Eudora and Amos reached Clearwater Bay half an hour later.
Just like the Grangersâ old mansion, their house in Clearwater Bay was also decorated with new furniture. They were all cleaned and polished carefully, especially the ones Eudora had chosen before.
The whole room seemed to be filled with warmth. This was the bridal chamber that she wanted!
Eudora looked around with joy, and the two little children followed behind, laughing happily.
Amos knew that they would like it here, thus he said.
âIf you donât want to go back to the old mansion, we could all just live here. Iâll arrange for people to take care of the house there!â
âOkay!â Eudora kissed Amosâ cheek without hesitation, and her eyes were narrowed into crescents from smiling.
Wesley, who had been standing aside, decided to walk away to grant them some privacy.
Juju immediately covered her brotherâs eyes and said, âDaddy, Mommy, youâre doing the shy thing!â
That caught Eudora off guard.
Amos squatted down and explained to Juju carefully.
âThis is not being shy. This is the expression of Mommyâs love for Daddy.â
Eudora covered her face. How could they say such a shameful thing?
However, Amos didnât intend to stop at all. âJuju, if you love Sugar Bun, you could kiss his cheek too! Daddy loves Juju, so I could also kiss you on the cheek.â
Juju nodded, but she didnât fully understand. She tiptoed and kissed Amosâ cheek.
âIs that so? Daddy?â
Amos nodded. âJuju, youâre so smart!â
He then got up and planted a kiss on Eudoraâs cheek. âDaddy also loves Mommy.â
Eudora felt embarrassed.
She then held Amosâ hand and said in a low voice, âYou donât have to talk about this topic all the time, do you?â
Amos replied bluntly, âItâs not something we should shy away! It is very important. It will have a great impact on our family and our parent-child relationship in the future!â
Eudora immediately felt a little guilty. She had not been a good mother. On the other hand, Amos had been playing the role of a father much better than she had.
She needed to put more effort into becoming a better mother.
Amos held her hand and smiled sheepishly. âThat way, you wouldnât have to avoid kissing me when we are at home once they understand it!â
Eudora was baffled.
What a great excuse, huh, Mr. Granger? Did he forget that Wesley was still there? Was he going to ignore his presence?
To alleviate the awkwardness, Eudora quickly found an excuse.
âItâs been a long day. Let me make you guys supper!â
âSure!â Juju smiled and clapped her hands. âI like eating Mommyâs supper the most!â
Sugar Bun grinned as well. Although he couldnât speak, he had to join in the fun.
â¦
In the kitchen, Eudora listened to the laughter of the father and children coming from the living room from time to time, and her heart was at peace.
Wesley then came in and reached out to take the food from Eudoraâs hand.
âMrs. Granger, let me help you!â
âItâs alright!â Eudora shook her head. âThank you for taking care of Juju and Sugar Bun for me all this time. No words could express my gratitude.â
Wesley paused, and a sense of warmth flashed across his eyes.
âItâs my duty, Mrs. Granger.â
Eudora shook her head. âYou were supposed to protect Amos. Itâs really hard for a man to take care of children. Now that Iâm back, you can relax a little in the future. You should go to the living room and wait for me. Iâve prepared your supper too.â
Wesley beamed and replied, âOkay.â
As he was about to turn around and leave, he seemed to have thought of something and turned back to look at Eudora.
âMrs. Granger, are you alright?â
Eudora was surprised by his question. âWhat do you mean?â
âI heard that you were taken away by Fabian. Were you hurt?â
Eudora shook her head. âIâm fine! Iâm not that weak.â
Wesley breathed a sigh of relief and replied, âThatâs good then.â
Eudora nodded and waited until Wesley left before she started washing the vegetables.
She then took out the pumpkin soup that she had prepared. She did not make much because it was supper. The amount she prepared was just enough to fill up their stomachs.
The two children were tired after the meal and they soon fell asleep.
Amos tucked them into bed while Eudora headed for the kitchen. She was about to start cleaning up when she saw Wesley already washing the dishes.
âPut it there, Iâll do it!â Eudora quickly said.
Wesley shook his head and replied, âItâs okay, Iâm already done! Juju and Sugar Bun are both asleep. You should go to bed early!â
He wiped his hands and strode out of the kitchen without waiting for Eudoraâs reply.
Looking at his back, Eudora remembered the first time they met. At that time, Wesley couldnât even tolerate the sight of her.
Who would have thought that he had changed so much since then? It was a good thing.
All of a sudden, she was embraced by Amosâ strong arms, his masculine scent wafting into her nose.
âItâs finally our turn.â
Eudora smiled at him. âWeâ¦â
His lips had fallen onto her white and tender neck before she could even finish her sentence. His kiss was so gentle, as though he was tending to a piece of precious jewelry, cautious and tender.
His warm breath spread through her ear, causing her to tremble.
Unable to resist the temptation, Eudora reciprocated the kiss passionately.
Their fingers intertwined, and Eudora couldnât help but notice the huge diamond ring on Amosâ finger. She pulled back and burst into laughter.
âI must be out of my mind when I proposed to you at that time. I canât believe that youâre still wearing the ring right now!â
However, Amos merely shrugged, âDoesnât it look good?â
Eudora chuckled. âIt is very pretty, your fingers are even more delicate and fairer than a girlâs.â
âHm?â Amos lowered his voice, âAre you saying that Iâm not manly enough?â
Eudora shook her head. âI didnât say that!â
He had already picked her up, âIâll make sure youâll get to see just how manly I am later!â
Eudora covered her face and knew that she was going to be in deep trouble.
It was a passionate night. Amos was like a beast, going round after round. He couldnât seem to take his hands off Eudora, holding her in his arms and whispering in her ears, âHey, Mrs. Grangerâ¦â
Eudora was so tired that her eyelids were twitching, and she mumbled, âMm.â
However, Amos was not in the least tired and he continued saying, âHey, Mrs. Grangerâ¦â
âI heard you!â Eudora opened her eyes. âWhatâs wrong?â
âMrs. Grangerâ¦â Amos called out again.
Eudora turned over and wrapped her arms around his waist. âYes? Mr. Granger, Mr. Granger, Mr. Granger, Mr. Granger.â
All of a sudden, she could feel something poking her from beneath the sheets. Her heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly turned around to run.
However, sure enough, the man pulled her back swiftly and pressed her under.
âMrs. Granger, I love you.â
Eudora wailed, âOkay, I know that. Could you please let me sleep now?â
