“I’ll walk you down,” Dolores walked down the stairs.

She took a fruit out of the fridge and washed it. Then Dolores cut it up and put it on a plate. She took it out to the table and sat down next to Theresa. Dolores glanced at the scabbed wound on Theresa’s foot, “It’s healing.”

Theresa said, “I’m going to die of boredom if it’s not healing.”

“I don’t think you’re idle either,” Dolores handed Theresa a piece of cantaloupe with a fork, “How many orders has Uncle placed lately?”

It was not a proper way to close the store for a long time because they would lose their customers after a long time.

The drop in popularity was a natural thing after the show. The store was closed for a long time, and it was normal for customers to forget about the store. So Dolores thought of a solution. They opened the online business during the period when they could not return to C-Town.

They could design the style of dress the customer wanted according to her request. Then they could pass the drawing to Oscar, and he would send the embroiderers and turners to make the dresses.

“Now we have three or four orders,” Theresa said as she ate the fruit, “I can handle myself. I drew two sketches of the design when I was free last time.

Then I showed them to two customers, and they happened to like it. So now I have two orders left. To tell you the truth, it’s a good idea. Now that we’ve solved the store’s standstill, we can keep our customers. Besides, I would be very bored if I stayed at home all the time. So, this really is killing two birds with one stone.”

She turned to look at Dolores, “Isn’t Matthew back by noon, where is he, didn’t he accompany you? By rights, he shouldn’t have time to accompany me.”

Dolores looked a little uncomfortable and avoided Theresa’s gaze with the action of eating fruit. She said casually, “He took a phone call and went out. I don’t know what’s going on.”

Dolores didn’t tell Theresa directly because she feared Theresa might not be ready for it. If Theresa still felt affection for Armand, she should have had some emotional changes when she saw Armand. Otherwise, she probably didn’t feel anything for Armand.

Theresa’s mouth twitched, “Coral took the girl outside to play on purpose to give them a little time to get along. Matthew was unexpectedly very busy. Money doesn’t grow on trees, for sure.”

Dolores shoved some fruit into Theresa’s mouth, “Shut up.”

Theresa laughed.

After chatting for a while, Theresa asked Lucy to take her design sketch out of her room, and showed it to Dolores. As per the client’s request, she asked her to embroider a pattern of red flowers on a green fabric. If the style of the dress didn’t look right, it would look old-fashioned with that color scheme. So Theresa wanted to discuss it with Dolores.

“The client who customized the dress was a lady in her fifties in C-Town.

Do you think it’s appropriate to do a suit or a dress?”

Dolores took a look at the two versions of Theresa’s design, and each had its features and flaws. She asked, “What is the identity of the lady?”

“The wife of the business owner. We’ve done a video call before, and she’s a lady who looks quite elegant,” Theresa replied.

“Let’s make a suit for her,” Dolores pointed to the sketch of the suit Theresa had designed, “Let’s make a three-piece suit with a pure white blazer. The green and red colors create a visual effect. There will be different and complex colors of embroidered flowers. This way the suit will look messy if with an elegant blazer.”

Theresa nodded, “I think so too. The young lady seemed to have very good taste in clothes. How come she likes green with red flowers? What a strange taste! As the saying goes, green and red, sickens the dog, what does she think?”

Dolores didn’t think it was something strange, “Everyone has their tastes and preferences of something, don’t judge them. I’ve heard before that someone likes to smell nail polish. It’s like a paint smell, how does anyone think it smells good? Everyone looks different and also has different tastes and preferences.”

Theresa agreed.

Just then the doorbell rang. Dolores got up to open the door, while Theresa turned to give her a look because she thought it was Coral who had taken Andrew and Amanda back home.

However, when Dolores opened the door, they saw that the driver and Matthew were carrying Armand, who looked unconscious, instead of seeing Coral and the two children.

Theresa thought, ‘What happened to him, how come they were carrying him,’ she mused.

Dolores turned her head to give Theresa a look, and as it turned out to see Theresa’s eyes rolled in concern when she didn’t hold back.

“He looks like he’s drunk,” Dolores said to Theresa.

Theresa averted her eyes, “None of my business.” She sat down on the couch and continued to eat.

Armand didn’t seem to care at all.

Dolores sighed, “Send him to the guest room.”

“I still want to drink,” Armand shouted back. He still wanted to drink some more, even if he couldn’t open his eyes.

Dolores went to prepare a cup of honey water and handed it to the driver: “Give him a drink of the honey water. He looks like he’s knackered. Sir, buy him some anti-alcoholics at the pharmacy.”

“Let him sleep and he’ll be all right,” Matthew handed Armand to the driver, “Take Armand to the room.”

Lucy came over to help and said, “I’ll cook a hangover soup tonight.”

Dolores nodded, “Please take care of him.”

Lucy said, “Sure,” she grabbed the honey water and helped the driver carry Armand to the room.

“Do you smell alcohol on me?” Matthew raised his arm to Dolores’ nose.

Dolores said yes. Indeed, she smelled faintly of alcohol on him.

Dolores was pregnant, so she was sensitive to the smell.

“I’ll go take a shower,” Matthew couldn’t stand dirt, and he was even more afraid of Dolores smelling alcohol.

Dolores knew his habits. Although she had no fetish for cleanliness, she couldn’t stand any odor on her body. She replied, “Hm.”

Matthew showed no affection for Dolores as there was someone in the living room. He turned away and went upstairs to take a shower. After the shower, he knew that Dolores was not coming upstairs and that Theresa was also downstairs, so he turned to Coral and wanted to play with the two children.

Coral took the two children to the bamboo grove on the mountain behind her house. They were all on a picnic mat spread out on the grasses, with some food on top. Cotton was lying on one side while Andrew read a chess book and Amanda was drawing.

When Coral saw Matthew arrive, she wanted to greet him, but Matthew stopped her with a gesture, indicating that she should return to the villa and that he would take care of the two children.

Coral gently got up and left. She thought, “Matthew rarely has time to be with the two children. I’m sure they will be happy when Matthew is with them.’

When Coral left, Matthew approached Amanda with his quiet footsteps.

Amanda didn’t go to drawing class to learn, it was Dolores and Theresa who taught her how to draw. Fashion design was essential to basic drawing training. Since Dolores and Theresa were fashion designers, they had acquired professional knowledge of design and drawing. They both taught Amanda how to draw when they were free.

Amanda also liked to draw, so she learned it well.

She drew bamboo because she was in the bamboo grove. She was very focused on painting and didn’t notice the spots of color on her white skirt, and she didn’t even notice that Matthew was right behind her.

It was summer. It wasn’t hot in the bamboo grove, but it felt refreshing when the wind blew.

Matthew stood behind Amanda and looked down to look at her drawing. Although he hadn’t finished the drawing yet, he had a pretty good sketch. So he didn’t bother her and silently paid attention to Amanda and made her want him to finish the drawing.

Amanda was so focused that she didn’t notice someone behind her. She suddenly asked, “Andrew, what do you think you’d do if Dad betrayed Mom?”

Matthew was speechless.

He thought:What could she be thinking.

Like Coral, Andrew saw Matthew approaching them, but said nothing. Andrew looked at Matthew, smiled, and asked in response, “What about you? What would you do?”

Amanda cocked her head to the side and thought about it.

She thought she had seen such a plot in a drama, so she remembered the lines from back then and replied to Andrew, “If it’s me, I will pluck all the hair from the mistress’s body like plucking a chicken until she has no more hair on her body, so that she has no way to seduce others.”
