say you donât have anything? Or are you trying to hide from me? Because of what happened at my house the other time?â
âNoâ¦â
âThen whatâs going on? Weâve known each other for so long, donât you understand me? Iâm here to apologize, I divorced Corey because he cheated on me, I have my opinions to men, thatâs why I always show a nasty face to everyone, these days I regretted a lot, I want to apologize to you in person.â
âNo need, itâs okay, I didnât take it to heart, I really have something to do, I have to go.â After Boyce said that, he nodded apologetically and quickly left.
âIâm here.â
Just as Boyce walked out the door, Jasmine called out to him.
She didnât leave, she just wanted to find someone to get more information about the situation, she wanted to take her mother with her to bury her, as she walked past the main department office, she heard Officer Miller talking to Boyce.
He even thought he wanted to be the person who could help Boyce, but he knew that even if he finished his career, he could not be the person who could do it. Even now that he already had a high position, he was such a good person, he should be able to improve himself.
He should marry a woman who was capable of helping him.
Boyce frowned, âWhere did you go?â
âI went to someone who was on the case, I got the information I needed, I want to bury her soon.â
Wendy smiled, âYou guys talk, I wonât bother you.â
At that moment she was back to being the person who seemed good-natured, but deep down she didnât think that at all.
But to save Boyceâs impression of her, she had to do that.
After she said it, she left.
The moment he turned his back on them, the smile on his face disappeared.
âIf you need my help, let me know.â said Boyce.
Jasmine shook her head, âThereâs nothing, Iâll take her home for the funeral.â
Boyce looked at her, âYou, are you okay?â.
She looked like she wasnât able to take it anymore before, why did she look fine now?
How could she be okay? It was just to hide it, she was always a strong person.
âPeople canât come back from the dead, I will have to do my best to live my life well, I think my mother wouldnât like to see me sad.â
âItâs good that you think so.â Boyce sighed, he was afraid she wouldnât be able to get out of there.
âBoyce.â Armand walked in, he saw Jasmine was there and smiled as he greeted her, âOh, Jasmine, youâre here too.â
âYou must have something to talk about, Iâm just leaving.â Jasmine nodded towards them, she turned to leave, she already had the explanation of the process, after she had everything done she could take the body home.
Armand slipped his arm around Boyceâs shoulder, âAre they fighting, why does she look upset? Her eyes are puffy too, have you mistreated her?â.
Boyce wouldnât listen to him, just looked at him, âWhat do you want?â.
Armand laughed, âNothing important.â
âSince you donât have anything, then leave.â Boyce headed towards his office, Armand followed, and curved his lips, âLook at you, forget about your best friend when you have a girl.â
Boyce didnât say anything, but he had a cold face, clearly not in the mood to argue with him, Armand tapped him with his shoulder gently, âAre you and Jasmine fightingâ¦?â
âAre you done?â Boyce interrupted him coldly.
Armand cursed inwardly, he really wasnât in a good mood, he didnât continue and said seriously, âIâm here for something.â
Boyce opened the door and asked, âWhatâs it about?â
âItâs⦠Matthew wants us to come to the villa, I think heâs inviting us to dinner.â Armand didnât give Boyce a glance.
He came to see Boyce because he wanted him to join the dinner at the villa, he was actually going to see Theresa, that was his goal.
But now that Boyce wasnât in a good mood, if he told him the truth, Boyce wouldnât want to go with him, so he had to tell a lie, saying that Matthew wanted them to go.
He couldnât find an excuse to go himself, he could only find someone to go with him.
Boyce didnât hesitate at all, and said, âUnderstood.â
Armand didnât act strange, he picked up a glass and poured himself some water, âItâs already four oâclock, Iâll wait for you here for a while, then we can go together.â
He took the water and lay down on the couch.
Boyce put the briefcase down in his hand and looked at Armand, âIf you have time, why donât you go to the villa first, Theresa lives there.â
Armand spoke up big, âIâm not like you, I donât put women before my friends, Iâm a good person.â
âIf all the good people disappeared in this world then it would be your turn to call you a good person.â Boyce seemed to have seen right through him, âYouâre afraid of Theresa, arenât you?â.
Armand was determined, âWhy would I be afraid of her?â
Even if it were true, he couldnât admit it, otherwise they wouldnât take him seriously anymore.
He couldnât lose his masculine face in front of his brothers.
Boyce had already guessed him, âGo ahead then.â
Armand pretended not to hear him, put his feet up on the table and wiggled.
By the time five oâclock rolled around, Armand couldnât sit still, he was hurrying Boyce to finish his work. âItâs time to go.â
Boyce was pulled out of the office by Armand.
âWeâre going to drive the same car.â Armand pulled Boyce toward his car.
Boyce tugged on his arm, âWhy are you in such a hurry?â
âIâm hungry.â Armand said randomly.
They drove the car to the villa, by this time, Matthew had just arrived home with the two kids, Dolores was sitting with the kids on the couch eating watermelon, Matthew was covered in sweat and went to take a shower.
âMommy, look what we got.â Amanda was showing off, âWe went to the amusement part at the mall, there are so many things to play with, we went through them all, it was so much fun.â
Dolores popped another few pieces of watermelon in her mouth, âIs that why you got home so late?â
âYes, I want to go again.â Amanda was already looking forward to the next time, she grabbed the stuffed animal and wouldnât let go anymore, she even tossed Cotton aside.
Andrew looked at his sister, âHow much was the doll you took out of the machine?â.
Amanda looked as if he stepped on her toes, she suddenly became furious, âWhat do you care how much money it was, I didnât use your money, dad said as long as Iâm happy itâs fine. Why do you want to tell mom how much money I spent, donât you need money to race cars too?â
âWe are different, when I go car racing, I lose the money at first, but then I get it back, but you, you, you used about $150 to get a doll, each time it takes only one coin, how many times did you play to spend a thousand? Basically it means this doll cost $150.â
Dolores turned to give her a look at the doll in her daughterâs arms, it was just a normal furry doll, it might only cost about 10 or 15 in a toy store, but she spent $150 to get it out of the machine?
