In the Night Watch, Valery would treat him every time he got injured. She had indeed seen most parts of his body.

After freshening himself up, Gerald returned to the ward.

Noticing Gerald walking in, Carolyn quickly asked, “How is it?”

“I killed Sean. The guy who attacked you ran away. I didn’t catch up with him.” Gerald said, “But Sean called him Mr. Brough. So, he was not Dax Wynger.”

Hearing that Sean was dead, Carolyn felt like crying again.

“Carolyn, you don’t have to hide these things from me!” Gerald held her hand and said, “You just need to rest. When you recover, we will face all of this together and avenge Terry!”

Carolyn nodded. Gerald and Valery chatted with her for a while, and Carolyn slowly fell asleep.

When she fell asleep, Gerald, Valery, and Macy walked out of the ward and greeted them. Gerald washed up and lay down on his bed.

Just as he lay down, his phone rang. He picked it up and saw that it was Doreen calling.

Gerald was surprised. He picked up the phone and said, “Hey, it’s so late. Are you still awake?”

“I sent you a lot of messages, but you didn’t reply to me.” Doreen said, “Are you angry?”

“Angry? Why would I be angry?” Gerald said, “I was busy today, so I didn’t look at my phone.”

“Oh! I thought after the truth was revealed, you were angry with me because of what our family had done to you!” Doreen said.

Then she let out a sigh and continued, “Gerald, let’s have lunch together tomorrow.”

“Okay!” Gerald nodded and said, “We should celebrate. Call Audrey and the others over. It’s my treat!”

“I mean I want to have a meal with you alone. I want to talk to you,” Doreen hesitated for a moment and said.

Gerald didn’t know what to say but nodded and said, “Okay!”

“Then tomorrow at noon, we will meet at Splendor Restaurant!” Doreen said and hung up the phone.

Gerald didn’t think too much about it. He turned off the phone and lay on the bed. He slowly fell asleep as he mulled over things.

He slept until the next day at ten o’clock in the afternoon before slowly getting up.

Ever since he returned home, he had been woken up by Mason every morning. He hadn’t slept so well in a long time.

Walking out of the room, Gerald saw Valery and Macy sitting on the sofa. Noticing Gerald, Valery said, “I put breakfast on the table for you. Eat it yourself!”

“I’ve been invited to a big feast.” Gerald chuckled, “I have to keep my stomach empty!”

Valery glanced at him and snorted coldly. Then, she said, “We need to take care of things quickly and leave Sacramento!”

“What?” Gerald frowned and asked, “What’s wrong?”

*The Maddox family feels Sacramento is not safe. They plan to bring Ingrid back to Washington first. We have to go there too,”

Valery said.

Gerald’s eyes slightly moved, and then a cold light flashed as he said, “It’s a good idea to go to Washington.

The underground organizations there are more active. How about this? I will deal with things here first, and you can go before me! I will come with Carolyn after her injuries recover. In addition, don’t tell her about Watchman No. 2. She doesn’t want to go back now.”

Valery nodded. “I know!”
