I can say that I slept very well. I don't know what possessed me last night to tell Julia about the night Vincent died, but it was a huge relief. Now I wake up with a great feeling. I'm still in Julia's arms. She gently caresses my arm. "Good morning," I say softly. I can sense that Julia is a little shocked by it. Not much later she gives me a kiss on the head. "Good morning Sunshine. I didn't wake you up, did I? ". I shake my head and lie down even more. "Slept well? ". I nod. "I slept wonderfully. You? ". I look up to Julia when I ask. Her face glows. "Me too," she says with a smile on her face. "Do you really have to leave today? ". I nod and rest my head on her chest. "Unfortunately yes. So I jump in the shower, otherwise it will be rushing again. If you want you can use my shower afterwards or if you can't wait you can use yesterday's bathroom". Or you can shower with me, I think to myself, but I won't say that out loud. I'm making it harder and harder for myself, but I just can't help it. "Phew I'm not that fast. I need a cup of coffee first". I turn completely on top of Julia and look at her with a smile. "Are you also someone you can't say anything to until you've had your coffee? A few rooms further is also someone like that ". Julia shrugs. "It's not that bad, but I do need it to wake up." I kiss her forehead and stand up. "Just lie still. I'll take care of the coffee, so you can wake up here in peace". Before I leave the bedroom I see that smile on Julia's face, which I love so much.
I find Silvia in the kitchen. "Good morning. Since when are you out of bed before ten? " I say and walk over to give her a kiss. This feels so different from the kiss with Julia. Only when I think back to it does my heart beat faster again. "Good morning, I was already shocked myself. I didn't know you drank coffee," she says when she sees me filling a mug with coffee. "I do not do that either. This one is for Julia". Silvia smiles at me. "You've never done that for me before." I give her a little push. "And thank you. I don't want to know how many times I brought you breakfast in bed. That must have made quite an impression on you." Silvia puts an arm around me. "It was just a joke. I have appreciated it every time. Now bring that coffee upstairs. Otherwise it's already cold and you really have to get ready". I do as she says and go back upstairs.
Arriving in the bedroom I see that Julia is already half asleep. I sit next to her on the bed and put the mug on the bedside table. "Here's your coffee. I'm going to take a shower and then I'm going to leave right away. Stay here as long as you want". In the meantime I carefully remove some hair from her face. "Thank you ". She says a little sleepy. Julia is very cute like this. I kiss her forehead and then stand up. I quickly find some clothes to put on and then go to the bathroom.
The meeting went on and on. It's already half past five when I get home. In the living room I find Silvia. "You should have told me it would take so long," I say as I fall on the couch. "Sorry, I didn't know that either. How did it go? ". I sigh. "I think they will change a lot again. Where's Julia anyway? ". Silvia points up. "She went to bed half an hour ago. Speaking of Julia. Where did she sleep last night? ". I shrug. "In a bed". Silvia laughs. "Yeah, I already assumed that. But then the question is in which bed. I saw her coming out of your bedroom this morning". I give her a small smile. "Then she might have slept there." I see Silvia's eyes widen. "Sil, we just slept. I asked Julia yesterday if she wanted to sleep next to me. I feel safe with her". I can see that Silvia understands me. "Did you sleep well? ". I nod with a smile on my face. "I slept wonderfully. What have you been doing all day? ". When I see Silvia's face, I don't know if I want to know. "Good to hear. We mostly lay on the beach and talked. Get to know each other a little better. I can understand why you like her so much. Furthermore, I have mainly been busy reading comments ". I look at her questioningly. "Of which? ". She gives me a small smile. "What did you think? Can't remember what you posted online yesterday? ". I had indeed completely forgotten about that. "Oh yeah. How bad is it? ". Silvia shrugs. "It goes a bit in all directions. In any case, everyone notices how you look with Julia. Most see it as more than a friendship. Opinions differ on that. Most are positive. You are even accused of cheating because they think you and Patrick are a couple". She says the latter with a laugh. "Okay. Was it too much? What I posted". "I do not know. It depends on what you wanted to tell with it". I shrug. "I don't really know exactly. I wanted to at least try to make it clear that Patrick and I are not a thing. Furthermore, I wanted to let them know how I feel". Silvia gives me a smile. "You know you're going to get questions now. What are you going to say when asked about Julia? ". "That she is a good friend". Silvia looks at me seriously. "When are you going to be honest with her and yourself? ". I sigh. "Sil you know I can't do that. I can't lose her". Silvia shakes her head. "How long will it take for you to realize that is not going to happen". I'm glad we'll hear Julia is coming and we can stop talking about it.
After dinner I went to bed for a while. I'm now joining Julia and Silvia outside. "It looks nice here". They have lit a fire and put all kinds of snacks on the table. "It was also very nice, until now," says Silvia with a smile. "Okay then I'll go again". I am standing next to Julia, who is sitting on a couch. "No way ". Before I know it, Julia has pulled me onto her lap. "Sorry Sil, I'm forced to stay here." Julia has put her arms around me. I must admit that I like it that way. "How is Mark? ". Silvia was looking at us with a smile on her face, but it's gone now when I ask. "See, the fun is gone," she says with a sigh. "Sorry I know, but you haven't said anything about him all weekend." If I say that, I'll just get off Julia's lap and sit next to her. Her hands moved in places that prevented me from really concentrating on the conversation. "There is not much to say either. I haven't heard from him all weekend." I look at Silvia a bit surprised. "I know things aren't going well between you, but is it really that bad? ". She nods. "Why didn't you say that before? ". Silvia shrugs. "I had to sort some things out. Without anyone else's opinion and I don't mean that wrong". I give her a smile. "I know that. Were you able to sort it out a bit? ". She nods. "I'm done with it," she says with a sigh. "Sorry, I really hoped you had finally found someone. You so deserve it". I really hope she meets the one, one day. If anyone deserves it, it's Silvia.
In the meantime I lay down and put my head on Julia's lap. Who immediately starts playing with my hair again. Which puts a smile on my face and also on Silvia's. "Someday I will meet the right one. Maybe I should switch to women," says Silvia with a laugh. "I can recommend that." Smiling, Silvia shakes her head. "No, that's not for me," she says. "Have you ever tried it? ". Silvia nods. I look at her in surprise. "What? You never told me about that". I sat up straight and gave her my full attention. "That was also a long time ago. I think I was about eighteen years old when I did some experimenting. Just give me a man," says Silvia laughing. "When did you know you like women? ". Julia was silent the whole time, but now also joins the conversation. I look at her and shrug. "I don't really know any better. I once did it with a boy, but that was really once and never again," I say laughing. "Have you never experimented?" Silvia asks Julia. "I've had my wild time, but you probably mean if I've ever done anything with a woman. The answer to that is no," says Julia. "You do not know what you are missing ". I give her a wink when I say that with a smile. "You are never too old to try." It is already a bit dark, but when Silvia says that I see Julia's cheeks turn a bit red. I also think she feels a bit uncomfortable about it. "But wild time? ". So I turn the conversation around a bit. "Because of the situation I was in at home, I really enjoyed myself at school. I didn't really have the best name a woman can have at school. If you know what I mean? ". I nod. "When I think back on it now, I am ashamed. But I was having the time of my life at school then," she says with a laugh. "If you felt good about it then, it's fine." It's Silvia who says it. "I do not know. I'm not exactly proud of it, but it made me forget everything for a while. Now we have talked enough about me". I can also see from Julia that she doesn't want to talk about it any further. "But to go back to the beginning of this conversation. Sil, you know you're always welcome here, don't you? ". Silvia nods. "Maybe I will stay for a while. I'd rather not be alone for a while, but first have to talk to Mark on Monday." I nod understandingly.
We've been out for a few hours. I've been lying with my head on Julia's lap for a long time now. Of course she is playing with my hair all the time. "I think I'll just go to bed," says Julia. "That's a pretty good idea." When Silvia says that, she also gets up to clear the table. I sit up straight. Julia comes closer to me. "I liked last night," she whispers in my ear. I suddenly get a smile on my face. The butterflies are flying around in my stomach, but I have to put that aside. "You're very welcome," I say softly when I look at Julia. Which also makes her smile. "You guys just go upstairs. Today it's my turn to clean up". I get up and give Silvia a kiss. "Thank you. Sleep well. See you again tomorrow". Silvia pulls me into a hug. "Sleep well and behave yourself," she whispers in my ear. She lets go of me and gives me a wink. I just shake my head. Julia and Silvia also give each other a hug. Then I leave with Julia upstairs.
When we are in bed, Julia and I kiss again. I really have to hold back. I also have the feeling that our lips were together longer than yesterday, but I'm imagine that. I half lie over Julia and rest my head on her chest. She has really found a new hobby, because right away she is playing with my hair again. I am calmly caressing her other arm, which she has on her stomach. We don't say a word and it's certainly not an awkward silence. This is something I could really get used to, but I also know that this won't happen more often.
I'm already half asleep when I hear my phone. "Sorry, I have to look at that message. It is from Silvia". I can hear it from the sound. I know she's not just sending me anything right now. Julia hands me my phone.
S: Sorry to bother you, but there's a thunderstorm.
K: Seriously? What are you waiting for then?
S: What do you think?
K: Sil more than sleeping really doesn't happen here. So what are you waiting for.
"What is going on?" Julia asks. "Apparently there is a thunderstorm. Silvia is quite afraid of that". "Why doesn't she come over here? ". I look at Julia with a smile. "That's what I said, but she knows you're here." Julia looks at me a bit surprised. "So? There's plenty of room. Otherwise you just have to get closer to me." I quickly turn my head away to hide my big smile. I can hear the thunderstorm outside now too.
S: Are you sure?
K: Yes of course. Julia also says that there is plenty of room here.
Not much later, Silvia enters the bedroom and crawls into bed with us. "I'm sorry, but if there's one thing I can't stand, it's thunder," she says softly. "You are certainly not the only one who suffers from this. Does that make you feel a little safer? ". Silvia nods when Julia asks. Then it falls silent again. Silvia looks at me with a smile. "You are comfortable are you? she asks softly. I give her a look that tells her to be quiet. "Do not worry. She sleeps ". I had already noticed that too, but you will just see Julia waking up again. "Yes, I'm lying comfortably and now I'm going to sleep. Good night ". I close my eyes, because I can't stand Silvia's grin anymore.
The nextmorning Julia and I are surprised by Silvia with breakfast in bed.Unfortunately, after that it was time for Julia to go home. I had a reallywonderful weekend. The only problem is that my feeling for Julia has becomeeven stronger.
