Chapter 0064 Chapter 0064 Ella POV âIâm sorry, I have to take this,â I said, motioning to my ringing phone. âItâs my father.â
âNo problem,â Elizabeth answered. âGo ahead, I donât mind.â
I smiled appreciatively at her and put the phone to my ear. Hello?â
âDavid is here,â my father said, his tone laced with obvious irritation. âHe refuses to leave unless he speaks to you.
11 âI have nothing to say to him,â I replied, equally irritated. I just saw his latest television appearance, and itâs clear he has nothing of value to say to me.â
âI agree,â my father said, âbut I think itâs time we put an end to all this. Iâd like you to speak to him faceâtoâface one last time, and if he continues to cause trouble after that, Iâll handle it.â
I hesitated. I really didnât want to have anything more to do with David, but he wasnât going to stop bothering me or my family.
It would be difficult for my father and my pack if I continued to let this drag out. There were social rules about how this sort of thing had to be handled, and as the child of the Alpha, I had to abide by those rules, no matter how much I hated them.
âIâll come home right away,â I said with a sigh.
âThank you,â my father said before hanging up the phone.
âI have to go deal with something,â I said, smiling awkwardly at Elizabeth. âIâm so sorry I have to cut this short.â
âIs it David?â she asked.
I nodded. âIt seems heâs determined to speak to me and wonât stop bothering my parents until I agree.â
Elizabeth stood up and stepped around to my side of the table. I stood as well, and she wrapped me in a tight hug. I returned the hug gratefullyâit was a warm, comforting gesture that did more to boost my confidence and ease my nerves than she could have possibly understood.
âBe strong,â she whispered. âIf you need anything, please donât hesitate to call me. Weâre friendsâjust remember that.â
âThank you,â I said sincerely. I pulled her into one more quick hug, then turned and rushed out to meet my driver.
The quickest I could get home was in an hour, and my parents were going to have to put up with Davidâs whining and lies for all of that time, so I couldnât afford to hesitate.
The driver seemed to sense my urgency and took the fastest route possible back to my parentsâ home. We arrived in slightly under an hour, and to my surprise, it seemed that my parents had not allowed David to enter the house.
I could see him standing at the front steps with my father, who was standing in front of the door, his arms crossed and a stern look on his face as he stared at David expectantly.
âWhat are you doing here?â I demanded as I stepped up the walkway toward the door.
David whirled around to look at me, and a smile of relief crossed his face. âWhere have you been?â he asked.
âThatâs absolutely none of your business,â I replied coldly. What are you doing here?â
1/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 0064 âI just want to talk,â he said. âIâve tried to give you your space, but you wonât reply to any of my letters or calls.â
âBecause I have nothing to say to you,â I said, stepping to stand beside my father. âI owe you nothing, David. Absolutely nothing, and that includes my time. Youâve wasted enough of my life pretending to care about me. I want to move on with my life, and you should do the same, âI donât want to move on,â David said firmly. âI want you in my life.â He took a step towards me.
âThat isnât going to happen,â I answered.
The way he was speaking and looking at me made it clear he still intended to win me back somehow. I felt I had no choice but to tell him, once and for all, that he had to leave me alone.
I didnât expect for it to take so much time to break my ties to him. He didnât love me, I knew that much from the original timeline.
Because of that, I thought that he would be happy to be rid of me.
âI have nothing to say to you,â I told him.
I could feel my father step closer behind me, keeping a cautious eye on us in case anything should happen. David glanced at him nervously, then turned his eyes back to me.
âHow can you say that?â David asked. âDoes our past together mean nothing to you?â
âClearly, our future together meant nothing to you,â I replied angrily. âDonât try to turn this around on me. Youâre the one who destroyed our relationship after I had already given you a second chance.â
âI told you, it wasnât my fault!â David argued. âIt was Amanda! I donât know if she used drugs or magic or what she did, but she forced me-â
âDonât lie to me,â I commanded, my patience thinning. âIâm sick of listening to your lies. Amanda didnât make you do anything.
She loved you, and you used her, just like you tried to use me.â
âThatâs a lie!â David said, his eyes wide, desperation creeping into his voice.
He truly believed he could still talk me into taking him back, but nothing he had tried was working. I knew that he was nearing his breaking point.
I had no idea how he might react to when he realized that it was really over. Behind David, I could see the driver standing at the end of the walkway. He had a concerned look on his face and he wasnât taking his eyes off of David.
âThis is pointless,â I said firmly. âThereâs nothing you can say that will change my mind. Thereâs nothing you can do that will fix this.â
âBut I have nothing without you,â he pleaded. From the look on his face, he was being serious. He really thought that he would lose everything now.
Good. I hoped that he was right.
âYou should have thought about that before you disrespected me and betrayed me,â I replied coldly.
âYouâll never have a future without me!â David screamed.
I stared at him with wide eyes as his face turned red with anger and he stepped toward me.
âThatâs enough,â my father said, his voice filled with outrage. âGet off my property and donât ever come near my daughter again.â
A the sound of my fatherâs order, the driver rushed forward and grabbed David by the arm. A guard came out of seemingly nowhere and grabbed his other arm. David struggled against their grip with his eyes fixed on me the 2/3 +25 BONUS Chapter 0064 entire time.
I stepped closer to my father as fear gripped me. I didnât want to know what David might do if he managed to get a grip on me right now.
Iâd never seen him so angry.
âYou canât do this!â David yelled, trying to pull free from the guards. âYou canât do this to me!â
âYouâve done this to yourself,â my father replied coldly.
Davidâs eyes locked onto mine, and I saw a burning rage there like I had never seen before. âYouâre going to pay for this, Ella Rowan,â he spat. âYouâre going to pay for rejecting me!â
I watched as the guards dragged him away, and a shudder of fear went through me. I knew, deep down, that he meant his threat.
