"Kate?" Autumn questioned
The raven hair girl hadn't even realized what was going nor did she care. Her eyes were captured with the brunette who held a smile that was enough to make her feel warm with her cold, cold heart
"Hi baby" The brunette chuckled
"What the- what are you doing here?" She asked
"I'm here to get you" She smiled
"Okay Shrek. My night and shining armor, coming to secure me from the pits of my despair" Autumn chuckled, walking towards her girlfriend
"Awww baby, what happened"
"I'll tell you on the way home, I just wanna be held right now" Autumn groaned, wrapping her arms around Kate's waist and burying her face into the side of the girl's neck
"AGH THEY'RE SO FUCKING CUTE, I CAN'T EVEN!" Ethan groaned
Kate chuckled as she hooked her arms around her girlfriend's neck, pulling her in closer
"You smell good, how the hell did you shower on set?" Autumn asked
"Um-" Kate raised a brow but it seemed it hit in the moment that Autumn still didn't realize it was all apart of a surprise
"That's where you just came from right? From filming and you came to pick me up?" Autumn asked
Ah. Yes. Autumn. Our slow baby. I mean, it did take this bitch two months to even realize Kate has feelings for her
"Ugh you're so cute" Kate giggled
"Thank you, but I'm serious" Autumn said
"Sure. Let's go with that" Kate smiled before intertwining her fingers with the girl
Kate glanced over to her friends and gave them a small wink, their grins were enough to know that they were on their way to leave
"Aight we're gonna head out now, see you late-"
"See you tomorrow. He means. Tomorrow" Jamie corrected, glaring at the boy
"Yeah right. Tomorrow. Got it" Ethan chuckled before they headed towards their car
"Bye guys!" Autumn waved
"Byee"
"Ugh I can't wait to just jump into a pool of vodka" Autumn groaned as she slipped into the limo
"Vodka?" the brunette asked
"Yep, I'm gonna hand dip all of the water out the pool and refill it with vodka" Autumn smirked when the girl came into the car
"And where are you going to find so much alcohol?" the brunette giggled, signalling for the driver to head to their destination
"I don't know... Oooooo we could go to a SUPERMARKET AGAIN. AHHH" Autumn squealed and leaned forward
"Rick! Can we please make a stop at the supermarket" she said, but her smile slowly faded when she noticed it wasn't her usual driver in the car
"Its- it's not Rick" Autumn pouted
"Nope, it's not Rick" Kate whispered
"Buh- Buh I want Rick" the girl's pout looked like a small child as she sank into her seat with dissapointment written across her face
"Shhh" Kate whispered before hooking her fingers under the girl's chin and pulling her forward
Their lips connected so softly, brushing against each other like silk being stitched together to create fashion
Autumn melted into the girl's body, Kate's lips never failed to make her lose herself and become lost into their moment
"Mhmm" Autumn hummed before tilting her head to deepen the kiss
But Kate pulled away before she could get the chance, leaving her girlfriend with a pout on her lips and a heaving chest
"What the hell" Autumn frowned
"Sorry baby, maybe later" She giggled
"Ugh this torture" Autumn groaned and crossed her arms across her chest
"What happened back there?"
"In the restaurant?"
"Yes"
"I... Um... Ran into Brooke and Hunter" Autumn mumbled
"Hunter!?"
"Weird right?"
"Very. Did he say anything?"
"Not.. Much.. I didn't give him an opportunity to talk, I just... I just got so.. So damn heated in the moment. Just looking at his face was like throwing gasoline on a fire that was already climbing. Ugh I acted like an ass, but could you blame me?" Autumn asked
"Not at all, you weren't ready to see his face and all of that built up anger just came out right there and then, don't beat yourself up for emotions you can't control Autumn" Kate mumbled, hooking her arms around the girl's shoulder and pulling her into her chest
Autumn sighed and wrapped her arms around Kate's wait, laying the side of her face on the girl's chest
"I guess you're right.. But he said.. He wanted to talk"
"Oh.. Are you ready to?"
"No"
"do you want to?"
"I... Don't know" Autumn whispered
"That's answer enough. If you're not sure you want to go back down that road then it's a dead giveaway that you shouldn't. But when you're ready, I'll be here to help you through it, alright?" Kate asked
The raven hair girl chuckled softly before tilting her head up to face those familiar brown orbs
"Where did I find you?" she asked
"On the main road after you almost ran into me-"
"OH SHUT UP" Autumn chuckled
"You found me, that's all that matter. And I'm not leaving, ever" Kate whispered before leaning down and placing a soft kiss on the girl's forehead
"Ugh you're melting me" Autumn groaned
"That's my job"
"No, your job is to let me treat you like a queen"
"Well, you're my queen tonight" Kate giggled
"Shut it" Autumn groaned
"n-" the girl was cut off by a soft kiss being placed onto her skin
"did you just kiss my boobs!" Kate hissed
"Yes and if you keep talking, I'll bite them next" Autumn glared
"Do it no balls" Kate glared
"Why you-"
"Ma'am, we're here" The driver announced, making Autumn roll her eyes
"Ya see, Rick wouldn't do that shit. Not anymore" Autumn glared, Kate chuckled softly
"Come on, let's go" Kate smiled
The door was swung open and Kate interviewed her fingers with her girlfriend
"Ah yes. Home to my bed-" Autumn was cut off when her eyes landed on the scene before her
"Babe... This ain't home"
Her eyes travelled over the scene in front of her. The night sky stood an inky canopy of darkness freckled only by the fewest of stars, where just hours ago it had been a grey rainy day
"Come along" Kate chuckled, running her thumb across her girlfriend's palm as she walked with her towards the bridge that was built with skill and precision.
Autumn's brows were still furrowed but filled with amazement of the beauty around her, the dark sky and lights that were hidden over the bridge left her stunned. Autumn's feet pressed against rose petals when she stepped out of the car, all in a line leading towards the bridge. Each block was square and perfectly laid, the arches were mathematical semi-circles and along the edges was a balustrade of stone carved into dome topped pillars
"What is this" Autumn whispered as they made their way over the wide bridge, leading to something else
On the Pine Hill river within ten paces of the murmuring waters of Ages Creek, there stood an extra long Canoe, decorated with lit paper lanterns floating on Lilly pads of the river, lighting a path that led down the river like a one way road
"What is this" Autumn whispered
"You didn't really think you were going to dinner and sleep all day on your birthday now did you?" Kate chuckled
The raven hair girl turned to face her girlfriend, silent by everything happening around her
"Think of it as a mini date" Kate chuckled, leading the girl down towards the edge of the river
"Happy Birthday Ms Hester" Rick grinned as the two girls approach him
"Ri-Rick?" she asked
"In the flesh" The driver smiled
"Climb on board"
Autumn chuckled softly as she made her way into the long canoe, holding her girlfriend's hands and helping her in. The two girls sat on the flat wooden bench, the warm glow of the paper lanterns brushing against their skin along with the cold air of the night
"You did this?" Autumn whispered
"Of course I did" Kate chuckled
"Why?" Autumn asked
The brunette turned to face her girlfriend, intertwining her fingers with her own and feeling her soft skin, that familiar electric charge coursed through her veins at a simple touch, causing them both to smile knowing they both felt it
"Because, it's your birthday. You've never celebrated your birthday in your life and you're twenty one years old Autumn, you deserve to be appreciated and that's exactly what I'm here for. I want you to realize how much I care, how much I value you in my life and God knows you deserve it. You're the reason I smile Autumn, now I want you to be smiling all day long and I promise to turn things around for you" Kate said
The rippling water brushed against the edge of the boat as it moved in curves between the golden, floating lanterns on the water
Autumn's throat felt tight as she bit down on her lip, fighting her glossy eyes go release the salty flow that wanted to roll down her cheek but as humans we can never really have control over our bodies
Streams of tears came rolling her her soft cheek, Kate pouted before leaning in closer, dragging her thumbs over the girl's cheek and wiping them away
"You have no idea how special you make me feel" Autumn whispered
"I'm glad I do baby" Kate chuckled before leaning in and placing a soft kiss on the girl's cheek where her tears rolled down
She then leaned over the other cheek and kissed the tear stain skin before pulling away, a small smile met her lips when she realized her red lipsticks had left two stains on Autumn's cheek
"I just want to make you happy" Kate whispered
"You make me more than happy, you're everything I honestly could ever ask for Kate" Autumn said
Another smile met Kate's lips, the kind that swelled the heart and overwhelmed all of your emotions, the exact same smile that was on Autumn's lips. Both girls giggled before leaning closer, their foreheads touching together
Kate could see wind-stirred waves in her eyes. If one were brave enough to enter their depths, all else would blur and you'd fall so deep in love that you'd choose to stay there, no matter what.
Of that, she was completely sure
