Charlesâ car had been reconditioned and they knew who owned the car with just a glance.
Dolores unconsciously gave a glance at Matthew. As expected, when he saw that Charlesâ car was parked, his expression turned grim.
Dolores raised her hand, âLetâs get out of the car together.â
Matthew turned to give her a look and their eyes met in the air. Dolores smiled at him and said, âIâll make it clear with him.â
âCan you understand?â Matthew snorted and added, âWe canât get rid of him.â
Dolores laughed as she thought the way Matthew spoke when he was angry was extremely tender.
She squeezed Matthewâs hand and said in a serious tone, âTrust me.â
Matthew studied her for several seconds and silently admitted it.
He pushed open the door, got out of the car, walked to the passenger seat door and opened the door for her. Dolores ducked down, got out of the car and then put her arm around Matthewâs.
âTheyâre coming back.â said Tiana, who was behind Charles, as she saw them get out of the car.
Charles watched her. Even though many thoughts had arisen in his heart, she still gave a calm appearance with the slight smile that was always seen on her face. âTiana, please push me.â
Tiana pushed Charles towards them obediently.
âIâve come to apologize to you.â Stopping in front of them, Charles broke the silence.
Dolores looked angry without a trace of a smile on her face, âIt is true that you should apologize to us. We have brought me great trouble. You have embarrassed me again today. It feels very bad to be pulled by the other person and to be misunderstood as a mistress.â
âIâm sorryâ¦â
The best stories are at gⱯlnÏνððsâ¤ððð âIf youâre really sorry and you know youâve brought me trouble, you shouldnât show yourself in front of me again.â Dolores made it clear. Although this might be heartless, it would be good for both parties.
After all, they were both married and should be responsible for their own spouses.
Charles had married, so he should treat his wife well rather than have any feelings for the other woman.
She did not like this aspect of Charles.
Charles had realized that Dolores must have been angry when he hung up the call the last time. He told her, âI promise this wonât happen again. Me and Tiana are here to apologize to you for what happened today at the mall.â
Dolores said in a firm and determined tone, âI accept your apology. Today is a warning to us. Since we have married and have our own families, for the sake of our spouses, we must establish a clear boundary between our relationships. Todayâs accident is a warning to us.â
After finishing the words, she glanced at Matthew. The seriousness on her face was replaced by a gentle, slight smile as she said, âLetâs go inside.â
Matthew held her by the waist and said in a cuddly tone, âOkay, Iâll listen to your words.â
She hadnât rested her gaze on Charles as if she considered him air.
âWait.â
As they prepared to leave, Tiana stopped them and turned to Dolores, âMy mother broke your phone. To show our apologies, this is a new one for you. I hope you can accept our apology and receive this phone.â
She blinked her clear eyes as she looked at Dolores, âI am so sorry for the accident that happened today. My mother has become so unreasonable because she loves me so much. She has realized that she has lost control of herself today.â
He handed Dolores a bag and said, âPlease take it.â
Dolores didnât take it because she didnât want to receive it.
She wanted to establish a clear boundary between her and Charles for everyoneâs sake.
âDolores, can you please receive it? If not, I will feel uneasy.â Tiana said sincerely and then continued, âThe others think Iâm a fool and no one wants to be friends with me. Since you are Charlesâ friend, you are also my friend. I hope you can forgive us.â
Dolores could be cold-hearted with Charles, but she couldnât be too mean to Tiana. She reached out and took the phone, âI said I accept your apology.â
Tiana said with a smile, âThank you, Dolores.â
âWe havenât had dinner. Dolores, can we eat at your place?â Tiana said following Charlesâ instructions.
Matthew squeezed Doloresâ waist tighter. He knew she was kind, so he would not refuse this pure girlâs request. Just as he was about to turn it down for her, Dolores spoke up, âFine. You can eat at my house.â
It was clear to Dolores that such a pure girl would not propose such a request and she thought someone must have taught her how to say it.
âCharles hasnât had dinner either.â Tiana turned to look at him.
Dolores, however, did not spare a glance at Charles. She said, âOur house is too small to hold too many people. If you are willing, I can invite you to dinner at our house. Of course, only you will be invited. Our table is too small and there isnât room for another person.â
Tiana hesitated, what was she to do if Charles wasnât with her?
âNever mindâ¦â
âTiana, you may go. I have to take care of something. Iâll come pick you up later.â Charles interrupted Tiana with a smile. He was clear about Doloresâ attitude towards him. Now he could only let Tiana approach Dolores for a chance to get to know her.
It was fine if he could take a look at her, even if she didnât want to talk to him.
Although Tiana didnât hate Dolores and had a good impression of her, she was still hesitant because she was apprehensive about being left alone in her house without Charlesâ company.
âBe obedient.â Charles rested his gaze on her gently. Rolling his eyes, Tiana nodded her head and replied, âI will be obedient.â
After finishing the words, she turned to look at Dolores, âDolores, thank you for inviting me to dinner at your house.â
Dolores replied, âYouâre welcome. Please come in.â
Tiana walked next to Dolores. Matthew let go of Dolores and walked behind them. After entering the villa, he turned around to close the door and shot a cold look at Charles.
Charles didnât bother and replied with a smile, âMr. Nelson, thank you for inviting my wife.â
Matthew snorted and then closed the door.
âDad.â Amanda, who was playing with Cotton in the living room, slid down the couch at the sight of Matthew and ran to him.
Matthew bent down to hug his daughter.
âYouâre back at last.â Amanda jumped into his arms, threw her arms around his neck, and sneered.
Matthew picked her up, walked over to the couch and sat down. He gently rubbed her little nose, âDo you miss me?â.
Amanda nodded vigorously, âI looked at the time.â After saying that, she began to complain, âMommy wonât let me go out, but she herself went out to play all day.â
Dolores glanced at Amanda as she heard her words. Amanda then quickly buried her head in Matthewâs arms.
âWhat do you want to drink?â asked Dolores to Tiana.
Tiana shook her head, âIâm not thirsty.â
âHave a seat. Donât hold back.â said Dolores with a smile.
Tiana sat down on the couch. Dolores went to the kitchen and asked Coral to prepare more dishes.
Cotton looked viciously at Tiana and growled menacingly.
Although Cotton was gentle, he still held a certain hostility towards strangers.
Tiana was a bit startled.
Amanda finally noticed Tiana when she heard Cottonâs growl and yelled, âCotton, donât be rude.â
Cotton immediately became obedient. He wagged his tail, ran to her and rubbed against her body.
Matthew put Amanda down and said, âIâm going upstairs to change my clothes.â
Amanda replied, âOkay.â
Matthew didnât go straight upstairs, but went out the door and carried the things Dolores had bought into the house before he went upstairs.
âExcuse me, who are you?â Amanda studied Tiana from head to toe.
She hadnât seen her before.
Tiana replied with a smile, âMy name is Tiana Meyer, whatâs yours?â
âIâm Amanda Nelson. You can call me Amy too. As for my name, itâs a long story, so I wonât elaborate.â
Amanda looked very helpless.
âDonât be afraid of Cotton. He doesnât bite people.â Amanda rubbed Cottonâs fur and even invited Tiana to rub him, âTiana, would you like to touch him? Heâs so obedient.â
Tiana didnât dare to touch him because she was still frightened by his fierce look now.
Amanda lifted Tianaâs hand and placed it on Cottonâs body.
