Chapter 513: Chapter 513

Matthew Nelson left the cafeteria around ten o’clock. By this time, the cafeteria was already close to closing, so he could no longer stay inside.

Boyce Shawn and Armand Bernie had probably never seen Matthew look as pitiful as he did now. He had to pose as a beggar just so he could see Dolores Flores.

He didn’t even have a place to stay.

He went back to the door of the residence to wait for his son’s message. However, he saw Oscar Adams leaving the residence instead.

Oscar talked to Dolores about the exhibition, so he came out a little late. He walked over and handed him the key card without saying, “You can’t get in without this.”

Matthew didn’t hesitate. He reached out and took it, “Thank you.”

Oscar thought for a while, “Do you want to take a bath at my place?”

“No, I still have to come back tomorrow,” Abbott Baron called him on the phone and told him that Boyce had gotten into trouble.

He didn’t hear clearly what happened at the time. He only heard Amanda Nelson’s voice and then hung up. Abbott probably thought he had already heard, so he didn’t call back.

If it was a minor matter, Abbott probably wouldn’t tell him. Therefore, he had to come back after he saw Dolores.

Oscar smiled and handed her a business card that he pulled out of his pocket, “If there is anything you need my help with, you can look me up. I’m very familiar with C-Town.”

“What is your relationship to Stanley Lennon?” asked Matthew as he took it from him.

Oscar was stunned for a moment. It had been a long time since someone had directly mentioned Stanley in front of him. The smile on his face disappeared and he became serious, “I was wild and naughty when I was young. Someone was about to cut my hands off. He was the one who saved me, so I always followed him afterwards. Then… I helped him keep an eye on JK.”

When he finished speaking, he looked at Matthew, “You must be the person Jolene Harris arranged for Lola.”

He used a declarative rather than interrogative sentence.

At that point, Jolene wouldn’t let him go get Dolores. She said she had already arranged everything for her. Although Jolene didn’t say it directly, he knew in his gut that it must be so, since Nelson was the last name of Dolores’ two sons.

It was also the last name of Jolene’s husband’s family at the time.

It wasn’t hard to guess the situation based on personal experiences.

“We are bound by fate,” Dolores was not sent to him because of someone’s arrangement and certainly not to pay for someone’s sin.

From her point of view, that was a type of harm. It was physically and emotionally hurtful to Dolores, as she was used by her mother as leverage to pay for her sins.

To him, it was an insult. It was an insult to his feelings.

In his subconscious, nothing and no one was involved as it was purely feelings between Dolores and him. He liked her. It was as simple as that.

Oscar pursed his lips and smiled awkwardly. It was as if he realized that what he had said sounded wrong. No one would like to be fixed up by someone, “So, I’ll leave now.” Matthew nodded silently in agreement.

He found a place to sit when Oscar left. He got the call from Andrew Nelson when it was almost one o’clock. He hung up after it rang twice.

This was his agreement with his son. His son would call him after Dolores went to sleep. However, he couldn’t help but frown after looking at the time. He went to sleep when it was already one o’clock?

He didn’t have time to worry about this problem right now. Instead, he used the key card Oscar gave him to successfully enter the residence and find the room where Dolores lived.

The door was not properly locked as a crack was visible. He opened it with a gentle push. Andrew was wearing summer pajamas and slippers on his feet as he stood in the hallway.

The lights were off inside, but the curtains were not drawn. So the light coming in at an angle from outside was enough for him to see the general furnishings of the house.

Andrew handed her a pair of slippers and instructed, “Keep it down.”

“Do you usually go to bed this late?” she asked softly as she slipped on her slippers.

Andrew nodded and whispered, “Pretty much, anyway, he sleeps late. Sometimes it’s because of work. Sometimes… I don’t know why he can’t fall asleep either. In short, he usually sleeps after 12 o’clock.”

After speaking, he walked to Dolores’ room and spoke softly, “Mom sleeps in this room.”

Matthew rubbed his son’s head as he stood in the doorway, “Thank you.”

“Sure, I’m going to sleep now,” he yawned. He was very sleepy. He had never slept this late. He already did everything he could for this couple.

He lived in the room diagonal to Dolores’. He arrived with a few steps and closed the door after entering the room.

Both in the noisy streets and in the crowded residence, everything was quiet at that moment. The noise of the day was gone and only silence remained.

Matthew reached out and gently pushed the door open.

The lights were not on in the room and a layer of white tulle acted as a curtain.

The air conditioning wasn’t on either. The windows were open, and the gentle breeze from the wind lifted the tulle curtain from time to time. She entered softly.

The room was not very large, and in the center was a double bed. In the dim light, he could only see a tiny figure curled up on the bed.

She wore only a slip dress and nothing else covered her. Her bare skin glistened in the dim light.

She sat on the side of the bed gently, and the woman in the bed seemed not to notice.

She slept on her side and half of her face sunk into the pillow.

A few messy strands of long hair covered the other half of her face, so he reached up to push them out of the way and keep them from covering her face.

Half of his face was finally exposed, and its contours were extremely clear and tiny.

It had been two months since they had seen each other, but she had not gained any weight. He felt bad for her, as she looked like she had lost some weight at his touch.

He thought how wonderful it would be if time stood still and he would spend a lifetime quietly caring for her like this.

He leaned down to kiss her forehead. Her unique scent prevailed in every breath and every place he went. It made him sticky and obsessive. His lips kept tracing every inch of her bare skin.

However, Dolores, lying on the bed, wore a pained expression as her eyebrows furrowed tightly. She was having a nightmare. In her nightmare, she was thrown into a desolate world. There was nothing but endless darkness all around her. There was even a howl. The loud roar seemed to be from a monster slowly approaching her and eventually pushing her to the ground.

She was scared out of her wits when she saw a huge mouth rushing towards her.

She wanted to scream and shout, but her throat seemed to be held back. That’s why she couldn’t make any noise.

Her body could not move either. Even if she used all her strength, she could not free herself.

Matthew seemed to feel his body tighten. A cold sweat broke out on his forehead, and he seemed to be in extreme pain.

It was evident that he was having a nightmare. He no longer cared that she could see him.

He just wanted her to wake up quickly from her nightmare, so he gently patted her cheeks, “Wake up…”

The slight noise woke her from her nightmare. She quickly opened her eyes and saw vaguely and sleepily an extremely familiar figure hovering above. He spoke hoarsely, “Is that you?”

He embraced her delicate body, rubbed her arms and gently comforted her, “Yes, it’s me. Have you been having a nightmare?”

It was an answer that tore her longing for him hidden deep in her heart. It was as if she were bewitched.

She sniffed him madly and greedily. There was a faint scent of sweat on his body. It was not heavy.

Instead, it seemed more like a sign that he hadn’t had time to wash up because he had hurried and come to see her after a long trip. He was particularly sexy. She kissed his protruding collarbone and enjoyed him exclusively.

She owned every passing second and the time she couldn’t take advantage of.

Her consciousness was so clouded and dazed she couldn’t tell if it was reality or the non-existent demon of sleep paralysis.

He just wanted to embrace it. This way, he wouldn’t be afraid in the dark.

So she hugged him for a long time. It was so long that she was stunned. Her eyelids trembled as she held them forcibly open.

Then he turned suddenly and held her in his arms. He kissed her hard and deep as his warm lips covered her mouth. It was so deep she could choke, but she was also enjoying it.
