Chapter 20: Chapter 18: The new teacher

I'll save the villainess! (GL)Words: 6228

What is god doing here?! And she's still in the same form as the last time I met her...

"Woah, is that our teacher? She looks so young though..."

Alisa seems surprised. The original teacher in the book was a man in his late thirties, how did he even get replaced anyways?

God glances at me and sends a wink my way... this is sure to spark some rumours...

"Snap!"

Elise seems to have broken her pencil...

God walks over to the centre of the room.

"Hello students! My name is Lily. You may address me as Miss Lily or just my name. I don't care for formalities. Let's have fun learning together!"

She makes a cute pose with one eye closed.

Most of the students were charmed. And not just males.

"Now, today, we're going to go over the basics of fighting. These include sword fights and fist fights. First of all, I'd like to have a student come up in front for a demonstration..."

Many students raise their hands to volunteer, eager to please the teacher and become the favourite student... she doesn't bat an eye to them, and looks straight in my direction...

"Miss L/N, I heard you have experience in sword fighting. Care to share?"

I blinked.

One of an introvert's worst nightmares..

I awkwardly walk to the front of the class. She hands me a sword.

"Now then, I'd like you to attack me, Miss L/N."

Wait what? Just attack her like that?

"If you're not going to attack, I will~"

She dashes forward, and in the blink of an eye, she's right in front of me with her blade.

"...?!"

I narrowly dodged backwards. As expected of god.. she's fast...

I duck under and go in for a slash. She doesn't block or dodge?

"Wait..."

It's a trap! My eyes widened as she kneed me in the stomach. That's gonna hurt in the morning...

I heard a wince from the students.

"That's gotta hurt..."

I leaped two steps back, recovering from the impact.

"Miss Lily...don't you hold back on your students at all...?"

She smiles innocently like she didn't just hurt me.

"My, what's the fun in that?"

This teacher....

I dash forward and our blades clash a few times, her movements are swift, but her attacks are powerful...

It seems my current fighting style won't work.. in that case...

I smirk to myself.

"Let's change things up a bit."

God was stunned for a second, but she quickly recovers and swings her blade at me. I don't bother blocking or dodging. I go straight in for the attack.

God's attack was about to hit, but she switched to defence at my unexpected attack.

"You're using this tactic now? Not focussing on defence at all..."

I was about to attack again, but she sheathed her blade.

"That's all for the demonstration. You may go back to your seat now."

I head back, and I realised more students were staring... in awe that I was able to level with the teacher...

That wasn't god's true strength, I knew. God was way stronger, plus she has magic. There's no way I'd beat her in a real fight.

God continues on with her lecture, teaching about the origin of certain sword styles, as well as the sword style students would be learning.

While she was teaching about the different sword styles, I noticed that they were completely different from those back at Earth.

I'm not an experienced swordsman or anything, but some occasional videos I found on online platforms while scrolling through an endless amount of videos taught me something.

The sword styles here for were... graceful. They weren't like what I did earlier, focussing on attack and not defending. The sword styles here were more suited for performances.

Even though they covered both offence and defence, it was simple and didn't have many tricks or moves. If the element of surprise was a trick, they'd have none of it.

Everything in the sword style was so predictable... they were taught to knights, so I'm guessing those knights were supposed to be graceful in fights.

As for my own sword style, it was really just a mix of styles I found online and manga. It was more sloppy and consisted of underhand tricks...

After the lecture ended, the students left to go back to their dormitories. I left something back in class, so I went to retrieve it. I grabbed my item and was ready to leave...

"How was the lecture today~?"

A familiar voice sounded from behind me. I turned to face god.

"God... Last time you were an assassin, why are you a professor now...?"

"Ehe~ I wanted to visit you. Also, that trick you pulled during class time was a good one."

She winks. I deadpan.

"Do you really have nothing to do as a god?"

She pouted. If it weren't for me knowing her personality, I'd think the gesture was cute.

"Don't say that~ do you know how much trouble I went through trying to revive you and reincarnating you here?"

I sigh. I guess she's right. Even if I didn't ask to be here, I wouldn't have enjoyed dying so early... or maybe not, but at least I have a second chance in life, yay.

I sigh.

"Still, you became a teacher here so suddenly..."

"It's fine~ Besides, isn't it more interesting having me as your teacher?"

I guess she's right though. At least I'll be able to find her easily now unlike last time when she disappeared...

"N/N. Are you done?"

"Huh? Elise? When did you get here? I told you to leave without me first..."

Elise walks over to me and grabs my hand, turning back to glare at god before dragging me out the classroom.

"Elise? What's wrong-"

"N/N, I don't like her. You should stay away from her too."

"Huh? Why?"

"Just do it, promise me. Okay?"

I bite my lip. This will be hard... she's a teacher here, so I'll interact with her either way. Besides, she's god. She's pretty much the only person who knows the system well enough that I could ask her questions and all that...

Then again, if I say no to Elise, she'll get angry...

"I'll try. Don't get upset, okay?"

She nods her head slowly.

"Mnh."

N/N's relationship with that teacher... there's something she's hiding from me. I ball my fists. Does she not trust me enough?

This can't happen. If N/N keeps talking to her like that, she might take her away from me... I can't let that happen...

N/N has already charmed enough people... I don't want to share her... that teacher and her seem to have a close relationship...

N/N... you're mine... don't ever think of leaving me.
