"Are you sure you weren't followed?" A voice said. Its voice is extremely nervous. You could tell from the way he was speaking that he was in a very serious situation.
"Of course not, who do you think I am? Even if they saw me, we are miles away from the frontier. It is useless for them to follow us, they can't catch up. Another voice replied. In contrast to the other one, this voice was more dark and serious. In a way you could say, it was more sinister.
Felix felt that his head was fussy. The last thing that he remembered was trying to help the child who fell down. After that, everything was a mess in his mind. By the voices, he assumed that it was most likely that he was kidnapped. But who would take him? He only entered Sunflower City for a few hours, so he hasn't offended anyone. The only possibility that came to Felix mind was that someone already knew about Fang Yu identity and also his relationship with him, and as far as he knew, only the Heart Kingdom that was at war had a motive to target Fang Yu.
As his mind was getting clearer, he tried to open his eyes only to see darkness in front of him and not only that, but he could move his extremities. So he was blindfolded and tight up, yep, this was a complete kidnap. At least his captors were so cold-blooded to put a gag on his mouth, so at least he could breathe easily. He felt that he was lying on a soft seat. He also felt how his environment was moving, so the most logical conclusion was that he was inside a carriage. Wow, his captors were really generous with his traveling expenses.
"We are almost there, make sure to enter by the back door. We don't want to attract unnecessary attention." Once again, the sinister voice spoke. His voice was so harsh that Felix thought that he needed to take some chamomile tea to clear his throat.
"Yes my lord."
Felix kept pretending that he was asleep. He wasn't sure what guys would do to him once he woke up.
Outside the carriage, a beautiful red castle was there to delight the view. The towers had hearts on its peak and a beautiful rose garden was around the castle. If one wasn't careful, you could get lost in there. Seeing that a carriage was getting closer, the guard in red armor pointed out to the carriage to stop. The window of the carriage door was open and a beautiful man with sharp factions, black hair and white pale skin were some of his characteristics, but his focus point was his left eye patch. At the view of the man, the guard hurriedly saluted. "Counselor Stayne! What a beautiful honor. Are you here to see the queen?" The guard asked.
"Unfortunately, no. Today I'm only here to deliver some packages. Please let me through."
"Right away Sir!"
Without delay, the guard let the carriage go inside the massive walls of the castle. As the horse pulled the cabin through the garden of roses, some guards were coming as they had taken care of the garden.
"Say, I really don't see why we need to do this! Can anybody just hire someone else to paint these roses? We are guards! We must go on patrol, not painting roses! Besides, who paints roses!?"
The other knight was more relaxed as he put his brush on the red paint bucket, "Just do it, haven't you heard? The castle is really on a tight budget right now. Never mind someone to replace us, we are lucky enough to only do this. I just heard from a maid that the main cook was just fired because his tarts weren't sweet enough. So if my only job is paint some roses, I would not complain."
The other guard still wasn't convinced. "I'm just saying a guard should be doing more important tasks," said grumpily.
The calm guard didn't want to pay attention anymore. There were so many demanding jobs that paid much less of what he is earning now. If the only task was to paint these roses, he would be a fool to turn down the task. If he had any complaint was that there were too many roses. He really wanted to give a beating to the fool who confused the queen's orders to plant a million red roses, and instead he gave white roses seeds.
Leaving the couple of guards behind, the carriage with Felix inside stopped at the entrance of the castle, Stayne opened the door and got out of the carriage. Leaving the weak semi human inside. He said to the couch man, "Be careful, I don't want any mistakes."
"Yes my lord."
Leaving Stayne behind, the coachman then went to the stables to leave the carriage. He then would take the rabbit boy to the dungeon. The coachman really complained in his heart, why did he have to get in this shady business of the counselor? Not to talk about kidnapping, he had never even stolen a coin before! He really was pitied for the bad fate of the rabbit man, but he, a simple coachman, couldn't go against the orders of the counselor.
Inside the carriage, the rabbit who earned the pity of the coachman was currently very happy. Why, you may ask, because his rabbit system was back!
"Qiu! Where the hell had you being!?" Felix was very happy when he heard that silly voice once again inside his mind. But after the second of joy it came the rage. That stupid rabbit, he left without saying a word, and now he was shouting nonsense as soon as he came back.
"Qiu! For heaven's sake, I had been kidnapped!" This silly rabbit, why his brain circuits never went the right way.
"Never mind that, can you untie-?" Felix couldn't finish his words, since during his conversation with Qiu he didn't notice that the carriage had long ago stopped and now the coachman opened the door. "Sorry buddy, I don't have anything against you, I'm just following orders." The couch man was about to grab Felix when a voice came out of nowhere.
"Hey Bob! Are you back? Great, come help me, one of the cows is delivering, and I need help!" One of the coworkers of the coachman shouted from the barn. The cow suddenly began labor, and he needed a hand to deliver the babies. Bob, the coachman, hesitated. He needed to take the boy into the dungeon, but with his coworker there, he didn't dare to take the boy out. So he reluctantly whispered. "You stay here a don't try to make anything funny if you know what's best for you." With that, Bob closed the door once again, leaving Felix out of danger for the time being.
The rabbit system that had been silent could take it anymore and hurriedly said, "Host! Who was that!? Where are we? Why are we here!?"
"Let's talk later, help me until this ropes, please." He didn't have time to waste with chit-chat, he had to take this opportunity to escape. So with the help of Qiu, Felix was free from his restraints and was able to see once again. Seeing the rabbit floating with his little cute tuxedo gave a little more confidence to his trembling heart. He had to go back to Fang Yu, and he would be giving up here.
"Come on, let's go!" Jumping out of the carriage, Felix looked at his surroundings, right now he was at the back of the castle with a barn at the side, where the coachman was helping the farmer delivering the cow babies.
Felix couldn't enjoy his freedom for long, he needed to get out of there before the coachman noticed that he had escaped. Qiu pointed to a wooden door that was left open, it was not ideal to enter the castle, but it was better than staying there. So he ran fast and was able to enter through the back door. Inside there was a long hall, the stone walls blocked the cold air and was more comfortable once inside. "Qiu you can detect someone nearby?" Felix asked, he really didn't want to meet that man from the carriage again.
The rabbit system said his GPS function was fantastic!
With the help of his global satellite rabbit, Felix quickly and discreetly left the back door behind. Walking through the halls, we could see guards and maids walking around. Everything look good so far, then suddenly Qiu said
Felix with his good nose also smelt the scent that the rabbit system was talking about, the smell was something similar to his shop when he was baking apple pies, but slightly different. Soon he was besides the kitchen, inside there was a young man with white hair with an orange apron baking at full capacity. He was making like three different things at the same time. He was cutting apples as he also was he also putted some vegetables in the soup, he poor check with hare ears on his head looked exhausted. Felix felt a little pity for him, when there wasn't help in the kitchen it was like a nightmare to serve all the clients alone. Suddenly, the white hare boy noticed Felix existence and grumpy said, "Can I help you?"
"I-m sorry, I was just passing by."
"Then don't bother me! I'm too busy with dinner and with these tarts! What headache do I have! These damn tarts!"
"What's wrong with them?" Felix unconsciously said. When we're kitchen related topics, he usually forgets everything else, so the fugitive Felix had forgotten that he was on the run.
"The queen says that she is tired of the same old tarts! She even dared to say that it doesn't taste like before. But before she said that the apple tart was her favorite so we didnt change it, now she got bored with it. Now I don't have time to come up with something new."
Qiu couldn't help but ask, his host forgot that he didn't want to be caught?
Felix really wanted to help the boy in his predicament, besides he didn't know where he was, so at least he could get some information from the young chef. He looked a little grumpy, but didn't look evil.
"What other ingredients do you have?"
"What do you care about? Can you make something?" The boy was getting tired of wasting his time with this man.
"Well I think I can, at least I can make another thing besides apple tarts." Felix answered as he noticed some pumpkins at a corner of the kitchen. "May I borrow that pumpkin, I think I can make something delicious with it."
The hare boy looked at Felix suspiciously, but looking back at the clock, the time was running out before the dinner. So he let Felix help, he would taste everything first before letting any food prepared by the man arrive at the dinner table.
Felix then began to prepare a delicious pumpkin pie. He remembered that this dish was very popular during autumn. Fortunately, this kitchen was well-equipped and everything that he needed was there.
Seeing that the boy really knew what he was doing, the white hair boy was most at ease to begin a little chit-chat. "I'm Nico, sorry for being a little grumpy, I've had a bad time in the kitchen lately."
"I'm Felix." Felix responded with a kind smile, he could see that under Nico's eyes were some bags very profound, so he was a little kinder to the boy that looked like the same age as him. "Are you the only one in the kitchen?"
"For now, yes. I used to have an assistant, but for some reason, I'm alone now. It is really hard to be the only one in the kitchen."
Like that, he began to speak with Nico. It turned out that the previous assistant got caught trying to steal some tarts. He was then taken to see the queen. After that, he was fired from the castle. So now Nico was left alone with the kitchen work, it was really hard.
He also was shocked to discover that he was in the Heart Kingdom! How didn't I get here so fast!? Now his chances of escaping were greatly reduced, he didn't know anybody here. Before he thought that he was still somehow close to the border of the Diamond and Spear countries, but now he was hundreds of kilometers apart from Fang Yu. Maybe he needed another plan...
"Hey, I think your dessert is ready." Nico said as he watched the pie that was finished baking inside the oven. He had to admit that it smelled wonderful.
Happily, Felix carefully got the pie out of the oven and put it on the corner of the window to let it cool down. The rich smell of pumpkin pie fills the room.
"Well, let me have a taste..." Nico said as his stomach growl under the influence of the pie.
Felix, that was immersed watching the pie cooking that he didn't notice that another person was approaching him from behind. By the time Qiu tried to warn his host, it was too late.
"Hey! Hare! What is that delicious smell?!" A powerfully feminine voice rumbles. Soon a beautiful girl with long red hair, white cheeks with heart shaped lips entered the kitchen. She was hungry on the dinner table waiting for the dinner when her nose smelled something delicious. She knew very well the smell of the apple pie, and this scent was definitely not that. Intrigued, she went all the way back to the kitchen, where she found that her chef was cooking with another boy that she hadn't seen before.
"Hey, Who are you? I haven't seen you here before." The red girl asked. As she looked at Felix with caution.
"Im..." Felix was a little at a loss. He was unprepared when he met what he was sure to think was the Queen of Hearts. The beautiful woman who was not older than 25 years old looked imposing, with the strong sense of presence of a queen. Looking at her, he felt a little careless and forgot how to talk for a minute.
Fortunately, Nico was quick to respond to the queen. "Your majesty, this is Felix, the new kitchen assistant. Just now we were preparing a new dish for you. I hope you will like it very much." Nico said as he elegantly bowed to the queen.
Hearing Nico words, she left her worries about the new young boy and stopped caring about it. "Then hurry up, I'm starving there."
"Right away, your majesty."
Then the queen left the kitchen. As soon as she left, some maid entered, taking the main dishes to serve the dinner. Meanwhile, the maid was in the kitchen Felix didn't dare to speak, he only went to see Nico giving him a wink with his eye. "Now let's prepare the dessert, shall we?"
