Narrator's pov

Most of us land crushes on people far out of our leagues. If we do not know them then we tend to fall for their beauty, inside and out.
Those small lines that formed on their cheek when they gave a genuine smile, the small raise in their brow when the thought of something pure came across their mind or that little side smirk they do right before they chuckle
The small things we notice because it's the only way we learn them. We see them more than anyone else emotionally, we crave to learn their hearts just as well as their physical touch
Kate and Autumn were placed to learn of each other, it was only a matter of time before they started to see each other more than just that annoying human they work with
Things had changed since that interview. Hell, things changed during their first kiss.
It only takes one small step over that boundary for you to see someone completely different
And so that's exactly what happened. They crossed that line and now they were stuck. Stuck in their own heads on what to do and if it was true
Kate's heart exploded in her chest when Autumn spoke, something tugged at her nerves with a match and lit her emotions on fire.
"I should tell you that more often" Autumn chuckled softly, making the brunette's heart flutter in her chest
Autumn's fingers cupped the girl's chin, lifting it slightly to face her own. Her pencil thin eyebrows raised into an arch when she noticed something
"Are you gonna tell me what's wrong?" Autumn asked
Kate's eyes flung wide open as a new source of adrenaline flung through her veins
"What?" Kate muttered
"I know you Kate, something's been bothering you for a while and you're not telling me about it" Autumn stated
"Oh so you know me now?" Kate chuckled causing Autumn to tilt her head to the side slightly
"Your mother works at the hospital as a nurse on weekends, she graduated top of her class but got pregnant with your sister before she even started collage which meant she joined late but that's when she also got pregnant with you. She stayed home to take care of the two of you but your father was a deadbeat, still is a deadbeat and she took alot of pressure from that. And as much as she didn't want to, she turned into her own version of him when your older sister passed away three years ago. You were the only one that was strong and quiet frankly, you still are. You've never missed a class, your homework is always on time and you pay attention to every single detail because it's something you're known to do" Autumn said
Her hand slipped onto Kate's waist as she tugged the girl into her own chest while her other hand still gripped under Kate's chin, tilting her eyes to meet her blue orbs. The brunette was lost in her own mind, her heart already racing at Autumn's words and being so close to the actress. But she was also lost in herself at the fact that Autumn studied her
"You've helped your mother as much as you could, you've picked her up at her friend's house, tucked her in when she was all stained with vomit and you've cleaned up after her just to keep her safe. You have an eye for detail because you want to make sure everything is right, all of your life you're known for making things easier and making sure everything is followed through and you do it for people, never for yourself which is why you're pushy. Unfortunately a few weeks ago I mixed that up with annoyance but as time went by, I started to learn you. I learnt the real you. And I'm happy to know her. So yeah, I do think I know you. Well atleast half of you and I'd love to learn the rest, if you'll have me" Autumn chuckled softly
A smile eternally stained upon Kate's lips. Her joy, her love, her laughter, her cheer. All reached the ears of those who have forgotten the warmth of such feeling
An explosion went off in her veins, bringing a new feeling to body that she had never felt. Something more than joy and passionate as fire, it was the first anyone had ever truly known her
Sure her friends who her story and a few moments of her life but Autumn knew her raw, inside and out. She saw her mother than a pushy teenager that talks alot, she saw her for what she became, not what she should've done right or wrong. It brought a new meaning to herself, almost as if it gave her some confidence by just knowing someone out there knew her, saw her and wanted to learn her every move
"You really listened?" Kate whispered
"Ofcourse I did" Autumn mumbled
"You're.. You're really sweet" Kate chuckled before leaning down, placing her forehead against Autumn's chest
The raven hair girl wrapped her arms around Kate's neck, holding her tighter towards her chest as she felt Kate's lips smile against her skin
"I don't know if you needed to hear this but I'm proud of you Kate"
"Oh god" Kate groaned into the girl's chest, feeling another pull on her heartstring
Autumn was melting her and she had no idea how much more of it she could take
"What?" Autumn giggled, placing her chin on the tip of the girl's head
"You're killing me" Kate whispered, sending a flutter into Autumn's heart
"Am I?" She chuckled
"Yes, I hate it" Kate groaned
"Sure you do" Autumn chuckled
"Shut up"
"No"
"Dumbass"
"Blind bitch"
"OH COME ON" Kate groaned loudly, causing the girl to laugh
A comfortable silence fell over them, nothing but their soft breaths against each other's skin invaded the icy cold wind that brushed against their arms.
The dim light of the parking lot tossed over them. Even in the velvet dark there was the light of the stars, perhaps a promise that even when we yearn for the light of the sun there will be those stars to bring hope of the dawn
Their embrace was just a perfect way to describe with relationship. Soft and delicate yet so passionate at the same time. Warmth was added from their bodies that spoke movements. Their emotions crashing together like waves and pushing and pulling like the currants, debating what was wrong if it was okay to feel a certain way
Kate leaned back, her eyes were the colour of the clay from the valley before it is baked, homely, soft.
They stared into Autumn's blue eyes touched by storm clouds. She had never seen any every emotion in them, sometimes they were a brief gust before returning to a calm sea.
"I'm scared" Autumn whispered
"What are you scared of?"
"You" Autumn stated
"Why would you be scared of me?" Kate chuckled
"Because I want you to have my heart" Autumn muttered under her breath, barely audible
"What was that?"
"Nothing, I'm just scared of your morning breath filling the kitchen everyday" Autumn smirked, earning a small slap on her shoulder
"Ow" she pouted
"Serves you damn right" Kate glared
"Dumbass" Autumn chuckled
"That's me" Kate grinned
But her smile seemed to fade away when she noticed the few twinkles in Autumn's eyes starting to disappear, she knew something was bothering the girl but Autumn didn't seem to walk to talk
"Autumn"
"Yes?"
"What's wrong?"
"No- what are you talking about"
"Oh don't play dumb with me"
"I- I'm serious, i-"
"Your brows raise higher when you lie" Kate said sternly
"Oh- damn. That's true" Autumn chuckled
"Talk to me" Kate whispered
"It's nothing"
"I'm gonna push this until you turn to bones"
"You're annoying"
"And that's exactly why you love me" Kate grinned causing the girl to raise a brow
"Do I?"
"Yes, you do"
"I don't know who told you that but they fucking lied"
Kate hissed dramatically and placed a hand over her heart, lightly pushing Autumn away so that their bodies were separated
"Ouch!" Kate playfully pouted
"No. Come back here" Autumn groaned, hooking her thumb around Kate's jeans and pulling her forward
Kate's heart wanted to flatline in her chest when their bodies collided again, the fact that Autumn wanted her warmth was spinning her head into motions. The raven hair girl wrapped her arms around Kate's waist and pulled her close while leaning her back against the flat wall of the building. Kate's heart poked at her senses like small grains of sand, exploding into joy with each passing second. Her arms wrapped around Autumn's neck as she placed the side of her face against the girl's chest again
"Dance with me" Autumn whispered
"In the middle of an empty parking lot at 1am?" Kate asked
"Yes. It's perfect isn't it?" Autumn chuckled as she squeezed the girl's body tighter, bringing them together
Autumn's body swayed with the brustle of the wind, almost as if it lifted her off her feet. Kate's feet moved across from Autumn's, matching her pace and moving slow. There was something different about them in that moment, perhaps something they've never experienced. Their faces flushed pink and their hearts beating fast in their chest, neither of them understood why their bodies reacted in ways when they were around. A simple touch raised the small hairs on their skins, a simple glance seemed to suck the air out of their lungs.
The world always moved in slow motion when it came to the two girls, almost as if it wanted to make sure they took in every single moment they had together
"Ahh" Kate squealed when Autumn's hand gripped her back and lowered her body into a dip
Kate's heart rate moved faster than running stallions through an open field, her eyes bulged wide open and her squeals went alarmingly loud
"Shhh, just trust me" Autumn chuckled as she spun the girl around and pulled her closer to her chest, then dipping her again until her hair brushed against the ground
"Autumn!" Kate giggled
"Damn, who needs a broom when I can just use your hair" Autumn snickered as she pulled the girl closer again
"Shut up" Kate chuckled
Their laughters took over themselves, filling the empty lot around them while their bodies mashed together. Their heads fell forward as their foreheads pressed against each other.
But that only seemed to fade away their smiles and started their heart rate again. Autumn took in a shaky breath when her forehead touched Kate's, their fingers still intertwined and their bodies hugging each other for warmth. Their soft pink lips trembled from the thought of barley leaning up, connected with each other
Their hot breaths lingered in their faces while their dancing slowed down. A tension pulled between them that was never there before, a yearn to be kissed by the person they wanted the most. Each other.
But with that frustration came a broken link. A push to take a step, something Autumn knew was coming and she knew it had to be done right now
"Kate" Autumn whispered, never peeling away from the girl's embrace
"Y-Yes?" Kate barely stuttered out
"I... I like you"
