Chapter 70
(28.3)
Gu Sheng looked like a well-bred lady from a distinguished family and her manners were flawless.
When facing her, Gu Sheng always maintained a smiling face, as if she would never get angry no matter what. Her voice was very soft and she blinked at her as she said, âSister Wanwan, actually I picked today, a day when Ah Yi wasnât home, to come find you.â
She said the two syllables Ah Yi really sweetly ah.
Lu Wanwan herself had never called him this way.
Her face turned taut and her ears perked up, she asked, âYou coming here, what is it that you want to say to me ?â
Gu Sheng couldnât get a nice face from her, but she wasnât ashamed nor annoyed about it. Narrowing her eyes, she smiled: âToday is Grandpa Shenâs birthday, did you know?â
She pursed her lips and smiled lightly: âShen Yi and I had a marriage engagement when we were kids, but then after his mother took him away, the engagement was called off.â
âI also know that Sister Wanwan and Shen Yi donât seem to have a good relationship, I even thought you two had already divorced.â
As Gu Sheng was speaking, she paused for a split second, then resumed, âIf you two were already divorced, Grandpa Shen would have announced my marriage to Shen Yi tonight.â
âBut unfortunately, you arenât yet divorced.â
After listening to such a long monologue, Lu Wanwan finally understood what Gu Sheng came to her door for today.
The female lead, that fake white rabbit, wanted to make a move and snatch away the man?
Lu Wanwan smiled lightly: âMiss Gu has said so many words, what is your intention ?â
Gu Shengâs smile remained unchanged as she slowly said: âI just want to persuade Sister Wanwan to let go as soon as possible. Only then will you find a suitable man for you. Anyway, even if youâre not willing, the Shen family canât tolerate you, sooner or later, they will find a way to force Shen Yi to divorce you.â
âToday, Iâm just reminding you with good intention.â
Lu Wanwan frowned: âAre you done speaking ?â
Gu Sheng was very tactful, âI wonât bother you much longer.â
Lu Wanwan absolutely didnât believe that the Shen family could force Shen Yi to do anything, and besides, it was Shen Yi who wasnât willing to sign the divorce agreement.
The day was getting darker, Lu Wanwanâs gaze looked far, into the distance, outside the window.
Today wasnât only the grandfather Shenâs birthday, it was also Shen Yiâs birthday, but most probably his parents didnât remember this date anymore.
In the evening, Shen Yi opened the door of the apartment and came back home.
It was raining lightly outside, and he didnât have an umbrella. His hair was half wet, clear droplets of water were dripping from the tips of his hair.
Shen Yi was carrying a box with a cake inside in his hand, which he placed on the dining table, he then went into the bathroom and took a shower. He was afraid that he would catch a cold, by then, if he transmitted it again to Lu Wanwan, that wouldnât be good.
The man also changed his clothes and he dried his hair, which were half dry when he came out of the bathroom. His body looked slender, his face was like white jade, his expression was bland.
âToday is my birthday, can you eat a piece of cake with me?â
Lu Wanwan was sitting cross-legged, hearing him saying the words with a low voice, her stiff face loosened a bit, and she stiffly said one word, âOkay.â
Shen Yi had bought a strawberry cake, covered in cream with a layer of strawberries, both bright and red.
He himself didnât enjoy eating strawberries, but Lu Wanwan liked to eat these sweet and sour flavored fruits.
Before cutting the cake, Lu Wanwan suddenly said, âBefore you came back, a guest came.â
âWho?â
âGu Sheng.â
âOh.â
An oh word, with no extra words.
At this time, the female lead was still an insignificant person to Shen Yi.
Lu Wanwan held her chin with both hands. The warm light overhead was dim, its pale warm light gently shone on the manâs white jade-like exquisite face.
He lowered his head, his pair of beautiful hands were holding the knife as he was seriously cutting the cake.
Smiling, she said, âGu Sheng said that she and you had a marriage engagement.â
Shen Yi cut a large piece and put it on her plate, unconcerned: âIs that so?â
âYes.â
Shen Yi thought for a long time, but couldnât remember Gu Shengâs appearance. He recalled though, that he seemed to always hear this name in Li Xingâs mouth.
His gaze turned deep as his eyes went cold inch by inch.
He didnât like other people coming to disturb Lu Wanwanâs life.
Lu Wanwan took the cake he handed over and started eating it, one bite at a time. The strawberries were fresh and the cream was not greasy, it tasted very good.
This manâs taste had never changed, as if he was the same today as a decade ago, whether it was his own birthday, or her birthday.
The man always bought strawberry cakes.
Thatâs how he was, towards the person or the things he was interested in, he was obsessed.
After eating the cake, Lu Wanwan tilted her face and met his gaze. She decided to gently say, âHappy birthday.â
Seemingly very happy, Shen Yi had a large smile, his eyes curved, with what looked like stars inside of them.
There actually werenât many times where she had willingly wished him a happy birthday.
Most of the time, it was Shen Yi who used compelling methods to force these few words out of her mouth.
Thinking about it, it was so pitiful oh.
As Lu Wanwan was letting her thoughts run wild, Shen Yi went to the balcony to make a phone call.
âLi Xing, keep Gu Sheng in check.â
âTell her to stay away from Lu Wanwan.â
âAlso tell this cousin of yours that I have a bad temperament and wonât have tenderness, nor pity for the fairer s*x.â
Except for Lu Wanwan, others were unworthy of his tenderness.
