Upon hearing this, Harley Louis traced his steps.
âNo, Clint. You donât understand. Love is not scary at all. Itâs beautiful!â
Clint Zuckerberg remained silent. He was not going to buy that!
After sending Harley off, Clint headed off to order the 999 roses that were going to make their way to Clearwater Bay.
â¦
Meanwhile, at Clearwater Bay.
Kesha George had somehow found out that her sister was back home. She immediately went over to look for her.
At this exact moment, Kesha was hovering around Eudora, blocking her way. She kept asking, âEudora, why donât we have a chat?â
Eudoraâs face went cold, âI have nothing to say to you!â
âEudora, could you not be so cruel? I admit that what happened back then was my fault. I didnât think things through, and as a result, I hurt you. But just think about it. If I hadnât butted in between you and Felix, then how would you have met Amos? Amos treats you so well!â
Kesha knew how to twist and make her words pretty. If Eudora didnât know her any better, she might have been swayed by her words.
âItâs not up to you to decide who I meet and who I donât. You canât change the fact that you had hurt me back then just because things had turned out well. You should keep your distance.â
Alas, Kesha couldnât pretend any longer. Her face turned dark.
âEudora, could you just stop with your antics? Iâm only being nice to you because weâre both going to be part of the Granger family soon. Me being part of the family would only benefit you! Think about it. We have the same biological father. If you were to face any difficulties next time, I promise that Iâll be there for you!â
However, Eudora did not believe in what she said.
Eudora knew that Kesha was still plotting against her and having tricks up her sleeves!
âAre you done talking yet? Leave now if youâre done. I donât care who youâre with as long as you stay away from me. I donât care about your life. Since weâve cut off all ties, could you stop acting like we are best friends? You disgust me.â
Kesha gritted her teeth and said, âEudora, donât you dare think that youâre the queen just because Iâm trying to win you over. You gave Amos a child, and thatâs all. Heâs just playing around with you. Wait until you get old; heâll toss you aside like a doll!â
Eudora sneered. She was about to refute when someone suddenly shouted from outside, âExcuse me, is Miss Eudora George home?â
Eudora was stunned and nodded, âThatâs me. What is it?â
âSomeone has sent you flowers!â
As the man spoke, he waved his hand. Behind him, several other men started moving bouquets and vases of flowers into the room.
There were fresh roses of every color. Red, blue, white, yellowâ¦
They all looked so bright and attractive.
Even Eudora was stunned. Kesha, who was next to her, stared at the plethora of roses in awe.
Why did this have to happen right after she told Eudora that Amos was toying with her? It was so embarrassing that she wanted to dig a hole and hide.
Very soon, half of the yard was covered with flowers.
Eudora took the papers from the delivery man and purposely asked him, âWho sent these?â
The man answered politely, âThe flowers are from Mr. Granger. Please sign right here.â
Eudora nodded and signed the papers swiftly, âOkay, thank you.â
After the delivery man left, Eudora went over and admired the flowers with satisfaction, âThis Amos. I told him not to be so high profile. Why does he have to be so extravagant? It tires me.â
Keshaâs eyes nearly rolled to the back of her head. She didnât say anything else but left immediately.
When she was outside, she kept replaying the scene in her mind. The more she thought about it, the more furious she got. Fuming, she pulled out her phone and dialed Stevenâs number.
âI want roses.â
Steven Granger was stunned, âWhatâs wrong?â
Although Kesha was a posh woman, she was always reasonable. Normally, sheâd never ask for trifle gifts, so her sudden request startled him.
Kesha also realized that she was being a little direct, so she quickly changed her strategy.
âItâs just that weâve been together for so long, but youâve never given me any flowers.â
Steven seemed to understand where she was coming from, âOh, I see. Alright, if thatâs what you want, Iâll get someone to send some over.â
Keshaâs face immediately broke into a wide smile, âYes! By the way, didnât you invite me over for dinner tonight? Donât ask someone to send it over, just get some later. More roses please!â
Steven nodded, âOkay!â
Only then did Kesha hang up, feeling satisfied, âDo you think that youâre the only one who deserves flowers, Eudora?â she thought.
â¦
At the same time, Eudora had no time to think about what was running through Keshaâs mind. She picked Juju up with Auntie Valerie and spent some time playing with Juju. Not long after, Amos came back home from work.
As soon as he entered the house, he saw Eudoraâs beaming smile. Even with all the roses around her, Eudora was still the prettiest flower in his eyes.
Amosâ heart squirmed. He marched over and picked Juju up.
âDaddy!â Juju called out in a sweet voice, âFlowers! Flowers!â
Amos turned to look at Eudora, âDo you like them?â
âI do! You donât know how bad things were earlier. Kesha came and said some mean things to me. Thankfully, your flowers arrived at the right moment. She was green with jealousy when she saw them!â
A lot had happened lately. Seeing Eudora be so happy, Amos couldnât help but feel a little guilty.
She had to go through so much because of him.
As soon as Eudora looked up, she met Amosâ dark eyes. She shook her head and said, âIâm fine. I was just saying.â
Amos reached out and wrapped his arms around both of them. He felt as though he was hugging his entire world in his arms.
âAlright.â
After playing with Juju for a while, Amosâ phone rang. It was a call from the Granger family mansion. When he picked up, he heard the butler say, âThere are matters at home that require your attention. Master Harry has requested for you and Miss George to come over for dinner.â
Harryâs arrogant screams could be heard occasionally over the line.
âDonât you know how to clean properly? How did my brother even manage you all last time? Iâm sure all of you were slacking!â
Amos sneered and said, âAlright.â
They had to find out more about the Old Masterâs incident anyway, so Amos accepted the invitation.
After hanging up, Amos handed Juju over to Auntie Valerie, âIâm sorry to trouble you, but Eudora and I need to leave now.â
Auntie Valerie shook her head, âItâs not a big deal. Jujuâs a good kid.â
Juju looked at them expectantly, âMommy, when will we be able to live together again like we used to?â
âVery soon!â Eudora promised.
After stepping out of the house, Eudora asked, âIs it your uncle again?â
âYes, they asked to have dinner together. I think that theyâre up to something. I guess weâll just have to wait and see.â
âOkay,â Eudora nodded.
When they arrived at the mansion, it did seem like they were planning something. The whole house was decorated as though they were waiting to welcome someone very important.
