Matthew pretended he hadnât heard her and slept on as he hugged her.
Dolores frowned, âI really want to take a picture of you looking like a cad and show it to your company staff.â
Matthew walked over to her and said in a husky voice like someone who just woke up, âDo you want me to take my clothes off so you can take a picture of me?â
Dolores was speechless.
The word âscoundrelâ could no longer describe him.
âStop teasing me, I really have to get up.â Dolores said seriously, âIâm going downstairs to see if Armand was drunk all night last night. Iâm not sure if Theresa is still asleep.â
Previously, Theresa had seemed pretty steady. But yesterday, it seemed that she wasnât as ruthless as she looked when confronted with Armand.
She sighed as she wondered how she could help them both be okay.
âWhat are you sighing for?â Matthew lifted his head and looked at her. The day had just dawned and it wasnât good to sigh first thing in the morning.
âI wonder if thereâs something on Theresaâs mind that she hasnât told me. She doesnât seem to have completely given up hope on Armand. Hey⦠What are you doing!â She was saying something when Matthew actually bit her.
âCan you stop thinking about other peopleâs business all the time?â Matthew was no longer sleepy and reached out to stroke her stomach, âFor our babyâs sake you should worry less.â
Dolores lifted her shirt and looked at her waist. Fortunately, there were no marks left. Matthew pinched her cheek, âI have a sense of proportion.â
âI thought youâ¦never mind. Get up.â She lifted the blanket and got off the bed. Matthew sat still, âWhat do you mean now, you want to scold me?â
She put on her slippers and went to the closet to find the clothes she wanted to wear today. She said without looking back, âWell, I mean you are very childish.â
Matthew turned his back to her. He cupped his chin as he admired his wifeâs delicate body which was very slender despite being pregnant. She wore a camisole nightgown with white and off-white arms uncovered. Her long black hair was spread out at the back of her head, but it didnât look messy even though she hadnât combed it yet.
He told Dolores that Jayden would be back from White City in the next few days. He was due back for his wedding as he was also missing the kids.
Dolores asked him if Kevin was coming.
Matthew said he would be coming.
âThatâs good. Let him stay here in the future too. He is older now and has no one around him. We will take care of him in the future.â Dolores pulled out the clothes she was going to wear today and looked back at him, âDo you really want to have the wedding?â
Matthew nodded, âIâve already chosen the venue. You donât have to do anything. Iâll arrange everything.â
Dolores could only nod, âIâll have to invite my uncle to come at that time.â
Matthew got off the bed. He walked over to her and hugged her, âWeâll invite whoever you want.â
Dolores pushed him away, âIâm going to wash up.â
Matthew kissed her cheek, âGo ahead.â
He changed clothes after washing up. He couldnât go downstairs in his pajamas because there were outside people in the house. He came out after dressing neatly. As he passed the checkroom and saw Matthew fixing the sleeves of his shirt, he went in and took a look at the color of his pants. Then he picked up a suitable tie, âLet me help you.â
She walked over to him and pulled up the collar of his shirt to insert the tie. Then she folded it down and tied a gentle tie knot. Matthew lowered his head and looked at her with a serious expression. He said, âYour daughter complained about me not escorting her.â
Dolores looked at him and asked, âWhen?â
âYesterday.â He reached out to caress his wifeâs belly, âIâd like her to be born soon. Then we can go on our honeymoon after the wedding.â
Dolores also lowered her head and looked at her big belly, âForget about the honeymoon. You should spend more time with the two children if you are free.â
She had already given birth to two children and now she was still pregnant. She wasnât looking forward to getting married. After all, they had already been married for a lifetime.
âIâm actually very young, but I feel like a middle-aged person.â She laughed and made fun of herself.
Matthew was disgusted by this comment and reached up to lift her chin, âWell, what nonsense are you talking about?â
Dolores pushed his hand away and turned around to grab her suit, âCome and put it on.â
She reached into her sleeves as she remembered the nonsense her daughter had said. She said, âWhat has the child been watching at home every day?â
âSchool hasnât started yet. She doesnât go to preschool anymore since you came back. Except for taking Cotton, she hardly goes out. She only watches TV at home.â Dolores straightened her shirt collar and raised her head to ask, âWhat did he say?â
âThat he watches less TV in the future. Itâs not beneficial. I see sheâs quite interested in drawing, why donât you go and sign her up for a drawing class.â Her brain ached every time she thought about what her daughter had said.
Dolores said, âIâll consider it. Iâm going downstairs now.â
Matthew replied, âSure.â
Everyone downstairs was already awake. Even Amanda, who wanted to continue sleeping, was awakened by Coral.
Dolores came down just as Armand was about to go home.
âHave breakfast before you go,â Dolores called and stopped him.
Armand stood in the doorway, âI caused you trouble last night.â
âNothing troublesome, just that you have to drink less as it is not good for your health,â Dolores said fondly as having too much alcohol was not healthy.
Armand lowered his head, âIâll keep that in mind in the future.â
âCome in and have breakfast before you go.â Dolores asked Lucy, âIs breakfast ready?â.
âBreakfast is ready, do you want to eat now?â
âWell, serve it then.â She let Armand in, âIâll go see if Theresa is awake.â
He walked over and knocked on Theresaâs bedroom door. Theresa was already awake and also well dressed. She put on her makeup as she was afraid her dark circles under her eyes would show.
Dolores came over and answered her, âYou were up so early, didnât you sleep well tonight?â
âI slept well, otherwise I wouldnât be able to get up so early,â Theresa said as she smiled.
Dolores said nothing. It wasnât good to ask her anything first thing in the morning.
Lucy served breakfast at the table. She helped Theresa sit in the chair in front of the dining room table. She asked when she saw that Armand had not yet arrived, âWhy donât you come in, arenât you hungry?â
âI havenât changed my clothes and I still seem to have the smell of alcohol.â
Armand couldnât stand the smell and was afraid of being smelled.
âWe donât care.â Amanda grabbed his hand, âHurry inside and eat.â Armand followed the girl to the dining room table.
Amanda lifted her head and looked at Theresa, âRenee, do you dislike Armand?â
Armand instinctively raised his head and glanced at Theresa.
