Chapter 54: Chapter 51: 'God'

I'll save the villainess! (GL)Words: 5613

"I'll use all that you've given me,"

"What are you doing?!"

With the huge amount of mana gathering around 'god', it created a huge scene. By the time the mana had gathered into a large amount, everyone had already noticed the scene.

"It's a sacrifice I have to make,"

"Wait, you'll...!"

The girl closes her eyes, recalling her past teachings.

...

"Lilian, how is your magic?"

"I'm practicing hard like you taught me!"

The pair walked hand in hand, lugging behind a large amount of treasure and precious artefacts.

One was a mentor, the other was a student.

The two had a really good relationship.

Lilian, named after the flower, Lily. It is the symbol of purity, describing the beauty whom had been taken under the wing of the powerful demon.

While one was a demon, the other wasn't. In fact, the other was an elf. A pure, majestic and beautiful being specialising in magic.

Elves were in high demons in the slave market due to their beauty and mana, causing most elves to be captured and taken away to auctions to be sold off to the rich.

Lilian was one of the unfortunate few. Having been kept by black market traders for years, the poor elf had grown up in a terrible environment.

Forced to endure daily labour tasks, humiliation and punishment should they disobey. This was the life of a slave, being treated as a lesser being.

That day, she could remembered when she was brought out of the darkness by a warm and bright light.

Followed by the screaming of humans and panicking of the horses who were released by a fire, the next thing that came was an explosion.

Something, or someone, had arrived.

"Demon! Run!"

"Haha, is that all you got?"

Attack after attack, the whole building was soon in flames.

The slaves had been freed, and were currently running away from the place as fast as possible.

Lilian stood before the figure who slowly lowered herself onto the ground.

"An elf?"

"Who are you?"

The demon chuckled, amused by the innocence and naivety of the girl.

"A demon, are you afraid?"

She mocked, the corners of her lips curving upwards. The elf shook her head slowly, stepping closer.

"You saved us, you must be an angel,"

The demon didn't know whether to laugh or to be offended. An angel? They were the opposite of demons, saints who were pure and worshipped by most humans.

She clicked her tongue, shaking her head.

"I'm a demon. A big and scary demon,"

"Then..."

"I think you're a beautiful demon,"

She was stunned. The look of shock made the elf chuckle again, smiling brightly like she never had.

"Can you take me away from here, Miss Demon?"

"Do you know what you're asking?"

Demons had a reputation for mixing with other races, humans, elves, mermaids and even certain angels.

Usually, they would've been taken unwillingly as slaves to be used by multiple demons.

"I trust you,"

"..."

"What's your name?"

"Lilian, Miss,"

"Yes, yes, okay Lily. Now, we're..."

...

Recalling the past, Lilian showed a bitter smile. For the person she once shared those sweet memories with now didn't remember, and had even found others.

It was something she already predicted a long time ago, but she couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret.

The teacher she had in the past had passed on all her knowledge to her, helping her grow and surpass the other elves and excel in her magic.

She continued gathering the mana she had accumulated over some time.

She knew the risks that came with it, suffering from side effects afterwards was a highly possible result.

What could she do?

When her teacher had fallen for someone, even sacrificing her memories and power, defying laws to rescue her...

She had already promised to help her before.

She felt a surge of power in her, her restraints unlocking one by one.

She couldn't learn to control her power till the end, since it was too much to handle, and almost consumed her whole the last time she tried.

She pushed the others back, creating a barrier to prevent them from getting hurt.

She glanced backwards at her teacher, in the exact form she remembered first meeting her.

"Lilian...!"

Her eyes widened.

...

"Damnit, she sealed the area off!"

"It's no use, it's impenetrable,"

"Batman, break it! Please..."

"I'm sorry, I can't..."

'God' was facing off a being no one else could defeat.

I thought it would be fine before, but 'God' wasn't truly a superior being whom had the power above all...

She had just been playing that role...

"Lilian...!"

When the word came out of my mouth, it felt like something I had said too many times before.

Even so, I couldn't remember where I had gotten it from. If I tried to recall hard enough, a feeling of emptiness would wash over me.

"Lilian, Lilian... Lilian...!"

I  repeated it over and over, but I couldn't grasp where it came from.

'God' snapped her head back at the sound of the name, her eyes slightly red and moist.

"You..."

She bit down her lip, mouthing a few words before flashing a last smile.

Then, with her newfound courage, she charged into battle.

...

"I just need to weaken it enough for her to defeat it,"

"In that way, I can finally be of use to her,"

"I'm happy, I'm so happy..."

"She remembers,"

Carrying these thoughts into battle, her last bit of regret flushed away.

After this, she would surely take her time to recount the memories with her mentor, her saviour.

After, this...
