Dolores was taken aback for a while, and soon realized what he was referring to. It was beyond her expectations that he would know so quickly. After all Jeffery was her father. He wouldnât have told her based on Matthewâs character.
gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤cøm is a world of wonder âThis is none of your business. You donât have to worry.â Dolores didnât really expect him to support one side or the other. He could remain absolutely neutral, not helping anyone.
Even if he was on Jefferyâs side, she wouldnât complain, because that was her father.
Sean got up to walk to the window. Dolores knew she might be in a quandary over this. But Jeffery wouldnât worry. He never thought about others.
His fatherâ¦
Sean didnât want to think about Jeffery, because it could only bring him disappointment.
âTell my brother, if he needs me at any time, to come over.â Sean turned around and looked like he wanted to say something. He paused and looked at Dolores, âAre you feeling better now?â
Dolores smiled and replied, âIâm much better, donât worry.â
âGood, or I wouldnât know how to see my brother and Samuel.â It was because of Jeffery that Dolores was suffering. Even though Jeffery and he were on bad terms, Jeffery was her father, this was the fact.
Dolores sighed. Why did the rancor of the past generation bring the sufferings to this generation?
She had nothing to comfort Sean. The only thing she could do was to let him calm down, âIf you think the country is boring, you could spend some time abroad.â
That way he could avoid trouble, and he wouldnât worry about this issue.
Sean smiled, âI wonât leave.â
He couldnât leave right now.
He looked at Charles. He didnât speak at all since he entered the room, other than just sitting in the wheelchair, looking at Dolores. Sean asked, âIs he your friend?â Dolores nodded.
Sean was relieved. It was good that Dolores knew him. If he had brought someone unrelated, it might upset Dolores.
âIâm leaving.â Sean wondered if there would be any way to resolve this matter peacefully.
He didnât want Jeffery and Matthew to become enemies.
âMhmm.â Dolores replied mildly.
After Sean left, Charles moved his wheelchair and approached her.
Her face was pale. And Charles looked concerned, âWhy didnât you even tell me when such an important matter happened?â
Dolores didnât want to discuss this with Charles, so she changed the subject, âWhy donât you leave?â
âItâs Jeffrey who has wronged you, correct?â Charles didnât want to stop, âDolores, is this a minor matter?â
âNo matter how serious this matter is, it has nothing to do with you. Please donât interfere and go back to your White City. This is a complicated matter. Once youâve gotten involved, itâs hard to get out of this boat.â Dolores was convinced.
Jeffrey wanted Mathew to marry the Chambers Family woman. And the Chambers Family was no ordinary family. Of course, they had their own intention since they had accepted the offer. This was not White City, nor Charlesâ territory.
Why bother if it was a place just to be bullied?
The way Charles was looking at her was getting more and more serious, âYouâre worried about me now?â
Dolores looked him in the eye and replied bluntly, âIâm grateful to you because you saved my life. Something happened in White City. And I knew you didnât initiate it. Besides, I donât think you can help with my problem.â
Charles laughed, âHow do you know I couldnât help?â his laughter intensified, âDonât you think itâs a good time to cooperate with Matthew and take down Jeffery?â
Dolores smiled, âYou still havenât been able to give this up.â
âYouâre right, I canât give it up. Itâs my dream to get revenge for my adoptive father.â Every word reflected Charlesâ determination.
Last time he had been on the verge of leaving after hearing what Dolores had said. But after what had happened, he thought it would be a chance. He couldnât take Jeffery down by himself. But it might not be impossible with Matthewâs help.
After all, Matthew and Jeffery were rivals.
And they were in the same boat.
Dolores didnât think she could persuade him, âIâm tired.â
She didnât want to discuss this with him. She felt really tired.
Charles wanted to hold her hand. At that moment the door to the room opened.
Charles took her hand again after pausing for two seconds in the air.
The nurse came in and finished the injection for Dolores. She asked Dolores to press the hygiene button for a while. âPush it for a while.â
She took the medicine away and handed Coral the doctorâs prescription. âDo what the prescription suggests every day. This will reduce the symptoms of the pregnant womanâs vomiting.â
Coral nodded, âSure, thanks.â Coral ushered the nurse out.
âThis is what we should do.â The leaders had told them. And there were only experts who diagnosed Dolores. Matthew spoke to the director alone.
Charles was super surprised to hear this, Pregnant, stop vomiting?
Dolores was pregnant?
He wanted to speak but his lip froze.
She felt so bad she couldnât speak.
She and Matthew had two children. Surely they were on good terms. But knowing she was pregnant again, he was still shocked, and this was hard for him to accept.
He asked in a dry voice, âHow far along?â
Dolores had nothing to hide, âA month or so.â
Charles kept a straight face, âCongratulations.â
âThank you.â
Coral took the prescription and studied it with difficulty. Sometimes she talked to herself, âBroccoli is so much better.â
The broccoli had more vitamins. She always thought they were all the same.
There were more green vegetables in the recipe. Since green foods were high in folic acid, there was no need to supplement folic acid. The dietary supplements were easier to absorb and healthier. They were available at every meal. In addition to the fruit and vegetable mix, each meal had supplements high in protein elements, such as shrimp and meat.
âI canât go back. I have to call home. Iâll ask them to make something and deliver it here.â Coral was doing her best to take care of Dolores.
She was afraid Dolores wouldnât be able to eat and would vomit.
Dolores was used to Coralâs care.
Charles felt uncomfortable, âIâm leaving, take care of yourself.â
Dolores replied, âGo easy.â
Charles smiled, âTake care of yourself, I can go home without you accompanying me.â
Charles left the hospital feeling confused. He thought this was all out of the blue.
Tom followed him, âArenât you coming back?â
He waved his hand. Now he needed to calm down. Tom had to push him walking down the road, with no destination.
There were plenty of stores near the hospital, restaurants, grocery stores, and flower boutiques.
He looked in the flower shops, and the beautiful flowers. They seemed to be gorgeous, even reflected in the window display. Charles let Tom pause, âBuy me a bouquet ofâ¦.. roses.â
