âMrs. Granger!â Cindy stopped Eudora again. âI beg you, please donât. My love has always been unrequited. Charlie has never liked me! Actually, Iâve already thought this through. This time, Iâm giving up on him!â
Eudora looked at Cindy with pity, but she understood one thing about love.
Love could never be forced.
âOkay then, letâs not talk about this anymore. Let me introduce you to a few good men. Theyâre definitely better than Charlie!â
Cindy was lost for words.
âMrs. Granger⦠Actuallyâ¦â
âNope. Iâll definitely introduce you to them. At the same timeâ¦â
A glimmer of light flashed through Eudoraâs eyes. At the same time, the method could also help her understand Charlieâs true feelings for Cindy.
Perhaps, simple-minded men like Charlie wouldnât even know when they liked a woman.
â¦..
Naomi hadnât been having much problems lately, so Amos wanted Eudora to rest at home. Therefore, Eudora put all her effort into arranging blind dates for Cindy.
In the evening, Eudora laid on the bed, looking through a bunch of photos of men.
As Amos walked out of the bathroom, he saw Eudora frowning and smiling at photos of different men. Amos was confused, so he took off his bathrobe, and deliberately leaned in front of Eudora.
However, Eudora didnât even look at his beautiful body. Instead, she pushed him away and said, âYouâre blocking me!â
Amos was annoyed, âWhat are you looking at? Why are you so engrossed in it? Humph, looks like Iâve been spoiling you too much recently!â
As he spoke, he pinned Eudora down with his large hands.
Only then did Eudora look at Amosâs handsome face, and his beautiful, muscular body.
She was so attracted to him that her nose almost bled.
Eudora thought to herself, âWell, it looks like my husband is still the best!â
Howeverâ¦
What was she thinking? Eudora immediately defended herself, âNo, itâs not what you think. Iâm finding Cindy a good match!â
Amos raised his eyebrows and asked, âCindy? Doesnât she have a good relationship with Charlie?â
âDonât even talk about him!â Eudora struggled to get up. âYou men are all the same, you never cherish what you have! Cindy is such a lovely girl, so what does Charlie dislike about her? When I went downstairs last night, I even saw Cindy alone crying in the kitchen!â
Amos frowned. He held Eudora in his arms and whispered, âNo, Iâm different, I love you.â
Eudora burst into laughter, feeling amused by Amosâs unexpected proclamation of love.
âI know you love me! Iâm talking about Charlie!â
âIâll talk to him tomorrow,â Amos said.
âDonât!â Eudora shook her head. âItâs useless talking to men like him! Heâll only come to his senses after he loses Cindy. Come and help me out, which one do you think Cindy would like?â
Amos smirked. He looked at Eudoraâs crafty gaze, and couldnât help but stretch his hand out and pinched her cheek. He liked her carefree look when her eyes were always pure and youthful.
âThese arenât even good. There are a few new executives in our company that I think are decent. Theyâre all young and promising too. Let me arrange everything!â
âReally?â Eudora immediately leaned her head against Amos and planted a kiss on his cheek.
âHubby, I love you so much!â
Amos snickered, âThatâs it?â
Eudora was stunned. In a split second, she was already held down by Amos!
Eudora was dumbfounded.
The next day, Amos asked Clint to send over a lot of information on the few executives before he returned home.
Eudora took a look at all of them and found that they were indeed decent. She hastily waved at Cindy who had just returned from grocery shopping.
âCindy, come and have a look!â
Cindy then put down her grocery bags curiously.
âWhatâs the matter, Mrs. Granger?â
âWhat do you think of these few men?â
Cindy picked up the file and looked at it, and then said, âHmm, not bad. They are handsome and quite capable.â
âYeah, I think so too. I asked Amos to help me look for them. Theyâre all executives in his company, and have promising futures! Which one do you like? I can introduce them to you.â
âWhat??â Cindy was surprised.
âMrs. Granger, itâs okay! You donât have to do this for me!â
âWhy not? This is something good. You canât just hold on to the past!â
Just as she spoke, she heard light footsteps outside the door. Eudora had sharp eyes, so when she saw the black attire outside, she immediately knew that Charlie had come.
Then, she purposely continued, âWell, since some people do not know how to cherish you, I guess itâs time for you to move on! Cindy, you deserve someone better! Trust me, I will definitely find you a better man! For the time being, you donât have to make a decision. Iâll hold a party to get all these guys together, and then you can take your time and choose from them!â
Cindy wanted to say something, but Charlie suddenly walked in.
He glanced at Cindy.
Then, he said, âMrs. Granger, Iâve prepared everything you want.â
âAh, youâre just in time!â Eudora deliberately spoke to Charlie. âEverything that I asked you to prepare is for Cindyâs matchmaking party! Look, arenât these men excellent?â
Charlie flicked a glance. âYes. Theyâre quite decent.â
Eudora scowled. What did he mean by âquite decentâ?
âAh, you do have a good taste. The party is in a few daysâ time. Feel free to join!â
âSure!â Charlie said. Then, he turned around and left.
Cindy looked at his back bitterly, saying, âIâm sorry, Mrs. Granger. It seems that you have put in a lot of effort, but Iâ¦â
âCindy! Come on!â Eudora stopped her.
âIâm doing this for you. Iâm not asking you to find someone and get married quickly. Just take it as a chance to meet more friends. What if you really find someone you like? Why donât you just move on? Well, itâs decided! The party will go on! Iâll make sure you look beautiful at the party. Also, even if you really donât end up with Charlie, you canât belittle yourself like that. If you are to leave him, youâd better do so gracefully!â
âAlright then,â Cindy sighed.
â¦
Three days later, it was time for the party.
Amos gave Clint some instructions as soon as he finished sorting out some matters in the company.
âFor matters that are not urgent, please move them forward till tomorrow. I have to go back home early today.â
Clint was used to it.
However, he still asked Amos casually, âAre you going back to accompany Mrs. Granger?â
Amos shook his head, his face full of excitement.
âNo, sheâs holding a party today. I want to go and have a look.â
Clint was surprised.
From Amosâs expression, it seemed like Eudora was a princess who was organizing a party for the first time! They were already an old couple, why was he still doting on her so much?
Just as Clint was pondering on it, Amos had already seen through him.
âDonât be so jealous of me!â
Clint was completely dumbfounded.
âDonât look so sad, okay?â Amos gave him a cool wave and left. As Amos left, Clint had suddenly remembered something, âWait, thatâs right! I have a wife too! I donât have to be jealous of you!â
â¦
At Clearwater Bay.
Eudora was busy instructing people to help Cindy put on her make-up. Cindy was a girl who did not like to dress up. Maybe it was because she was used to training martial arts with a bunch of men, so she behaved quite like a man. She had short hair, and always wore simple T-shirts with jeans.
