It seemed that Kent was acting up again.
Olive Steele, who was snuggling in his arms, didnât want to move an inch, but the knocking sound was way too loud that she had to tidy up her messy clothes before opening the door.
Two waiters were standing by the door. They came in pushing the cart and said politely, âThis is the meal Mr. Bai arrange for two.â
At the same time, the phone in the room rang. Alan Hoyle picked it up, and Kentâs voice came, âCandlelight dinner with a beautiful woman in your lap. Hoyle, I hope you have a wonderful night.â
The waiters were professional. They soon arranged candlelight dinner near the French style window, âEnjoy your meal.â they said before they left.
Olive Steele was halfway through the meal in the previous cocktail party when that person surnamed Qin ruined her appetite. She didnât finish her dinner.
The meal on the table looked appetizing. Her mouth drooled just by looking at it.
Alan Hoyle laughed and asked, âAre you hungry?â
She touched her belly, âA bit.â
âYou should eat more. Youâre really thin. You should gain some weight.â
âWhat do you mean by thin?â she thought that her body was proportional.
âEvery part of your body is so skinny.â
The eye between a man and a lover was different. If she was a stranger, her being fat or thin had nothing to do with him. But, she was her woman, and he hoped to take good care of her.
âThatâs not true.â She pouted. Well, she admitted that she was a little too thin. But, her body would still be the same no matter how much she ate. If she happened to eat more, she wouldnât gain weight. If she happened to eat less, she didnât lose that much weight. In recent years, her weight hovered around two or three pounds.
Chloe Malan said that she looked like she gained weight because she wore too many clothes during wintertime.
In fact, she didnât care about this. She didnât spend her time thinking about it either. Women were suckers for beauty, but she was mostly focused on running around for life. But, she could never mention her suffering to the man in front of her. The past was the past.
But, her previous tough life didnât escape Alan Hoyleâs mind. He had investigated her past life clearly.
Her shoulders were so thin from carrying too much pressure. His heart was in pain. He could only blame himself for not finding her earlier and for not stuffing the best thing the world could offer into her arms.
âCome. Drink some wine. Itâs good for your skin.â He poured the sparkling winemaking tiny ripples in the cup. Then, he handed it to her.
She laughed, âDo men love to say that pick up line?â
âWho else told you that?â
âI donât remember. Iâve heard this many times. What a lame line.â
âI told that pick up line to only you.â he stroked her hair gently. This woman took to many of his first times. He was willing to give everything to her with both hands.
Her heart warmed up. She sipped her wine, and the mellow taste spread all over her mouth. She looked up at the bottle. The information was written in a foreign language she didnât completely understand. Still, she knew that the wine was of top quality.
Alan Hoyle cut the steak in his plate into small pieces. When he finished cutting it, he saw that she already chugged the wine in her glass. He couldnât help smiling, âYouâre drinking wine. You should drink it slowly.â
She spat wittily, âI canât help it. I canât control my mouth. I want to drink a little more.â
He poured her another glass of wine, âThis wine is strong. You can easily get drunk from it. You should eat something first.â
On nights like this, it was only natural for people to get drunk. She laughed, âDonât worry. I wonât get drunk after one or two cups. Chloe Malan took a group of friends and me to play truth or dare because he wanted to know something about you. The loser had to drink, and the ones who didnât answer would get a double penalty. Can you guess what the result was?â
âWhat?â he raised his eyebrows. He was interested.
âI outdrank them all. Since then, no one dared to challenge me with alcohol.â She was a little proud.
The pain from that year was a joke now.
Alan Hoyle knew that she could hold her liquor. He saw her with his own eyes back in Hainan. He also knew that her work in Hengdu involved drinking with customers, but still, he dared not believe it, âAre you that good?â
âIf you donât believe it, you can test me. But, you may not be able to catch up.â She raised eyebrows.
If she hadnât opened her heart for him and returned to his side, he wouldnât mind using this method to get her back to him. Between men and women, the wine was a shady thing. It could shorten a distance and was bait for someone to tell the truth.
Now, it was unnecessary. He cared a lot about her body, âItâs not good to drink too much wine. I believe youâre that good.â
She pouted, âBut, your face tells the opposite.â
He laughed and shifted the topic, âIâm curious. How can you hold your liquor so well when youâre a woman?â
âOh, this has something to do with my dad.â
âGo on.â
