Chapter 381 Do You Need Me To Feed You?
âDeirdre, I will never give you a chance to stand in front of Brendan intact!
Deirdre opened her eyes from sleepiness. She didnât know when she had fallen asleep. Maybe she was too intense.
She fumbled to get up. âKyran, are you there?â
Deirdre heard the closing sound of a book. After a while, a voice rang out from the phone. âYouâve woken up?â
âYes.â Deirdre was embarrassed. âHow long have I been asleep?â
âNot long, just about ten minutes.â
That wasnât too long. Deirdre breathed a sigh of relief and apologized, âIâm sorry. I came here to take care of you, but I didnât expect to fall asleep.â
âI have nothing to do in the ward, anyway. But itâs you whoâs too tired. You should have taken some good rest instead.â
Deirdre smiled and fumbled to put on her shoes. âWait a minute. Iâll ask the nurse when the meals will be delivered.â
âIt has already been delivered. Kyran said, âIt was placed on the table in front of you three minutes ago.â
Deirdre stretched out her hand, and she really touched the table and the lunch box. She opened it carefully and asked, âKyran, is it not convenient for you to eat?â
Not to mention Kyran was lying flat on the bed, he only had one hand usable.
âIâll just eat the soaked cookies later. Itâs not so convenient for me to eat porridge.â
Deirdre cautiously asked, âDo you need me to feed you?â
Kyran chuckled, âNo, you can eat first yourself. Donât worry about me. The nurse has already put some cookies there. I will eat them later.â
âOkay.â Deirdre lowered her head, and she slightly blushed while nibbling her food. She held the handle of the spoon very close to her mouth so that she wouldnât accidentally push it on her face.
Kyran also helped himself with some cookies. When Deirdre finished eating, she asked Kyran, âDo your want some water?â
âNo, thanksâ
It was still a negative answer, which made Deirdre rather embarrassed. âKyran, you havenât drank water all day Arenât you thirsty? Besides, half of the reason I stay here is to take care of you, or do you think it is too troublesome for me to help?â
When Kyran saw Deirdre looking downcast, he knew that she was thinking too much. Hence, he tapped the phone screen hesitantly âNo, I didnât mean that.â He didnât know how to explain. âItâs not convenient for me to drink water.â
Deirdre raised her head in perplexity. âWhy is it inconvenient?â
Kyran stayed silent, and then he answered solemnly, âItâs inconvenient to go to the restroom.â
As soon as Deirdre heard the answer, her cheeks burned. When she recovered her senses, she wished the earth would open up and swallow her.
Because Kyran was on the bed, it was naturally inconvenient for him to go to the toilet. Moreover, he had his own pride, so he drank as little as possible.
âOh, I see.â Deirdre felt so ashamed that her eyes had been dodging frantically. Yet, because she could still feel the manâs slightly teasing gaze, she mustered her courage and said, âBut one still needs to replenish water every day. Therefore, itâs better that you take a few sips if youâre thirsty, even if itâs just to moisten your throat.â
âIt makes sense.â The man really listened to Deirdreâs advice. âThen bring the water glass. Iâll take a couple of sips.â
Deirdre groped hastily for a water glass. After pouring the water, she covered the glass with a lid and added a straw. Then, she groped and touched the manâs thin lips.
They were not soft but filled with dead skin. It looked like Kyran had been thirsty for a while.
Deirdre couldnât help frowning. âKyran, do tell me if youâre thirsty. Water is more important to the human body than anything else, especially when youâve just undergone surgery. Donât you feel uncomfortable at all with your mouth so dry?â
Kyran looked really uncomfortable. Even though he was slightly restraining himself, he drank half of a glass of water. After his lips were somewhat moistened, he typed, âOkay.â
