Chapter 219 Everyone Makes Mistakes
Peyton felt that human hearts were very simple. Despite being hurt by Nolan and Colette, she was
healed just because Kevin cooked a
delicious meal.
The more lacking in love a person is, the easier they are to be warmed by a little bit of kindness from
others.
Kevin noticed her sadness and asked, âPeyton, is there something that is making you unhappy?â
âI needed to undergo a surgery, but there was no one to sign for me. Am I a failure?â
Peyton casually uttered these words, while a glimmer of pain flowed in Kevinâs eyes.
âPeyton, everyone has a different definition of failure. In my opinion, you are the most outstanding
sister and have never failed. An unfortunate marriage is simply a mistake made in life.â
âLife is so long that no one has the ability to predict and not make mistakes.â
Peyton furrowed his brow and asked, âDo you know about me?â
âLast time on the boat, I knew it was you in Mr. Daltonâs arms. That day at the hospital, actually, I
overheard snippets of your argument in the crowd. Iâm sorry, I didnât mean to eavesdrop.â
Peyton smiled bitterly, no wonder he had been gone for so long to buy food.
F
âItâs okay, that was the truth.â
Kevin pushed the finished dessert in front of her. âPeyton, if you donât mind, I can sign for you. What
surgery are you going to have?â
Peyton whispered, âStomach removal surgery.â
Kevin said in surprise, âPeyton, you couldnât possibly beâ¦â
âItâs just as you thought.!
âHow could it be? You are so young, how could you have such a terminal illness?â
Looking at his panicked face, Peyton raised her hand and rubbed his head. âKevin, Iâm fine. Iâm
prepared, and the situation isnât as bad as you think. Iâve undergone chemotherapy once before, and it
worked well.â
Kevinâs face was like a blank sheet of paper, clearly displaying his emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, and
happiness.
Kevinâs fair face was filled with worry, with a hint of redness at the corners of his eyes. Choking back
his voice, he said, âPeyton is the best person in the world, and Iâm sure he will be safe.â
Actually, she was quite pessimistic, but the words she spoke out turned out to be comforting.
âWell, I thought the same way too.â
âPeytonâ¦â
âItâs okay, everything will be okay,â Peyton muttered, unsure if she was trying to convince Kevin or
reassure herself.
In the following days, she followed the doctorâs advice and almost cut
off all contact with the outside world.
Even Spencerâs matter, she temporarily ceased investigating, not wanting these unrelated matters to
affect her mood.
The only thing that she couldnât stop worrying about was Phillip. Since the day he left, Phillipâs phone
has been turned off. Up until now, there has been no news, and Phillipâs fate remains unknown.
The weather has been nice recently, and the seagulls were freely flying over the sea. The cherry
blossoms in the neighborhood downstairs. have also fully bloomed.
Occasionally, she would go downstairs for a stroll, as if she had walked through a cherry blossom rain,
stunningly beautiful.
She would unknowingly imagine Nolan and Helenaâs engagement scene in the past, surely extravagant
and beautiful to the extreme.
Since that day, Nolan never came to see her again, and the two of them finally went back to their own
paths,
Even if she deliberately avoided and didnât care about their news, she could still hear some rumors
about them from passersby.
Everyone thought that Nolan was a good man.
Whenever the girls excitedly discussed how good he was to Helena, Peyton always nonchalantly
walked by.
It seemed like they had never known each other.
Peyton spread out her palm, allowing cherry blossoms to fall onto her hand. She wondered if the cherry
blossoms on the island had already bloomed.
Sensing a gaze behind her, Peyton turned around cautiously, only to
meet a pair of profound eyes. She hadnât had time to conceal the deep
emotions in her eyes.
