Chapter 495: Chapter 496: Someone Wants to Force Her to Leave

“No. I’m just worried that you don’t want us anymore after she returns.” Rou had changed several jobs and her current job was her favorite. If her boss suddenly changed, she didn’t know how their temperament was and didn’t know if she could match with her new boss’s rhythm and style.

“Who said that?” Olive frowned slightly. Why everyone thought she was going to leave soon? It seemed that a lot of things happened in the Angel Hotel during her trip to Jiangcheng.

Rou said, “Everybody is talking that the chairman intends to teach Ms. Susan and Mr. Hoyle has long wanted you to return to work with him. The reason why you stay in the hotel is because of Chairman Geve’s illness, saying that you will guard the hotel until the chairman finds his biological daughter. Now that Ms. Susan is back, are you really going to leave?”

“Who says I’m leaving? There’s no such thing. Go back to your seat and do your work seriously. Be careful I’ll cut your bonus this month with you nonsense thought.”

“Are you really not leaving?” Rou asked happily.

“Of course.” If she left, who would stop the bad guys from doing evil?

“You’ll still be our boss?”

“If you want to change your boss, I don’t mind arranging one for you.”

Rou hurriedly waved her hand, “No, no. I want you.”

“Then are you not going to work?” Olive seldom glared at her that it scared the secretary and she stepped out, but her pace was cheerful.

Olive sank into the soft seat and fell into contemplation as there was no more interruption in the office and there was only silence.

Only a few people knew the inside story of the agreement she and the old man reached privately in the hospital that day, but now some parts seemed to have been revealed after being polished. There were rumors in the hotel that everyone thought she was going to leave Angel Hotel. If she didn’t leave, it would make people think that she was trying to plot against the hotel.

The daughter of the Geve Family had returned now. If she still occupied this position and it spread out, it would mean she had intention to keep the hotel and not want to return it to the Geve.

Of course she wasn’t capable of this alone, but with Alan Hoyle as her backing, the situation is different.

And it would pull the both of them down.

Olive called Alan and told him about the situation and some thoughts in her head.

Alan said, “I happen to have this woman named Susan’s information here. She was indeed adopted by a Chinese-American couple when she was a child, and then taken away from China. Her adoptive parents died three years ago. The company she works for now is called Corbett Company. In order to open up a market at China, she was sent to Luo City this time, which is the same as what she said, without any flaws. Olive, before you meet this person, why have you thought that she couldn’t be the Geve’s daughter?”

“Intuition,” Olive answered him with these two words.

But how would it be easy to satisfy Alan Hoyle? Now, Olive thought Susan was a fake, and he thought that Olive was hiding something. He had been able to read people for many years, if he still couldn’t see the strange of a person who slept next to his pillow, then he was useless.

“What’s wrong with Chloe?”

“She asked me to see which lottery ticket will win the jackpot. So, aren’t you guys the same?”

Alan laughed through the phone.

Olive snorted, “What are you laughing at?”

“Nothing. Wait for your husband to come over and tell you the truth.”

Olive heard the remote control beeping when the car door was unlocked. When he arrived, she and three members from the Geve were already sitting in the private room and chatting.

Lory’s complexion was much better than before she went to Jiangcheng. The joy of her daughter was found helped the couple dispelled the gloom from the past.

Under the lead of the waiter, Alan walked in. “My apology for being late. There was a traffic jam.”

Norton gave him a punch, “Kid, I know you’re a busy man. If it isn’t for your wife here, I really want to scold you.”

“Uncle Norton, what are you saying? Aren’t you trying to harm me now? Besides, you’ve kept asking me to resign.” Alan felt his punch and it seemed like the old man had recovered well, even there was strength in his fist.

He smiled and sat down beside Olive. His gaze swept over the woman named Susan calmly. She looked clean too, except for her chestnut wavy hair, she didn’t looked to dress up much. But it showed her capable temperament which wasn’t much different from his woman’s description.

There was a meteor-like luster in Susan’s eyes. It was an extremely attractive gaze of a woman looking at man.

“You must be Mr. Alan Hoyle, right? Hello, you can call me Susan.”

She stretched out her hand and Alan shook her hand.

Susan inexplicably blushed. This man was so charming. With only those charming eyes of his staring at her lightly, she felt hot and her heartbeat accelerated.

It had been a long time to meet a man who could move her heart. Why did he have to be someone else’s husband when she met one? This made her involuntarily look at Olive with a touch of jealousy.

This slight change didn’t escape Alan’s eyes. His lips slightly quirked up. It turned out that she was pretty dangerous. No wonder Olive didn’t like her.

“Uncle Norton, you don’t even tell me that your daughter has been found. My men are still searching all over the world.”

Norton laughed and said, “I was waiting for you to come back to surprise you guys, but you guys still have known it first. I don’t feel any sense of accomplishment.”

“Or should I pretend I don’t know anything so you will introduce us again?” Alan joked.

“Hey, you’re teasing this old man again,” Norton blew his beard and glared at him, then he called the waiter at the door. “Serve the food.”

While the food was served, Susan secretly glanced at the handsome man sitting across her. That beautiful lip shape made people have the urge to kiss. She thought why didn’t she meet such a good man earlier? Olive was indeed a lucky woman who had the happiness of countless women’s dream.

She also wanted to find such person, but the goddess of luck didn’t visit her that she was still alone until today. To put it nicely, she was called a free person. To put it in bad words, she was called a leftover woman.

“Ms. Susan, this should be your first time coming to Luo City,” Alan asked casually.

The waiter had served the dishes and left the private room after asking them to enjoy their meals. He stood outside the door, waiting for other orders at any time.

Susan smiled and answered, “Yes. This is my first time coming to Luo City and China. My Chinese isn’t that fluent. I hope you can get used to it. You’re Olive’s husband, aren’t you? Can I treat you as a brother?”

She really wanted to attract this man’s eyes. But in his eyes only had his wife beside him. He even personally peeled the shrimp for her and there was no need for Olive to get her hands dirty.

“You’re already fluent enough. Do you live in Chinatown?” Alan ignored her question. He didn’t like other woman getting close to him.

Susan shook her head and was slightly disappointed. “No, I live in Los Angeles. Because my adoptive parents were descendants of Chinese, so I learned some Chinese since I was a child. I didn’t expect it’ll become handy when I got this job. Due to fate, I ran into my biological parents. Thinking about it now, I still feel like I’m dreaming.”

“Dreaming is also a joy in life, isn’t it? I’m just worried some people are dreaming until they become fools.” Alan had hidden meaning in his words. Before she could react, he turned the conversation to Norton. “Congratulation, old man. Your wish is fulfilled.”

“Thank you.” Norton was smiling from ear to ear. “I’ve fulfilled another wish of my life.”

Susan asked, “Alan is from Jiangcheng and now you’re staying with your wife in Luo City. Do you intend to settle in Luo City for a long time?”

Alan smiled and stretched his arm to the back of Olive’s chair. “It’s not that I’m settling in Luo City. I’m wherever my wife is. If my wife is in Luo City, then I’m in Luo City. If my wife wants to go to the United States, I’ll follow her to go there too. If she even wants to go somewhere unbelievable like Mars, I’ll build her a spaceship and go to the space with her.”

Olive gave him a funny look, “The more you talk, the more outrageous you are.”

Norton chuckled and added, “He’s his wife’s salve. I don’t even know how he can be a boss outside.”

“Olive, you’re so happy,” Susan said enviously. She looked at Alan with a bit more enthusiasm. Who wouldn’t love an outstanding, worthy and dedicated man? Unfortunately, this man wouldn’t belong to her.

Olive accepted her envy with a smile, “You’ll have one too.”

Susan sighed, “It would be great if I have such good luck. I don’t want to find an excellent man like Mr.

Hoyle. I’ll be satisfied to find someone with half of his goodness. I have ever dated a few boyfriends before, but I broke up with all of them. They aren’t as courageous as Mr. Hoyle and they are single-

minded, some are very fickle in love and have several lovers. I can’t accept that so we broke up.”

Norton continued and persuaded, “Right? Foreigners are all playboys. It’s better for you to find one here, like your father, like this kid Alan Hoyle who is dedicated to his wife. Luo City has a lot of good men. So, Susan, come home to help father and don’t worry about matters outside.”

Susan looked obviously helpless and said, “There you go again, father. We’ve talked about Angel Hotel, let me think again.”
