âItâs your turn!â Fabian handed the gun to Amos.
Amos looked in the direction of the sunroom. Eudora was still in a trance after being shocked by the electricity. When she finally came back to her senses, she saw that Amos was holding a gun against his temples. She subconsciously shook her head.
However, Amos had pulled the trigger before she could react.
There was a loud crack in the air!
There was no bulletâ¦
Fabian took the gun with a smile. âYou have guts. However, this game is riding on a single heartbeat. The more shots fired, the more exciting it gets. Because the risk keeps getting bigger and bigger until Death himself comes for youâ¦â
Amos frowned. The next second, Fabian shot at his own temple. As expected, there was no bullet this time around too.
Amos took the gun for the second time. His eyes met Eudoraâs worried eyes, and he felt a stab in his heart.
He looked at Fabian again and said, âIf Iâm right, there are no bullets in the first few shots, right?â
Fabian raised the corner of his mouth and replied, âItâs hard to sayâ¦â
Amos had already pointed the gun at the ground and fired a few shots before he could finish his sentence. He didnât stop until he had calculated that there were only three shots left.
âLetâs end this as soon as possible!â
Fabian frowned and looked at Eudora, whose face was filled with worry. For the first time ever, his heart wavered.
Was Amos really that fond of Eudora?
However, he was not convinced. Fabian smirked and said, âIt doesnât matter! You first!â
Amos shot at his temple without hesitation, and he didnât dare slow down anymore.
He was worried that Eudora would become even more worried if he hesitated.
Fabian took the gun and turned around to look at Eudora. These were the last two shots. The bullet would either in this one or the next.
He longed to see the worried look on Eudoraâs face, just like when she looked at Amos, even for a second.
However, there wasnât a single trace of worry on her face.
He had been risking his life along with Amos from the very beginning. At the end of the day, all of Eudoraâs attention was on Amos, all her worries and heartache were for Amos, and Amos only.
For the sake of Amos, she was willing to tear down the wire meshes. However, she remained calm and unruffled when it came to him.
There was a surge of anger in his heart. Fabian raised his gun and fired two shots at the ceiling.
Unexpectedly, there were no bullets in the gun!
Fabian threw the gun in his hand to the ground with a bang. âWhat a sh*tty game! Iâve had enough!â
After that, he turned around and opened the door to the sunroom, and grabbed Eudoraâs chin. Fabian glared at Eudora with scarlet eyes.
âWhy? Why canât you see my affection towards you? Why donât you care about me at all?â
Eudora sneered, âThatâs because you donât deserve it!â
âYouâ¦â Fabianâs grip slightly tightened.
Amos stepped forward subconsciously. âFabian, let her go!â
âStop right there!â Fabian shouted. âIf you take another step forward, Iâll strangle her to death! She doesnât like me anyway, so Iâll just kill her. If I canât have her, then Iâll take her life!â
Amos panicked. âNo! Iâll stay right here, just donât hurt herâ¦â
Fabian laughed. âAmos, youâre really in love with her, arenât you? Do you think that youâre a hero?â
Amos stopped talking. Fabian then turned to look at Callum, who had been standing silently behind Amos.
âFight!â
âNoâ¦â Eudora hurriedly shouted.
Callum rushed over and landed a hard punch at Amosâs back. Eudora hurriedly got rid of Fabian. âLet me go. Amos, fight back! Donât worry about me.â
Amos shook his head and smiled at Eudora. âItâs okay, I can handle it.â
Fabian snorted coldly and said, âContinue to beat him up! Donât stop.â
Callum had always been Fabianâs most loyal subordinate. Truth be told, he had always felt that Eudora was the one who had caused Fabian to end up like this.
However, he couldnât hurt Eudora because Fabian had been protecting her. Hence, he decided to vent his anger on Amos.
One punch after another landed on Amos. He gritted his teeth without making a sound.
Fabian shouted at Callum angrily, âWhat are you doing? Do I need to teach you how to beat someone up? Why isnât he saying anything?â
Callum wiped the sweat from his forehead and once again hit Amos with greater strength.
Eudoraâs mouth was covered, and her tears were streaming down from between Fabianâs fingers. Seeing blood seeping out from the corner of Amosâ mouth, Fabian finally relaxed and smiled.
All of a sudden, Eudora opened her mouth and bit Fabianâs finger.
She used all her strength, almost biting off Fabianâs finger. Feeling the pain, Fabian flung her to the side, and she took advantage of this opportunity to rush out of the sunroom.
She pushed Callum away just as his fist was about to land on Amos, and she stood in front of the man like a protector, looking at Callum and Fabian with scarlet eyes.
âThatâs enough!â
Callum opened his mouth. âMr. Nolanâ¦â
âGet out!â Fabian ordered, âThis is between us.â
Callum left and locked the door behind him. Hearing the sound of the door locking, Eudora suddenly turned to Fabian.
âIf you let him go, Iâll follow youâ¦â
âNo!â Amos shook his head. âDonât say that. I am a man, so I should be protecting you, not the other way around.â
Tears streamed down from the corner of her eyes, and Eudora looked at Amos, her vision blurred by her tears.
âYou used to say that you would listen to your wife, didnât you?â
Amos smiled bitterly. âYes, but youâre no longer my wife!â He raised his head, held Eudoraâs hand, and placed it on his chest.
âYou are my sweetheart nowâ¦â
Eudoraâs nose twitched and she sniffed. âNo, I still am your wife.â
She reached out and took out a well-preserved document from her pocket. It turned out to be the divorce agreement that had been signed by Amos.
Both of them had already signed it, but Eudora did not submit the document, so they were not officially divorced.
A drop of tear fell on the agreement, and Eudora smiled wryly. âThis is going to be the last time that I ask you to listen to me as Mrs. Granger, okay?â
âEudoraâ¦â
Eudora stuffed the agreement into Amosâ hand and looked at Fabian. âI meant what I said, let him go!â
Fabian was already burning with anger. How could he let go of Amos so easily?
He grabbed Eudoraâs collar and said coldly, âEven beggars should act their part, kneel on the ground and beg me!â
Eudora gasped. âFabian, I beg you, let Amos go!â
She bent her knees and was about to kneel to the ground. However, in the next second, Fabian grabbed her. âAm I talking about you? You are already mine. Whatâs the point of you kneelingâ
He then turned his attention towards Amos.
