âFinally! Hello?â
âHey. I'm guessing your phone died?â
âYes! It was absolutely torturous. Caden didn't have a portable charger in his car. Could you believe that?â
âHe should get one.â
âRight! Anyway, where were you? I heard something about tickets.â
âIt was nothing. Are you home?â
âYep.â
âWould you like to meet for dinner?â
âWhat?â
âDinner. You said that you knew a good sushi place, right?â
âWait, are you flying back for dinner? Is this what rich people do?â
âI technically could, but I was too busy. Wouldn't be very productive.â
âOh. So you're actually going to fly here for dinner?â
âI'm already here. Came back two nights ago.â
âAnd you're only telling me now?â
âHey, I didn't think there was a need to.â
âYou should've! Oh my gosh, I knew you were at the carnival. You were, weren't you?â
âFine, I was. I wanted to surprise you, but your phone died and I had absolutely no idea what you looked like, so I left.â
âIt would've been so romantic.â
âYeah?â
âAnyway, why are you back this early?â
âCame back to settle some things. I'm leaving again tomorrow morning, so I thought we could meet tonight.â
âOh... I'd love to, but I don't have any makeup on.â
âIt's fine.â
âNo, it's not. I have to look perfect for my in-laws.â
âIn-laws?â
âYes! Your parents. Aren't you sending them a picture?â
âWe could get the picture some other time.â
âWhat you're saying now is that you'd like to meet me again after this?â
âI'd be glad to.â
âOh my gosh! I'll wash up and text you the address. Dress casually! Don't come in a suit or something. I'd be underdressed next to you.â
âAlright, see you.â
âSee you!â
