YOUR POV

Barton and I were assigned a mission by Steve. It was an easy mission where we had to infiltrate a Hydra base, clear it out and get all the information we could before we left.

"Ready kid?" Barton called out to me as I walked out of the compound and towards the quinjet.

"I'm coming bird boy!" I called back, hearing him audibly snicker the closer I got.

"Don't worry, you'll see Nat when you get back." He patted my back and smirked at me. "She'd be mad if I let something happen to you."

It was true, even though all three of you knew you could take care of yourself. Your girlfriend Natasha still worried about you as you did her. Something could happen in a split second that could change everything, but risks came with the job I suppose.

Both of us got seated in the quinjet as Barton started it up and soon we were in the air.

[...]

Barton set the jet down somewhere hidden and away from the Hydra base so you wouldn't draw any unnecessary attention to yourselves.

"Ready?" Clint asked quietly.

"Let's go." You nodded.

We both went in different ways. Clint went in through the vents and I went in through one of the windows, opening it slowly. Climbing in the window you dropped onto the floor as quietly as you could.

Instantly my eyes landed on two Hydra agents guarding one of the doors. I got on the com to tell Clint.

"Got two by the door."

"I see them. I'll take the left and you take the right."

"Go!"

An arrow whizzed through the air and into the left guys skull as I  leaped and tackled the other guy, breaking his neck. Clint came down from the vents and landed next to me.

"The computers should be through this door right here and then we're home free." The agent smiled at me.

"I'm going to go around the rest of the building and see if there's any patrols." I replied, feeling my powers course through my veins, the tips of my fingers tingling.

Hawkeye nodded his head before I began running towards a dark corridor. I hid behind a wall when I heard two agents talking and laughing with one another.

Using my powers I broke open the water dispenser, making the liquid spill out all over the floor.

"What the..?" One of the gasped as the water began soaking into their shoes.

I made the water swirl around them before shoving it down their throats and nose, their muffled gags echoing softly off the basic concrete walls before they both drowned. Their bodies fell to the ground with thud, water surrounding them in a giant puddle.

Sneaking around the rest of the compound, I stopped right in front of one of the doors just as the alarm went off. The flashing red light kept flashing across my face as my com buzzed in my ear.

"Ummm so I may have done something..." Clint said sheepishly.

"For fucks sake Barton." I rolled my eyes as four Hydra agents came running out of the room with weapons at the ready.

I dodged an incoming knife aiming right for my throat, punching him in the gut and making him stumble into the other three agents.

I hissed in pain when one of them shot me in the shoulder, missing my head when I dodged another incoming attack from a knife. A punch to the side of my face before I was kicked down to the ground. I placed my palm on the ground making the concrete material rumble. I tossed my hand in the air and concrete spikes managed to impale two out of the four hydra agents. The other two dodged out of the way.

I pushed myself off the ground just as more agents came from a different direction.

"I need some help over here, Barton!" You said breathlessly into the com.

"I'm on my way, kid."

"Enough with the kid, bird boy." I scoffed, grabbing an oncoming agents wrist who held a pistol in his hand, breaking his wrist, catching the gun as it fell before shooting him. I tossed the gun at one guys throat making him gag and stumble back, enough time for me use my powers and impale him with another concrete spike.

"I'll stop calling you kid when you stop calling me bird boy." Barton chuckled before grunting.

"Not going to happen." I chuckled. The building shook as an explosion went off and I assume it was Barton using a different type of arrow.

I felt a bullet graze my ear before I felt a knife lodge itself in my back and through the front of my stomach. This wasn't a fucking knife, more like a machete. I coughed and spat out some blood onto the floor. My body was becoming weak due to all the damage it was taking and I started to feel like maybe I was going to die here.

That was until an arrow whizzed through the air and embedded itself into the wall, exploding a few moments later.

"Did you call me?" Barton smiled before his lips frowned and his eyes swam with worry when he saw the machete embedded into my skin.

"Fashionably late are we?" I coughed up more blood, falling to the ground amongst all the fallen Hydra soldiers.

"Come on, we got to get you out of here." Clint came and tried to pick me up off the floor but I hissed in protest.

"No! Go and get the... intel. Give me a few seconds." I pushed the man off me.

"Y/n-"

"-Go! This mission will not go to waste because I was careless and got stabbed."

Clint clenched his jaw, telling me he'd be back and I should say put before running off. Moments later bird boy came back, showing me the black flash drive full of intel for Steve and the others to look at.

"Now let's get you out of here. Alive." Clint slung his bow over his shoulder before picking me up in his arms, strings of profanities leaving my lips.

[...]

Clint set me down on the quinjet floor, putting random things around me frantically so that I wouldn't go anywhere. Eventually we were ready to go for take off and back to the compound where Dr. Cho could remove the machete from my stomach.

"You know Nat is going to be soooo mad." Clint laughed like this was the funniest thing.

"She'll be mad at you too." I groaned in pain when I moved a little.

"She just gets worried. You know she loves you." Clint said softly. "Should we call her before we get there?"

"No-"

Calling Agent Romanoff

"FRIDAY, don't do that!" I said frantically, sitting up much to my bodies protest as the computer began calling my girlfriend.

"Hello? Clint, is everything okay? Is y/n okay?" Natasha's worried voice rang throughout the jet.

"FRIDAY HANG UP!" I yelled in pure panic, cursing the computer when the call finally ended.

[...]

Both of us finally made it back to the compound and I was thankful because my body started feeling weaker and blood was soaked into my shirt.

"Oh my god, what happened?!" Natasha asked Clint immediately when both of us walked into the compound. Well, he was helping me walk.

"Some guy took out his aggression on me." I joked, smiling sheepishly at my worried girlfriend.

"I'm going to take her to Dr. Cho." Clint said, beginning to walk towards the medic area when my girlfriend stopped him.

"I'll take her, go talk to Steve."

I groaned in pain when Natasha's pinched my hurt side.

"What the hell Nat!" I clenched my jaw.

"That's for scaring me to death!"

[...]

The surgery went well, the machete tore some of your insides (obviously) on its way in and they just needed to be stitched up, along with your wound. You were recommended to stay in the medical bay just so you could be monitored and make sure there was no infection.

You got comfortable, wincing due to the pain where your stitches were. Turning your head to the side you saw your girlfriend Nat outside the medical bay while Dr. Cho was talking to her.

From inside the room you could see tears running down her face she was trying not to let fall. She clenched her jaw before nodding her head. Dr. Cho left and soon your girlfriend entered the room.

"Babe.." You started softly, holding your hand out for your girlfriend to take.

Natasha didn't show emotion around the others, but with you she let everything out. She was comfortable around you enough to do so, and Clint of course.

"You scared me. I thought," The red head sniffled, "I thought I lost you. When FRIDAY called... I just had this feeling something bad happened."

"You didn't lose me. I'm okay, I'm right here."

Natasha grabbed your hand and you squeezed it in reassurance. With soft eyes you watched your girlfriend sit next to you on the hospital bed, resting her head on your shoulder.

"No more missions for awhile, okay? Just stay here with me and take it easy." Her green eyes bore into my (e/c) eyes.

I nodded, pecking her forehead and then nose, watching as she scrunched it up cutely, "Only if you do the same."

"Deal." A small smile tugged at her plump lips before she leaned in and you both shared a passionate kiss.
