Chapter 540 Mr. Brighthall?
Kyran was startled and couldnât help but curl his lips to laugh at himself. âReally?â
âYeah, silly.â Deirdre nestled on the sofa and smiled to herself for a while before she rose to her feet with a pillow in her arms. âDid you not have time to rest when you arrived in Germia?â
âYes.â Kyran closed his eyes and put his hands on his forehead, looking tired and weak.
While sitting on the cold, long chair in the hospital, he felt lonely, as if he was in the wild.
It was too quiet in his surroundings, so quiet that he inexplicably felt like listening to Deirdreâs voice.
Yet, he couldnât reach her even after making a few calls. While trying to control his anxiousness because he knew Deirdre didnât like him to be too jealous, he wanted to know with whom Deirdre was talking.
âHowâs your father? Has he gotten better?â
Kyranâs eyes turned gloomy. âHeâs just gotten out of the emergency room.â
âEmergency room? How can it be so serious?â Deirdre frowned.
âHe has a weak heart, but heâs almost out of danger already.â
âHeart?â Inexplicably, Deirdre thought of Madame Brighthall.
Madame Brighthall had some health issues with her heart as well. Hence, she would always carry medicine with her and was often hospitalized. It was after Brendanâs marriage that her health issues gradually stabilized.
Soon, Deidre became aware that she had been thinking nonsense again.
âGlad that heâs out of danger. Return to the hotel early to rest so that you wonât fall sick when your father has gotten well.â
âOkay.â
As soon as Kyran agreed, Deirdre heard the sound of high heels and the voice of a nurse.â Mr.
Brighthall! It turns out that youâre here! Madame is-â
Kyran was anxious. He hurriedly raised his head to look at the nurse, shook his head with wary eyes, and the nurse stopped talking immediately.
Deirdreâs heart was burning, and her heart was pounding fast. âMr. Brighthall?â
Sam, beside Kyran, responded quickly by altering his voice and answered, âIs my mom alright? Are her test results out yet?â
The nurse uneasily glanced at the two men before saying, âYes, the test results are out. Thereâs a shadow in the lung, so the doctor would like you to go to him.â
âAlright, Iâll be there immediately.â
Sam went along with the nurse. When Deirdre heard the sound of their footsteps, she gradually calmed herself. But she still asked curiously, âArenât you in Germia? Why are there Berth People around you?â
âItâs the private hospital owned by my friend. There is a floor dedicated to medical treatment for Berth People. Hence everyone here is from Berth.â
âOh, I see.â
Deirdre chuckled. She had been so panicked that her mind had gone blank. Now that she thought back, she felt that it was rather funny.
âItâs late now, do rest early.â
âOkay.â Before Kyran ended the call, he couldnât help but say, âDeirdre, I miss you.â
Deirdre said with a happy smile, âMe too.â
Before Kyran could say anything else, Deirdre ended the call. She was blushing, and her heart was pounding fast.
Kyran gazed tenderly at the phone screen until it turned dark. Following that, he turned to Sam next to him, who had just returned, and his expression gradually turned cold and indifferent, as if this was his true self.
That tender Kyran only belonged to Deirdre.
âWhatâs wrong?â
âMadame is awake. But because of Ms. McKinneyâs matter, she wanted to meet you. She wanted to verify whether Ms. McKinney has truly done that.â
Kyran had already guessed it and paced into the room.
Madame Brighthall was seen sitting on the bed. She no longer looked elegant-her hair was disheveled and her face pale, as if she had gotten ten years older overnight.
