Chapter 3: Interlude 2: POV Kami-Sama

The Eminence in SmartphoneWords: 7119

As God of the worlds, my position is often complicated. Not only do you have to create the worlds and its inhabitants, but you also have to make sure they grow and develop in the right direction. But you cannot intervene too much, or the people will become too dependent on you. You need to be subtle, making people wonder if you actually help.

The truth is, I cannot be everywhere at the same time, and I have to leave the world to develop on its own once its inhabitants have developed enough to choose their own path. After all, humans have free will, I cannot take them by the hand the entire time.

But that, of course, comes with a risk. Sometimes the path mankind chooses is the path of self-destruction. Sometimes they create devastating weapons to fight one another, causing their premature extinction, or sometimes they try to replace us gods by eliminating us. There are some times where the gods decide to bless some humans, making them prodigies of the sword, technology, magic, weapons, etc. These prodigies often become arrogant and try to dominate others with their power. They create factions that are in constant conflict, or worse, the dominant factions get together and create an unfair system that benefits them and only them. These worlds end up rotting from the inside, becoming a pit of misery for all except for a few elites.

In the end, if a world gets to the point where there is no way to save it, there is only one option. The world must be destroyed. As the god of the worlds, it hurts to see a world I created destroyed like that, so this is my last resort. But even I have to admit that some worlds are beyond salvation. This is when my son comes in, the god of destruction. When a world can no longer be saved, he will descend to said world and reduce it to nothing so a new world can be born from the ashes.

I admit my son doesn't do much most of the time, especially because I do anything in my power, so he doesn't have to intervene, such as create legendary weapons, send heroes, and even perform a couple of miracles to bring people hope. My son is adamant about work, and he wants to destroy the worlds even if there is still hope. Like the time Touya's world was menaced by an evil god and his golden mutants. I always believed in Touya, but my son just wanted to go for the easy solution and destroy the world. In the end, I convinced my son to give Touya a chance, and he could destroy another world in the meantime. A world that I recognized was beyond hope.

A world of swords and magic where a mysterious cult has corrupted every level of society. The Cult of the Demon Diabolos not only had taken over complete control of their world, but its founder members learned the secrets of immortality so their rule would never end. A world without hope needed to end.

This is why I was so surprised when my son told me that he had decided not to destroy that world.

"I don't get it. First, you tell me that Touya's world is beyond salvation, but now you tell me that you would rather not destroy a world that is actually beyond salvation. Can you explain to me what?

"Well, I thought that I couldn't keep being so stubborn all the time. It' s time to change things, What do you say?"

"What made you change?"

"To be honest, it was your boy, Touya. Thanks to him, I realized the potential of reincarnated souls."

I frowned, not liking where this was going. "Are you telling me you plan to reincarnate someone in that world?"

"Yes, of course! I found a very interesting soul. The dude is completely bonkers, and he is also a very skilled fighter. He is literally a walking catastrophe! I can only imagine what he could achieve if he reincarnates with his memories untouched in a world of swords and magic."

My eyes widened. It couldn't be! He wouldn't dare, right? I killed Touya, but it was an accident. What he is suggesting is to purposely kill this person so he can be reincarnated in this world. I have to scold him; maybe it is not too late. I decided to confirm my suspicions first.

"Tell me, did you actually kill someone to make them reincarnate?"

"What? Of course not! I am not you, old man." said my son, pulling a soul from his pocket. This moron died of his own stupidity. I don't see why not take advantage of it."

I frowned. "I see. If you didn't kill him, why did you bring his soul here?"

"I know that reconstructing his body here and now is out of the question. Since he died in his world without any divine intervention, he has to start his life over. I just have to find a pregnant woman and put this soul inside the embryo. But I decided to bring his soul to the divine realm first so he could witness the truth of magic power, so I can make sure his powers have no precedent in this new world."

"Before I give you permission to continue with this plan of yours, can you tell me where this soul is from?"

"Oh, you'll find this hilarious. This person is from the same world Touya came from."

"What?!"

"As a matter of fact, he was classmates with Touya at some point. His name was Minoru Kagenou."

I looked at my son and nodded.

"Fine, you can reincarnate his soul, but only because I like that you are trying new things. But if this doesn't work... "

"I will destroy the world right away. I promise."

I smiled at my son and gave him green light to do as he pleased.

I thought he would fail. This reincarnated soul would be tempted by the Cult of Diabolos and join their lines as many heroes I sent before. In my wildest dreams, I thought that the boy could create an organization able to go toe to toe with the Cult of Diabolos. But also, I knew my son told me that this kid was crazy, but I never imagined how crazy.

I remember it as it was yesterday. I was watching over the world from my TV, when I changed the channel to this world where Kagenou lived. I couldn't believe my eyes. There he was, wearing a black trench coat, facing a member of the Cult.

"Once there was a man who dreamed of withstanding a nuclear explosion. But no matter how much he trained his muscles, perfected his technique, and sharpen his mind, there were heights he could not achieve. But I couldn't give up. Then, I arrived at a single solution. If I don't want to be vaporize by a nuclear explosion, I just have to become nuclear myself!"

"You're out of your mind!"

I couldn't agree more with this man. I think his name was Zenon or something.

"Let the true meaning of omnipotence be carved into your soul. I... Am... Atomic..."

I had to change the channel at that point. This young man is not well in the head, but I understand he is his world's last hope.

And now the Cult is scared and desperate to escape from him. To the point where they created a gate between worlds and arrived in Touya's world. I love Touya, but he doesn't have what it takes to destroy the Cult of Diabolos for good. Even if my common sense is telling me that this cannot end well, I have to allow Kagenou-kun to cross the border between worlds to chase the Cult.

But it may be a good idea to warn Touya that, no matter what he sees, he should not fight Kagenou. If they fight, their worlds will not survive.
