I've recovered from my wound in a few days, but Elise hasn't let her guard down at all...
"N/N, you shouldn't move around so much..."
"I just got up from bed... what are you even doing in my room at this time...?"
"N/N, where are you going? I'll come with you."
"I'm going to bathe..."
"N/N, allow me to do your work for you.."
"That actually doesn't sound too bad- I mean, I'm perfectly capable of doing it, thanks..."
Despite reassuring her so many times, I guess she's still worried.
Today, students are gathered in the hall for a special announcement. Apparently the time has come for first-year students to be recruited to join the student council.
While it does have many perks including skipping lessons for free and having a fancy room all to yourself, it does have some strict requirements...
Not only must the student have a high ranking in the level, they also have to be influential figures. As for the more likely candidates...
Alisa. As expected of the heroine. She's a high ranking student with good grades and light magic. Despite being a commoner, she has gained quite the reputation due to her rare magic.
Elise. With strong magic and a noble background, she is undoubtedly one of the more popular candidates amongst students.
Blair. With her legendary familiar dragon as well as her dark magic, she is an extremely strong opponent. With her noble background and close relationship with the prince, she has been able to gain many nobles' respect.
Leonas. The crown prince, with his royalty... he is a favourite. Along with his looks, which are popular with the female students...
Those four are surely going to join. The only debatable topic is which one will be the student council president.
As the students strolled into the halls, murmurs spread through. With Elise, Alisa and Blair walking beside me, I've also become an object of attention in school... probably not enough for me to be a candidate though.
*ahem*
"Dear students, I am your student council president. Today, we have gathered to announce the election of the student council members. Now, as many of you may have heard, only the most exceptional students may become candidates."
He looks over to Prince Leonas.
"Now, a promising candidate, his royal highness will take the stage for a speech."
He then gestures for Prince Leonas to take the stage.
When he does, the audience suddenly seems more interested.
"Greetings, fellow students. I am your crown prince, Leonas. As a candidate of the student council, I am here to make a speech to all our aspiring students. The council only allows the elite. Unless you're confident, I do hope you reconsider your choices. A select few of students have been personally invited by this year's council president to join the council, including myself. As for the rest, registration will be handled on a later date. That is all for now."
The audience claps for him. Even though I say audience, we all know it's mainly his fan club including my dearest brother...
"Prince Leonas is going to be in the council... Should I join too?"
As expected, simps. I would never-
"N/N, I've been invited to join the council too..."
Maybe I could consider joining...
Not that I have any motives or anything... Just for the experience, yeah.
The students disperse later on, many going straight to apply to join the council.
"Ah, Miss L/N?"
Hm? The council president...
"I'd like to have a word with you, if you don't mind."
"Sure..."
"You see... I'd like you to take on the role of student council president."
"Pardon?"
I was so shocked I started speaking in fancy language.
*ahem*
"I mean, why so?"
"Regarding the dungeon case, I heard about how you've helped find a missing student. You've really helped the academy out despite being a first year. Besides, with the rumours going around that you lead the group of... nobles around..."
Me? Lead a group of nobles around?
"Are you sure you have the right person...?"
I remember being dragged around more if anything.
"I'm sure of it. You're most suited. With your influence, being able to get high ranking nobles and even the crown prince on your side, I believe that you are perfect for the job."
"I think you misunderstand... I can't do speeches... I can't even talk to strangers..."
"No, I'm certain of it. Please consider, I'll await your answer. Find me in the council room whenever you've decided."
He left... just like that...
Council president... huh...
It's kinda hard to imagine since I've been slaving away in a company my whole life...
Then again, being able to boss that red flag of a prince around does sound nice...
Come to think of it, I could get my brother to join too. I'm sure he'd want to anyway since Leonas is going to be there.
Another problem though... I'll have to socialise and all that, it's something I'm terrible at.
Oh well.
