Yin n' yang
Holding elements
Dark n' light
Opposites attract
True except with energy
Expectations to be exact
Or lack, thereof
Manifesting into reality
Creating your destiny
Expanding and reaching the smallest crevice
Shining into shadows
Or blending in- playing nice
A dark fog covers town Waldo
One cold October night
The ones carrying buckets
Filled with candy- searching for a fright
Knowing not the ending
Starting cheerful on their way
Friends coming then going
Knocking, jumping, as they play
Creatures waiting amongst the shadows
Dancing along walls of clay
Cold reality of the truth
One truth says one fellow
Two sides chants the groups
Rebellious children chuckle
As the lights begin to fade
Moon lighting their way
Little do they know
Creature's habits are the same
Ending nowhere in sight
Except drawing nearer
To their dismay
Light shining brighter
Knowing naivety draws them astray
Understanding much further
Revealing mess creatures inhabit
Twisting words- facade to prolong
Cackling silenced- brightness strong
Looking in awe
Lessons learned as Children praise
Light and dark
Needing both just the same
To my little sister 2021
Ironically, she hates long poems.
With time and new revelations come new horizons.
