The morning sun glinted off the ocean, casting long shadows across the coastal town. Ishan sat at the edge of the balcony, gazing out at the tranquil waters, but his mind was anything but peaceful.

The events of last night kept playing in his head, like an endless loop he couldn't escape. Shubman's words still echoed in his mind: "I can't stand seeing you with anyone else. I need you to see that you belong with me, not anyone else."

Ishan had never seen Shubman so vulnerable, so raw. It shook him to his core, but it also left him confused.

They had been friends for so long, and he never once thought Shubman could feel anything more for him. His emotions were in a whirlwind, and he needed someone to talk to.

Without a second thought, Ishan grabbed his phone and texted Mayank, asking him to meet him by the pool. Mayank was the one person Ishan could always count on, and today was no different.

Later that afternoon, they sat together by the edge of the pool. Ishan's feet dangled in the cool water, and the warm sunlight made everything seem peaceful. Yet, his mind was anything but.

"Mayank," Ishan started, his voice laced with frustration, "I think I've just screwed things up with Shubman."

Mayank raised an eyebrow and tilted his head slightly, always keen to pick up on Ishan's mood. "What happened? Did he finally snap on you?"

Ishan let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair. "I don't know. I... I didn't expect this. He's acting all possessive, like he can't stand seeing me talk to anyone else. And then... then he said it. He said he's in love with me."

Mayank's lips curled into a teasing grin. "Well, I told you, didn't I? You're way too irresistible for someone like Shubman to handle. I mean, you've got that 'perfect guy' thing going on."

Ishan shot him a glare. "This is serious, Mayank. I don't know how to handle it."

Mayank's teasing demeanor shifted slightly as he saw the weight in Ishan's eyes. "Alright, alright. Seriously, though, you've got to decide how you feel. Shubman's not the kind of guy to spill his guts unless he's really serious about it."

Ishan bit his lip in frustration. "I don't know, man. I'm not ready for this. It's just so intense. He's not like me... he's calm, reserved, and now he's all possessive. It feels... different."

Mayank leaned back, crossing his arms. "Yeah, it's a lot to digest, I get it. But the thing is, you can't just ignore it. You need to talk to him. He's not gonna back off unless you make it clear where you stand."

Ishan shook his head, still struggling with his emotions. "I don't want to hurt him. But I'm not sure if I can give him what he wants."

"Then figure it out, man. He's been carrying this for a while. He's not just some guy who'll forget it." Mayank's tone was firm, but there was a softness beneath his words. "Just... don't hurt him, okay?"

Ishan let out a long breath. "I'll try. I just wish it was easier."

The evening rolled in, bringing with it a cool breeze from the ocean. The group gathered once again by the bonfire, the orange flames flickering in the night air.

Shubman was already there, standing off to the side, his eyes scanning the crowd for Ishan. It had been a strange day. Every time he caught sight of Ishan, his chest tightened, and the jealousy gnawed at him again.

Ishan had been quiet all day, and Shubman had no idea where he stood.

As the night wore on, the others chatted around the bonfire, but Shubman's mind remained fixed on Ishan. His palms were sweaty, his heart beating faster with every passing second. He had no idea what was happening, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was changing between them.

Finally, Ishan appeared. He walked toward Shubman with a neutral expression, but there was an unspoken tension between them.

The silence was thick, and neither knew exactly how to begin. Ishan sat down beside him, their shoulders brushing briefly. Neither of them spoke at first.

Shubman was the first to break the silence, his voice soft but filled with emotion. "I'm sorry if I pushed you too hard, Ishan. I.... I don't know how to handle this. I can't stop thinking about you."

Ishan looked at him, his eyes searching Shubman's face. There was no confusion in his gaze, no sign of surprise. He already knew. He had known for a while. But it didn't make the situation any easier. "You don't need to apologize. I just... I don't know how to fix this. You can't control me, Shubman. But that doesn't mean I don't care about you. I always have."

Shubman's heart skipped a beat. Those words hit him harder than he expected. "I'll try. I really will. I just... I want to be with you, Ishan. In whatever way you'll let me."

Ishan's expression softened, and for a moment, it felt like the world had paused. He let out a slow breath, trying to find the right words. "I think we can figure this out. But we both need to learn how to trust each other more."

Shubman nodded, feeling a sense of relief flood through him. The tension wasn't completely gone, but it felt like they had made a step forward, together.

As the bonfire crackled and the group laughed in the background, Abhishek couldn't resist making his presence known. He had been watching the entire exchange from a distance, a grin playing at the corners of his mouth.

"Told you, mate," he teased, walking up to Shubman with a smug expression. "Ishan's a walking disaster when it comes to his flirtations. But you just had to go all jealous and complicate things."

Shubman rolled his eyes, but there was a hint of a smile on his lips. "Shut up, Abhishek. It's not that simple."

"Oh, it's simple," Abhishek grinned, winking at Ishan. "You just needed to stop being all dramatic and take a deep breath. I mean, seriously, Shubman, who knew you were this possessive?"

Ishan couldn't help but laugh. "You have no idea, Abhishek. But Shubman's been trying. He's getting there."

Mayank, who had been listening nearby, walked over, offering Shubman a wink. "Good luck, mate. I think you're gonna need it with Ishan's... charming ways."

Shubman gave him a half-smile. "I'll manage. I just need to keep my jealousy under control."

Rohit, always the observer, chimed in from his spot near the bonfire. "Look, just make sure he knows you care, but don't smother him. He's protective, but he can learn."

KL Rahul nodded. "Yeah, you're going to have to trust him, Shubman. He won't always flirt with everyone. You've got to give him space."

"I can't believe I'm hearing this advice from you guys," Shubman muttered, shaking his head.

And as always, Jasprit Bumrah had to throw in his two cents. "Shubman's jealousy? More dramatic than a cricket match at 11 pm. Honestly, you'd think he was the one in love with the whole team."

Shubman glared at him, though the sarcasm only made him laugh. "Thanks for the support, Jasprit."

Despite the teasing and sarcastic remarks, the group was a tight-knit unit. No matter how complicated things got, they always had each other's backs.

For Shubman and Ishan, their relationship was just beginning to evolve. It was messy and complicated, full of ups and downs, but they were learning, slowly but surely, how to balance their love and their lives.

The End.
