His face became stern, âWeâre done. I will still consider others if there is a suitable person, but not him.â

She sounded stern and the meaning was clear. She would never reconcile with Armand, but she hadnât lost faith in love, she would still consider being in love with the right person, she wasnât giving up.
It didnât sound like she had said it impulsively. Dolores said no more, the relationship was not something a third party could easily get involved in. She took Theresaâs hand tightly, âIâll support whatever you decide.â That was the only thing he could do for her.
âI want to go back to C-Town once Iâve recovered. Even though Oscar is taking over the factory, the store needs to have his person in charge, or else weâll lose customers.â There was no reason for him to stay here in B-town, but he had work to do in C-town.
âIâll come back with you when youâve recovered.â Dolores thought the same thing, âCloudâ was her job, and she couldnât put it aside. Matthew could take care of everything here.
It was a long life, she didnât want to stay home and do nothing all her life, that wasnât the life she wanted, she wasnât the type of woman to give up a career for marriage.
Theresa agreed, âEven if you are married and have a good life with Mr. Nelson, one should not depend on a man, she should have her own career.â
âWe are such good companions, we even have the same thought.â Dolores smiled, âRest well and dress nice tonight.â
âWill there be a handsome man?â Theresa joked.
Dolores patted her, âYes.â Then she got up, âIâm going to take a nap and then Iâll fix dinner when Coral gets back.â
Theresa opened her arms wide and said, âI can only help with the food.â
âGetting well soon is the biggest help you could give me.â Dolores smiled as she left the room. She stopped by to see her children, who were sunk in the world of chess, not realizing the door was open. Then she went upstairs to take a nap.
She was sleepy, but could not fall asleep. Two hours later, Coral returned with the new maid with supplies. Dolores came downstairs when she heard them.
âWhat did you buy?â asked Dolores as she approached.
âDidnât you say we were having guests? So I bought a lot of vegetables, meat and seafood.â
Coral put it all in the kitchen and brought it out, âAh, yes, I bought a salt goose at the âCampo de las Deliciasâ.â
She looked up and said, âI heard this tastes good, but you canât eat too much, you can try a little, salty food is not good for a pregnant woman.â Coral was very thoughtful.
Dolores nodded and helped prepare dinner, but was stopped by Coral. âWe can both handle everything, go take a nap.â
âI canât sleep, let me help.â Dolores was taking a look at everything Coral was buying while thinking about the dishes she could prepare.
So they stayed in the kitchen all afternoon, preparing the dinner feast.
The three men arrived home at seven in the evening.
Matthew went upstairs to change while Boyce and Armand played with the children in the living room.
Armand asked some probing questions trying to find out Theresaâs status here from the children.
Andrew spotted him instantly and said, âThatâs Reneeâs room,â pointing to her room.
Armand looked at her and said, âJust knowing sheâs okay is enough.â
He knew she would be uncomfortable seeing him, so he didnât bother her.
Andrew shook his head as he sighed, âI donât know whatâs wrong with adults.â
âWhatâs wrong with your brain?â Boyce patted his head, âYou mature much faster than your age.â
Andrew looked up, âDonât worry about me, Boyce, you should worry more about yourself. Armand is going through a relationship problem, but at least he had a girlfriend, what about you?â. Boyce was speechless.
âYou think heâs that naive? He already has a girlfriend,â Armand interrupted and tapped Boyce on the shoulder, âWhy didnât you invite Jasmine tonight?â
Andrew got excited, âWow, Boyce already has a girlfriend?â.
The dishes were almost ready, Coral was setting the table. As Dolores passed through the room with alcohol, she heard her son mention someoneâs girlfriend, âWho has a girlfriend?â she asked curiously.
âBoyce, tonightâs hero,â Armand said.
Dolores stopped and stared at Boyce, âIs it true you have a girlfriend?â.
Boyce immediately explained, âNo, no, itâs full of nonsenseâ¦â.
âYou donât need to explain,â Armand said, âWho was the one kissing in front of the universityâ¦â
Boyce covered his mouth before he could finish his sentence, and warned next to his ears, âShut up!â.
âWhatâs the big deal about having a girlfriend, why all the secrecy?â Dolores smiled.
âNo, itâs a misunderstanding, sheâs a college student, sheâs not suitable to be my girlfriend,â Boyce explained. He really thought Jasmine was too young to be considered his girlfriend.
He couldnât accept the age difference between them, besides, Jasmine didnât seem to like him too, and maybe he was too old for her.
Boyce didnât want Armand to spread rumors and worry Jasmine.
Armand withdrew his hand and sneered, âStop pretending, being young is good, many people look for a young girl but fail and you complain.â Boyce really wanted to rip Armandâs mouth off now.
