Chapter 183
âThey repeatedly told me that I should take that medicine every single dayâ¦â
âWell, that was what the doctor did on his own!â
The embarrassed Arjan instantly shouted.
âI didnât ask him to do it at all!â
ââ¦did you know that? Mr. Arendt was forcing me to take that drug?â
âWell, thatâsâ¦â¦â
âDid you really work together with Mr. Arendt? Everything about me being sick as a child?â
Her calm voice was trembling even further. Her fever had been so high that it was utterly difficult to swallow even her tears and the feeling of her burning throat hurt so much that she grabbed a pillow before tearing it apart.
But the whole thing was actually done by her own familyâher own younger sister. Molitia just wanted to deny every single thing.
âAre you still going to tell me that you didnât try to kill my wife at all?â
âBut thatâs a physical ailmentâ¦â¦â
âAnd youâre still asking for evidence.â
Raven clicked his tongue at the slightest sight of provocation.
âThereâs even a doctorâs note. It will support the statement about your conspiracy with the doctor himself.â
Arjanâs body began shaking like a leaf. Her plan to implore them by saying that she knew nothing had gone wrong.
âWhy did you do that, Arjan? Why on earth?â
Arjan couldnât open her lips easily. Just as her trembling pupils couldnât focus easily, her lips were shaking periodically as well.
Jealousy reared its ugly head as it infested. As Molitia began to shine, Arjan had seemingly faded relatively. She just couldnât stand the gap.
No matter how much she failed, she felt like she could return once she broke Molitia down. She believed that if she could put Molitia under feet once again, she would shine in society like before. It was supposed to be her placeâ!
âIf you hadnât taken my placeâ¦â¦ if only you had kept yours, I wouldnât have to kill you!â
It had to be Arjan, herself, whom people praised in unison. She had to be the only one who would receive all those many compliments. It wasnât just Molitia who had been prosecuted.
Getting peopleâs attention was actually simpler than she thought. It was necessary to only have someone to shine herself with. Arjan seemed like she was able to live her whole life like thatâand she did exactly so.
Until the moment when Molitia had gotten married.
When she saw Arjan was weeping just like a roar, Molitia felt suffocated.
ââ¦place? Whoâs making that up for you? Was that really your place when you actually had stepped on someone elseâs?â
âWhat are you even talking about? If the place Iâve been reigning my whole life isnât mine, then whose is it? This is my place. Itâs all mine!â
âYou just canât keep the place where you had already stepped on others forever, Arjan. You can never be happy.â
âAre you saying that my efforts were futile?â
âThen, you donât think as such? It starts breaking down as soon as those sacrifices are put under that position.â
Molitia stood up from her seat. Since when did this happen? If she were to go back, could they turn it all around?
She shook her head. People were never things. She realized that things could no longer be rewritten and she now needed a platform to give up when she still could.
Finally, she caught Arjan in sight. Out of this current situation, she wouldnât be able to find Arjan. She couldnât even see her anymore. The indescribable feeling of woe had gripped her mind.
âI hope you realize it sooner or later.â
âSister! Molitia!â
The struggling Arjan was then turned away.
âRaven, can I go up first? Moreover, the air has turned awful now.â
âAre you going to be okay?â
As her head nodded helplessly, Raven called for a knight to assist her.
âGo get some rest. Iâll be right there.â
As she leaned with the support of her aide, Molitia slowly closed her eyes. It felt like something immense was finally being released from her mind.
As the smell disappeared, her heart became lighter as well.
It was something that she expected to some extent when she faced Arjan. But she didnât prepare herself to hit this kind of catastrophe. It was such a strange feeling.
The sense that her past was completely denied had been in vain than she had thought, but it was still bearable. She endured Arjanâs desperate attempt to erase her completely.
âWhy is that?â
Molitia took her shawl off due to the cool breeze that was tickling her cheek. The weather had gradually become fairly warm. By the time this gust of wind eventually turned hot and the sun became strong, she would be meeting her baby.
She was vaguely aware of herself. Her legs would swell just from a short walk and as if it was restive, her lower abdomen had softened as well.
