The car was parked in the village. As the place was more crowded, it was more difficult to implement the security check.

Abbott chose the location of Matthew’s individual villa, mainly where they stayed before as the surroundings were easier to implement security control. A burglar alarm system was installed ten meters from the villa. If anyone entered the control zone, the alarm was activated.

The men arranged by Boyce were all strong and well equipped with martial arts. A total of eight men were distributed in two shifts a day, guarding the outside of the villa for twenty-four hours.

” Everything has been cleared,” Abbott said as he saw the car stop and approach.

Coral got out of the car first and went into the villa to see if the bedroom bed had been cleaned. Abbott was well prepared, as he specifically consulted the expert on what type of environment would be best for a pregnant woman. According to Dolores’ case, she had to feel cheerful and also her living environment had to be comfortable and well ventilated.

Although Dolores was pregnant, she stayed upstairs in the master bedroom. She could open the window to breathe in the fresh air as there was a bamboo grove at the back window. It was really suitable for someone who stayed inside the house and could not go out.

Coral placed the flowers she had brought from the hospital on the bed and then went downstairs. She said to Matthew, “Abbott has cleaned up the bedroom neatly.”

Next, Matthew merely took Dolores out of the car. Even Charles’ appearance and those words had seriously affected her emotion, but she didn’t express it too much in front of Matthew.

Everyone was already too busy with their business. Her deathly dull look would only make the mood worse.

He looked at Abbott and Armand, “Thank you for your help today. Stay for dinner tonight. By the way, call Boyce to come too.”

She really wanted to thank these people, but she also had other goals….

Armand and Abbott didn’t dare bother her, since she was pregnant. They looked at Matthew doubtfully at her invitation and seemed to ask if they could accept it.

Dolores laughed, ” I’m asking you to dine here, why are you looking at him, can’t I invite you all to dinner?”

“No…” Armand was about to explain when Matthew uttered at that moment, “Listen to her. Abbott, go find a chef to prepare dinner for us.”

“Okay.” Abbott was excited as Matthew had recognized Dolores’ identity as Missus. He was certainly happy to be invited to dinner.

They didn’t even have a wedding, but the fact that Matthew had been with a woman spread. But, with the exception of the people who surrounded Matthew in the company, no one dared to call her ma’am. After all, they didn’t have a wedding, so people were afraid to call her wrong.

Armand put the things down in the room and said, “I’ll go downstairs and call Boyce to come.”

He couldn’t help upstairs. He had to trust Coral to clean those things up.

Matthew agreed and Coral lifted the blanket as he laid her on the bed. The blanket and mattress were new and clean. They were made of a soft, comfortable silk-like fabric, which was most suitable for the weather.

“It’s still comfortable at home,” Dolores said with excitement. After all, the hospital was relatively crowded compared to the cozy house.

Matthew padded two pillows behind her back to make her more comfortable.

Coral sorted the clothes from her suitcase and went downstairs with them. “I’ll be down later to prepare dinner with the chef.”

Matthew told her, ” Pour a cup of warm water up here.” Coral knew and went downstairs with the suitcase.

A gentle breeze was coming in through the open window.

Dolores closed her eyes sleepily. She wasn’t really sleepy, but she didn’t want to look at Matthew. She was afraid he might suspect she had an ulterior motive.

“Sleepy.” He sat down next to the bed and looked at his wife, who had narrowed her eyes.

Dolores replied, “A little tired.”

“Wait until Coral pours you a glass of water and drink some before you go to sleep,” Matthew said.

When Dolores suddenly invited them to stay for dinner at first, Matthew only thought she was really doing it as a token of appreciation and didn’t think much of it.

But now, he was a little suspicious as she was deliberately hiding from him.

She was so puzzled after hearing Charles’ words. Besides, she was so excited and could not hide her worry and fear in facing him.

What was his purpose in inviting them to dinner?

She did not express the doubts she had in her mind.

At that moment, Coral brought a glass of water and Matthew handed it to Dolores.

She looked at him blankly, “Aren’t you the one who drinks?” “I’ll drink when you’re done,” he said softly.

“How do you know I’m thirsty?” She thought he was the one who was thirsty, since he had told Coral to pour him a glass of water upstairs.

Matthew held her messy hair behind her ear and said softly, “Your lips are so dry and you just cried in the car, your mouth will be dry. Even if you’re not thirsty, you should drink some water to moisten your throat so you won’t be uncomfortable while you sleep.”

Dolores took the opportunity to drink some water and smiled softly, “Can you think of any jokes about me?”

Matthew pursed his lips wordlessly.

“I know I’m really embarrassed today. A pregnant woman is really silly.” At that moment, she had not controlled her excitement and was very excited. She wondered if he would suspect something.

“According to the book, it said that a woman will be dumb for three years once she is pregnant.” Matthew took the glass of water she handed him. He didn’t drink it or put it down. However, he held the glass tightly and said in a deep voice, “Aren’t you curious as to what book I read that from?”

Dolores was speechless.

“I’m sleepy.” Dolores removed a pillow and rolled over with her back to him. She wasn’t going to ask him.

Matthew sat by the bed without moving. He lowered his head and looked at the glass of water in his hand. Then, he raised it to his lips and drank the water it contained. After a while, he noticed that Dolores’ breathing had become slow and even. There was no response when he called out to her softly.

She had probably fallen asleep. She got out of bed and did not come out. Dolores was pretending as she was not asleep. The moment Matthew left the bed, she opened her eyes.

After a while she turned her head. She was standing in front of the window but she could not see his expression and guess his emotion.

However, Matthew could always guess something based on her intelligence.

He must be getting suspicious by now, right?

She put her hand on her stomach as she reinforced her intention to hide the truth. She pulled out her phone and texted Boyce, “Get me a wheelchair and put it in your car. Don’t tell anyone and you don’t need to respond to my message. I’ll tell you the reason later.”

She chose Boyce because he was the most assertive among the people around Matthew.

She hung up the phone and closed her eyes once the message was delivered. She was unaware that her every action was witnessed by Matthew through the glass window.

He turned his head and walked over to the bed as Dolores closed her eyes…..
