"Y/N, B/N, have you gotten the scripts ready?"
"We have, actually."
"That was quick..."
B/N and I had worked on a script for the class play, and I must say, I'm quite proud of it.
The story follows the Princess and the Commoner, but with a twist. This time, we're making a happy ending where the princess is able to save the commoner and they live happily ever after.
Normally, this kind of script would be your cheesy romance and boring tale... but with the hype going on about Elise and Alisa having a secret relationship...
By having Elise play the princess and Alisa the commoner, we'll be able to attract more students and fellow shippers!
I handed the scripts out to our actors.
I'm playing one of the knights that capture Alisa.
B/N and Prince Leonas are the parents of our princess, Elise.
Along with a few students as part of my knight troops...
Blair will be playing the king... or rather, queen of the rival kingdom.
"N/N.. this is..."
"Y/N... have you taken the rumours too seriously...? This is a romance story... how can Elise and I play the lead characters?"
"Calm down, it's all part of my plan..."
"Plan for...?"
Winning the points, obviously... I will not, however, be revealing my reasons behind... *ahem* *ahem*
"Uhm... N/N... is this a kiss scene?"
"Why, of course. What better way to have everyone be more invested in a romance story than a kiss scene?"
"Uhuh..."
Both looked reluctant to act their part.
"Trust the process. Let's just go over the lines first, okay?"
I fold my arms.
"Elise, you first."
"Commoner... I will save you...?"
"Aah... please help me princess... ahhh...."
"Hold on, why do you two sound so sarcastic?! Elise, your commoner is about to die, get your head in the game!!"
"Oh, commoner... Don't die on me... oh no..."
"Princess... It hurts, please rescue me..."
Yeah, something's definitely wrong.
They're reading off the scripts, but there isn't any emotion...
I take a look at the lines on the script again, sighing.
"Come on, like this."
I then put on my most desperate and dramatic expression.
"Princess! Please, save me...!"
I wipe away a fake tear as they both judge me in silence.
"A-anyway... something like that. Okay?"
Alisa sighs.
"Why are you so adamant on making us both the leads in this story?"
"It does suit you two, doesn't it?"
"Not at all, no."
"Look, Y/N, you can't just get us to act out such a scene when we literally don't see each other that way..."
"It's just a little act..."
"Still... it couldn't be more awkward."
Elise nods.
"If I were doing this scene with you, it might be less... weird."
Alisa glances over.
"With me? I'm playing the knight that captures the commoner..."
"Hmm... I have... an idea..."
I have... a bad feeling.
...
"You want to have a love triangle between the princess, commoner and knight?!"
"Yes.. it does make the story more interesting, doesn't it?"
"The knight kidnapped the commoner. How is she supposed to fall in love with the knight?!"
"Ever heard of Stockholm Syndrome?"
"..."
"Well how does the princess fall in love with the knight, then?"
"Same thing."
"Excuse me?"
"The first attempt to save the commoner will fail. Both get kidnapped, and end up falling in love with a knight who in turn helps the two escape."
Doesn't that change the whole story then...?
The script I worked so hard to write...
"Then how bout this, we can try improvising."
"Improvising...?"
Elise nods.
"For example..."
She clears her throat.
"My role to play is to capture the two lovers and end them.. to think I would fall for both as time passed. I cannot witness the death of the two when their execution date nears. So, I shall release you, and help you escape."
"How does that make sense?"
"If you think about it... it kinda does. If the knight betrays her own kingdom to help the princess and commoner escape..."
"Well what happens to the knight in the end?"
"She either gets executed by the kingdom or escapes and lives happily ever after with the two."
I guess it could work... but it'd be a little risky...
The whole point of having the two of them as lead characters is because of the rumours... if I get added into the mix, won't more rumours spread?
If more rumours spread though... more points?
It's a fifty-fifty... and I don't always win them so... more like a seventy five-twenty five...
I'll see what I can do. I'll discuss the changes with B/N first... he'll most likely agree though...
Wait, then what happens to the heartwarming kiss scene?
Hmm...
"Princess... commoner... I have fallen for the two of you..."
"Our knight... we love you."
Their faces lean closer...
And they do the boombayah.
The end.
I bury my face in my hands.
What the hell was I thinking...
We need to keep the play PG 16...!
As for the new script...
I scribble a few lines onto the paper.
It could work...
