Dolores’ phone fell to the floor with a cracking sound. The screen cracked. She glanced at the phone on the floor, looking increasingly annoyed.

She turned to look at the woman and said in a cold tone, “I answered your question and explained, but you don’t believe me. What can I do, do you want to hold on to me like this all the time?”

The woman still refused to let go. “What can you do to make me believe you?”

After all, in intimacy they could touch each other. She knew her daughter well, so she feared she was being cheated on.

Dolores pointed to the phone on the floor. “I can call my husband to come over, can you try it?”

The woman hesitated, but she still couldn’t be reassured. “What if you call someone to pretend to be your husband?” Dolores was speechless.

That woman was completely irrational. Dolores was almost mentally collapsed. She could not convince this woman at all.

Judging by the woman’s attire, she should be of the upper class, but she was like a harpy.

Tiana tugged at her mother. “Mom, stop it! A lot of people are looking at us now.”

The woman didn’t give a glance. She didn’t think the attention was important to her. After all, her daughter’s happiness was more important. She couldn’t let anyone destroy her.

Tiana failed to convince her mother, so she texted Charles when her mother didn’t notice.

“Do you intend to hold on to me like this forever?” Dolores clenched her hands, trembling slightly. Her chest was rising and falling. If it weren’t for her being pregnant, she would push the woman violently.

What an impossible bitch!

“Since you don’t trust Charles White, why did you let your daughter marry him? As long as there’s a woman beside him, he’ll be suspicious of them. Will there be any end? How long can you watch over your daughter? Can you watch over her all her life? What if one day you die, and what must she do then?”

Dolores calmed down, doing her best to suppress her anger. She continued to coax the woman. “I suppose since you let your daughter marry Charles White, you must like her. Now that they are married, you should try to trust him. You shouldn’t always be suspicious of him. If Charles knows what’s going on now, what will he think of you?”

The woman was speechless. When she let her daughter marry Charles, she really liked him. In particular, her husband was very pleased with Charles.

The woman was quite delighted with her daughter’s marriage. It was true that she had to believe that Charles could take good care of her daughter. He could watch over them for the moment, but he could not do it for the rest of his life.

If Charles was really a playboy, she wouldn’t be able to stop him either.

The woman felt a little touched. “You have no relationship with Charles really?”

Dolores gave the woman a guileless look. “I can ask my husband to bring our marriage certificate to show you, would that work?”

The woman paused slightly. Releasing her wrist, she said, “Call him.”

Dolores breathed a sigh of relief. As she was about to bend down to pick up the phone, Tiana picked it up for her and handed it to her. “I can tell it doesn’t suit you.”

Looking at the cracked screen, she said apologetically, “My mother didn’t mean to. I can make it up to you.”

Dolores glanced at Tiana. She was a really good child, well protected by her parents. She hadn’t experienced any darkness in the world, so she treated everyone with kindness.

Reaching out, she took the phone from Tiana’s hand and said, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. My mother is very upset because she worries about me, but believe me, Charles wouldn’t lie to me. I think you’re a good woman too,” Tiana said earnestly.

Dolores used to feel sorry for Charles because he had married Tiana. Now she discovered that Charles was very lucky.

If he did not treat this girl kindly, Dolores would also curse him and beat him up.

Tiana was such a nice girl. If he only wanted to develop his career by using his familiar surroundings instead of hoarding her, he would be a real villain.

“Why don’t you call, are you lying to me?” the woman urged Dolores, seeing that she didn’t dial any numbers and sensing that Dolores was lying to her.

Dolores ignored the woman. She liked Tiana, but she couldn’t like this woman. It was fine that she cared about her daughter, but she stopped her for no reason, which was really unacceptable.

The woman was too harsh. If Dolores didn’t explain it clearly to her, she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to leave. Although she did not want Matthew to come for this trifle, she swiped her finger to unlock the screen and dialed his number. Since the screen was broken, the phone was not working properly.

However, Dolores didn’t know that when the driver saw through the glass window that someone was bothering her in the store, he had already called Matthew.

A black car pulled up in front of the mall entrance. The door was pushed open. Slender legs wrapped in suit pants showed first, and a tall, strong figure stepped out of the car.

He entered the mall in long strides. Just then, another car also stopped. Tom helped Charles out of the car.

Seeing Matthew, Charles greeted him, “Hello, Mr. Nelson.”

Matthew stopped his stride, giving Charles a glance. The latter did not respond, continuing in long strides toward the place indicated by the driver.

Charles followed him and quickly arrived at the lingerie store.

The entire store staff was watching the scene. They did not approach to stop the woman or ask them to leave. On the contrary, they believed the scene might attract more customers.

Seeing Matthew approaching, the driver turned to him and said, “Mrs. Nelson has come to shop, but a woman has disturbed her.”

“Why?” asked Matthew as he came striding in.

The driver said, “I wasn’t in the store before, so I’m not sure of the details. I just saw that woman grab Mrs. Nelson and wouldn’t let her go.”

Matthew’s face turned cold. He walked into the lingerie store and saw that Dolores was looking at her phone over there. Dolores was trying to call him, but the screen wasn’t working, so she hadn’t gotten through after a long time. He walked over and asked her, “What happened?”.

Dolores raised her head and saw him. As if she had seen the straw to save her life, she was so happy that she almost rushed over to hug him.

Repressing her impulse, Dolores did not embrace him, but held his arm intimately, as if showing the woman that she was married.

Leaning against Matthew, Dolores said in a weak tone. “I am very exhausted. Please explain to the lady the relationship between us.” Matthew was confused.

How come he had to explain their relationship?

He wondered what the hell had happened.

The woman didn’t like to socialize much, but everyone knew Matthew in B-town, and she was no exception. She had never even heard that Matthew had gotten married.

She panicked, realizing she must have misunderstood him.

For a moment, she didn’t know what to say.

“Charles!” At that moment, Charles walked in. Tiana ran to him and pushed his wheelchair. Before Charles asked her, she said, “It seems Mom didn’t understand the relationship between you and that young lady, so Mom stopped her from leaving. Please explain it to Mom.”

Hearing her, Matthew came to know why Dolores was worried. Her face darkened, wringing wry words from her throat, “What a phantom impossible to avoid.”

Charles knew the reason, giving him an annoyed look as well. He whispered to ask, “What on earth has happened?”

Otherwise, Mrs. Meyer would not have misunderstood the relationship between Dolores and him.

Tiana remembered and replied, “It seems that ever since I said you had touched Miss’s tummy, Mama started to get angry.”

Charles instantly understood what had happened.

He walked over and apologized to Dolores, “I’m sorry I caused you so much trouble.”

Dolores didn’t give him a single glance, feeling extremely annoyed. No one would be pleased after being called a mistress, prevented from leaving the scene and watched for fun.

“You don’t need to apologize to me. Please explain it to your wife and mother-in-law.”

“Mom, this is Miss Flores, Mr. Nelson’s wife. We knew each other and are good friends. The last time I did that abruptly, Miss Flores was also surprised. Please don’t misunderstand.” Charles was expressionless, but he felt quite disgruntled. Obviously, Mrs. Meyer did not trust him at all.

Otherwise, he would not have done such a stupid thing to spite Dolores.

Mrs. Meyer felt rather uncomfortable. She hadn’t expected Charles to come here. As she turned to glance at her daughter, she knew it was she who had noticed him. She sighed and thought her daughter was really dumb.

However, he couldn’t bring himself to scold his daughter, so he could only bear it.

She had never expected Dolores’ husband to be Matthew. She forced a smile, “I’m sorry. I misunderstood.”
