Screwing Over a Litter of Pups
In a normal family, the female usually had the final say. Even though Bai Qingqing didnât have such a mentality, Parker was used to following her wishes.
At night, Parker and Winston dug a very wide pit around the birdâs shelter according to Bai Qingqingâs design. They then placed a thin layer of branches and leaves and scattered some dirt on top.
Snowflakes gradually fell from the sky, perfectly hiding the trap the next day. Now, they just hoped that there wouldnât be hail.
The cubs didnât show up for more than ten days, possibly because they were genuinely afraid of the cold.
One night after temperatures just barely rose, Bai Qingqing was asleep when she heard a few vague and muffled thuds.
She tentatively perked up her ears and tried to listen out. She softly asked Parker, âDid you hear anything?â
âIf you can hear it, of course I can hear it,â Parker excitedly replied. He got up and said, âIâll go outside to take a look.â
Bai Qingqing quickly replied, âIâll come with you.â
Parker pressed on her shoulders to make her sit, then covered her firmly with the blanket. âDonât move. Iâll be right back.â
Bai Qingqing didnât resist as she would have to wear many layers of clothes if she got up. âOkay.â
Bai Qingqing stared at the doorway after watching him leave.
Parker returned in no time. Bai Qingqingâs eyes lit up and she immediately asked, âSo?â
He laughed heartily, the pent-up anger in his heart finally disappearing. âItâs them. Theyâve all fallen into the pit.â
âTheyâre not hurt, are they?â Bai Qingqing initially just wanted to get back at the children, but now that they had finally been captured, she couldnât bear to see them come to harm. They were only a few months old, after all.
âWe shouldâve placed some soft stuff in the pit to cushion their fall.â
âThe pitâs not deep. They wonât get hurt.â Parker lifted the blanket and was about to climb into bed. Bai Qingqing breathed a sigh of relief, then pressed down on the blanket so that Parker wouldnât be able to climb in. âThatâs good. Let them out first.â
Parker immediately pulled a long face and crouched at the side firmly. âNo. Weâll talk about this tomorrow.â
âWhat if they freeze to death?â Bai Qingqing wrapped the blanket around herself and sat up. âIf you donât go, Iâll go. What if they die?â
âThey wonât.â Parker resignedly pressed her against the nest. âI didnât go too far. Itâs very warm in the pit. They wonât freeze.â
Bai Qingqing stared at Parker doubtfully for a moment before saying, âOkay. I believe you.â
The next day, Bai Qingqing was woken up by the commotion outside. Rosa was hysterically cursing and many beastmen were growling in preparation to fight.
Something had happened.
Bai Qingqing was instantly awake. She lifted the blanket and quickly put on her clothes.
It was foggy outside and the air was cold and humid as the sun had not risen yet. The moment Bai Qingqing walked to the main door, she saw a pair of scary green eyes staring at her through the fog. She was so frightened that she stepped backward.
âWere you woken up by the noise?â Parker asked as he held onto her. His anger caused the animal stripes on his face to look darker.
At that moment, the pups climbed out of the pit one by one. Rosa quickly walked over to help them up, then suddenly pointed at Bai Qingqing and furiously shouted, âHow dare you to hurt children. Iâm going to see the ape king and make sure he sells you off!â
Bai Qingqing was afraid of beastsâit was an instinctual fear of the strong as the weak one. But when it came to Rosa, she wasnât scared in the slightest.
âI just dug a pit at my house. Whatâs that got to do with all of you?â Bai Qingqing asked, pretending to not know a thing. She even blinked at Rosa innocently. âWho knew that your pups would come all the way here to our territory and play? That doesnât seem to be allowed.â
The white tigerâs whiskers twitched as he stood at the side quietly. He tried his best to keep a straight face.
How is she so cute? Her expressions are too amusing. I want to see her do that again.
