Chapter 0230 Chapter 0230 Ella POV The next morning at the Castle, doubt still clung to me like a heavy fog. The last time I’d gone through with a wedding, I’d known in my heart it would end in disaster.

This time, it wasn’t certainty that haunted me–it was uncertainty.

Last night, I was convinced that I had placed the voice of my mysterious savoir; today, I was filled with doubt. It didn’t make sense, I just couldn’t be right about who it was..

“I might,” I said, trying to laugh but failing miserably. “Nothing’s happened. I’m just far more nervous than I expected to be.”

“That’s only natural,” Elizabeth said, her tone reassuring. “You’re getting married–it’s nerve–wracking and exciting. A total rollercoaster.”

“I don’t know if that’s it,” I admitted hesitantly. “I didn’t feel this way the first time around.”

Elizabeth hesitated, clearly weighing her words. “Could that be because you weren’t sure about who you were marrying the first time? I mean, I know what happened with David and Amanda was shocking, but... do you think there might have been signs you picked up on, even subconsciously?”

“Maybe,” I said, though uncertainty lingered. “Or maybe I just didn’t have time to think about anything. I had so much work to do that day. David certainly didn’t help–nowhere near the way Alexander has.”

“It is impressive,” Elizabeth said, her voice brightening. “Not only did he get the Castle, but also the absolute best caterers in the kingdom, incredible musicians... I can’t wait to see your dress! I just know tonight is going to feel like a dream.”

I nodded, trying to absorb her optimism. “I’m sure you’re right,” I said, managing a small smile. “I just need to get a handle on my nerves.”

Elizabeth reached over, giving my hand a quick squeeze. “You’ve got this,” she said warmly. “If anyone deserves a happily ever after, it’s you.”

“I don’t know about that,” I replied hesitantly.

“Well, I do,” Elizabeth said firmly, her tone leaving no room for doubt. “I know we haven’t known each other for very long, and there’s still so much we don’t know about one another, but I’ll tell you this, Ella–I’m an excellent judge of character.
