Dolores felt she had to tell them clearly the matter of the change of their surnames.

For a while she pondered in her heart how to tell them.

Then she spoke softly to her children, “Our country has been in this world for five thousand years. It can be considered as a place with a long history and there was a tradition in our country since ancient times for sons to receive the same surname as their father. I didn’t tell you that your father and I changed their surname.”

Simona raised her head and looked at her. She chewed the food in her mouth slowly. After swallowing the food, she said, “Is this what you want to tell us?”

Dolores nodded. It seemed to her that he looked like he knew, so she tried to ask him, “Did you know?”

No one seemed to know, did they?

How did she know?

Simona used a pair of chopsticks to pick up some more steamed cake and then popped it in her mouth to chew, “I didn’t know, but I know our last name was going to be changed someday. Before you told us, I heard that everyone around us uses the same last name as their father. However, my sister and I are special in this. However, now we are normalized and no one would think that dad married into mom’s family.” Dolores was speechless.

How did he know so much about it? Did he even know that a man was married into a woman’s family?

Simona was busy eating and didn’t have time to join the conversation. When she heard her brother’s words, she blinked curiously and asked, “What does it mean for a man to be married to a woman’s family?”

Feel inspired by ga ln o vels . com Simona hardly thought about it and answered earnestly, “The normal thing is for a woman to marry a man. For example, mom had to marry dad and this was considered a normal situation. For by keeping the woman’s last name, it means that a man marries a woman. For example, mom married dad and then dad would be considered part of mom’s family.”

Simona was still in bewilderment, what did it mean, who married whom? She shook her head and didn’t want to bother with the complicated fact. She just asked, “Does it mean our last name is no longer Flores?”

“That’s right.” Samuel lifted his chin to indicate to ask Dolores about it, “You can ask Mom.”

Dolores stared at her son with an amused facial expression. Where had she gotten all that information?

“Mommy, so now we use the same last name as Daddy’s, right?” there was still food in the little girl’s mouth, so she spoke in a slurred voice.

Dolores patted her daughter’s head and spoke earnestly, “Yes, your last name is Nelson now and both of your names have changed slightly. For now, your name is Simona Nelson and your brother’s name is Samuel Nelson. If you are going to introduce yourselves to each other in the future, you have to use this name, okay?”

“But you still call us by our previous names, even you haven’t changed it.” The girl asked a reasonable question.

Dolores sighed. Her daughter had really changed. She used to be very ignorant, didn’t know anything and only liked to eat delicate food in the past. However, now she could even speak well.

Although she was still a bit fuzzy for some time, she had become much more talkative than before.

She glanced at her son – was the saying “people will be affected by the person around them” true? Since she always stayed with him, was that the reason she had become like him?

“I have used these names to call them for five years, so I couldn’t change them for now. However, I will endeavor to get used to your new names as soon as possible.” He spoke to his daughter solemnly.

The little girl picked up the glass of milk and took a few sips to wash the food in her mouth down to her stomach, “So, what will you call me from now on, Amanda, or Amy?”

She blinked and commented thoughtfully, “It seems these two names are not as pleasant as the last one.”

“Eat faster, you’ll find it pleasant after you hear it more times. There are still people who are called by nicknames, people also get used to the name after hearing it more times.”

The little girl was about to let go of the milk in her mouth. Then, her eyes widened in disbelief and stared at Dolores, “How can these parents be so irresponsible and name their children such names?”

“No one stops loving their children. Old people think the old-fashioned way and think it will be easier for them to call their children if their children’s names are simple.” Dolores explained to her daughter patiently as she wanted to let her know that none of the parents in this world did not love their children and the only difference was the way they expressed their love.

After breakfast, Dolores took her two children to get them out of there. Since they had no luggage, they didn’t need to pack anything. When she got there, she just picked up a jacket and put it on casually. Since she had to take the two children with her, she also took a handbag with money and credit cards inside because, wherever they went, they could not go without money. The last thing she took was the document Jolene left her.

She took her two children down the elevator and they went to the front desk to check the room. The receptionist couldn’t help herself and complimented them on seeing her two children, “Your children are so beautiful.”

Dolores took the refunded deposit and smiled at the receptionist. She took her children by the hand and they walked out of the hotel. They pulled over to the side of the road and wanted to catch a cab. The good thing was that the place was not that crowded at that time, many cabs were coming and going. They didn’t wait long and successfully got into a cab without having any problems.

“Where do you want to go?” The driver glanced at them.

Dolores let her children sit down and then only she answered the driver, “JK Group.”

The driver started the car and pulled away….

Perhaps because they were heading to a strange city, the two children strained to lean against the window and look out of it. Dolores tugged gently on her son, “Samuel, give your sister some space.”

“Didn’t you just say you changed our names? Why do you keep calling me Samuel?” Samuel sat in the inside position and let his sister sit in the window seat.

Dolores scrunched her forehead slightly. She really had forgotten. It was really hard to change one’s habit, “Okay, I’ll remember to call you Andrew next time.”

“I think you can just call me Andy, it sounds more intimate.” It was weird to see him seek her attention in front of her.

Dolores held her son’s head and kissed his forehead, “Okay, I’ll take your suggestion and call you Andy.”

The cab driver driving glanced at them with the rear view mirror, “This is the first time you’ve come here, isn’t it?”

Dolores said, “Yes.”

“You are very lucky, both of your children are very beautiful. Your son doesn’t look much like you, so he must look like his father, right?”

Samuel was growing up and looking more and more like Matthew. At times, the way he frowned looked exactly like Matthew. He reached out and lightly stroked his son’s face. He seemed to see someone else’s face when he looked at his son’s face.

A slight melancholy rose from the bottom of his heart.

“Here he is.”

Just as Dolores was thinking of other things, the driver stopped the cab in front of a magnificent joint building and spoke to her, “You have arrived at the JK Group.”

Dolores regained her mind and took money out of her purse and gave it to the cab driver. Then, she opened the car door and made her two sons get out of the cab.

When they stood at the roadside, they could clearly see the building. It was said to be a linked building because there was a glass bridge in the middle of the two buildings and it connected them.

It looked like there was a large billboard sitting in the air and it was placed between the roofs of the two buildings with the few words JK Group written magnificently on it.

She took a deep breath and took her two children by the hand to enter the building. The two children looked here and there. They watched unconsciously because it was an unfamiliar place to them.

After passing through the lobby, Dolores held her children’s hands and made her way to the counter, the receptionist greeted them eagerly, “May I know your name?”

“I’m looking for a man by the name of Oscar Adams.”

The receptionist was stunned for a moment as she did not expect him to call Oscar Adams by name. She took another look at Dolores instinctively and asked, “Do you have an appointment?”

Dolores shook her head, “No.”

“Oh, then I’m sorry I can’t let you in.” The receptionist smiled systematically at her.

“May I ask you a question, is a person by the name of Oscar Adams staying here?” Dolores asked again.

She really wanted to find out if the person by the name of Oscar Adams existed .
