Chapter 395: Chapter 395

Matthew was well established in his career and had men of his own in town after running his business these few years.

There was only one person in town who had the power to release Sampson from custody.

Matthew narrowed his eyes, and he had guessed who the person behind this was, but the person?

He closed his eyes and calmed down. He walked in the direction of the police station. He wanted to see Dolores now and wanted to know if she was okay. He also wanted to know if she was scared about this thing.

Boyce followed him, “We may not see Dolores today.” Boyce could not intervene in this case at all.

Matthew retraced his steps, “Who is in charge of this case?”

As he spoke, Officer Sharp approached him.

Officer Sharp was not surprised when he saw Matthew here, “Mr. Nelson, you are not allowed to see Miss Flores now. If you want to see her, I think you need to go to Jeffery’s first.”

Boyce’s eyes widened and Armand was stunned at the same time. They wondered, “Jeffery?”

Did this affair have anything to do with Jeffery?

Matthew pursed the corners of his lips and disguised his surprise in an instant.

It wasn’t easy to get Dolores out of custody as the person behind it set him up.

“You two go investigate…” as he half spoke, Matthew realized it was too late to ask them to investigate the back of the bar. All the evidence would eventually point to Dolores, as this was a trap.

His chest swelled, “Let’s try to see if we can see her.”

He turned around and got into the car after talking.

It would be worse for Dolores if she was delayed in finding Jeffery.

She had to go find Jeffery as soon as possible.

Armand watched the car drive away from the police station. He didn’t understand how Jeffery could be connected with this matter.

After all, Jeffery was Matthew’s uncle.

However, Boyce knew the reason Jeffery could be related to this case. Matthew had asked him to follow Jeffery’s lead last time, and Matthew had told him that Jeffery knew about the relationship between Dolores and Victoria.

Jeffery felt hatred toward Victoria.

Jeffery would feel bad when he knew that Dolores was attached to Victoria, but he wouldn’t go so far as to frame Dolores.

There had to be some things he didn’t know.

Matthew stopped the car in front of Jeffery’s house. He got out of the car and went into the house. The entrance was open, as if the inhabitants of the house were waiting for him.

Jeffery and Eddie were playing chess in the living room, and Chloe sat next to them chatting.

Matthew walked into the house alone and had an aura about him that kept people in awe. He drew people’s gazes like a net. Matthew ignored Marina, who waved at him, and walked briskly toward Jeffery.

“You’ve come.”

“What do you want?” Matthew interrupted Jeffery.

Jeffery looked at Matthew’s poker face, “I’m your uncle.”

He didn’t kill Dolores because he wanted to see how important she was in Matthew’s heart.

Jeffery wanted to know if Matthew would forget Jolene because of Dolores.

There was an air of tension in the room. Marina tried to persuade Matthew, “Matthew, don’t blame your uncle. He’s doing it for your sake.”

“What does he want?” Matthew repeated her words.

Jeffery became angry as he hadn’t expected Matthew to take such a hard stance.

“Was Dolores that important in his heart?” Jeffery mused.

‘How could Matthew forget Jolene’s death and forgive Victoria because of that woman.’ Jeffery thought.

He became angrier as he thought about it. His body tensed and went cold as ice. ‘Well,’ Jeffery said angrily, ‘Dolores is not right for you. Get a divorce and marry Chloe. Then I’ll set her free.”

Matthew’s eyes were red, as if tinged with blood, “And if I don’t agree to that?”

“Now you’re stunned by love? I will sharpen your vigilance at the expense of the Harris Family so you know what kind of people surround you now.”

Jeffery looked at Matthew and said, “I love you as much as I loved your mother then. That woman has done nothing for you except give birth to children. She’s working in collusion with Victoria, what does she want to do?”

Jeffery made no secret of what he had known at that moment.

“Watered gauze is the Forbis Family’s ancestral business. Dolores has learned how to make it. She even wants to take it to a great height of development. What does she want to do, what does it mean to her?”
