Chapter 42: Chapter 41.

The Villainess just don't care ~Words: 11941

So how am I supposed to prove to him? I kept pondering about this all night long.  Today it is day one and I'm sitting in my room thinking.

Succession is a long procedure and the training for it usually starts since childhood. There's nothing wrong with my training all except the physical aspect. All it needs to be done is be strong enough to protect myself and brave enough to carry on the responsibilities of the knights. I'm brave and strong but I have to show it.

Are swords the only thing that'll protect you? I pulled a strand of my hair annoyed.

I looked at the whip placed on the table infront of me while I'm sitting on a chair. I took the lightning crystals out of it and began speculating it.

Lightning crystals are yellow stones which have a light glow to them. This can be our substitute for electricity. Should I use my guild to buy all the lightning crystals mining areas in the kingdom?

"Mary, inform Claire to prepare a list of mines filled with lightning crystals " I said to the brunette who was changing the curtains.

"Sure, mylady" She smiled and gave me a quick nod.

I can worry about it later for now I have to practice. With that I rose from my seat and took the whip and the crystals.

To the practice grounds!

I asked the knights to arrange a few dummy dolls for me to practice. I strolled on the practice grounds while checking out the dolls. There were stupid faces drawn on them.

I didn't expect our knights to be this childish.

I decided to choose a doll which had no doodles. Oh wait it does have doodles but it seems to have faded.

Hmmmm.. Suddenly I got an idea.

"Mary! Can you fetch me a pen?"I asked her loudly.

After a while she came back with a pen. I took it and asked her to step back and rest under the shade. After raining for three days straight we are finally able to see the sun. Today seems auspicious.

I'm not good at art but let's see how my sketch goes. I began to doodle on the doll.

...... And viola it's done!... I doodled the face of his highness the trash prince. Although it doesn't look like him much because of my awful drawing. Well whatever, I did my best. Let's write his name just to be sure it's him.

I wrote his name 'Alexander' on the doll. It's done!

Kekekekekekeke I let out an evil laugh.

Next I should create a doll of Sung ho! Now I feel extremely motivated.

Fighting Salvarina fighting! I chanted inwardly to boost myself.

I clenched the whip and took my stance. Prepare to die bastard!

I switched on the whip and small bolts of electricity came rushing through it. I swung the whip towards that bastard and it circled the trash prince perfectly. I tightened my grip on him and unleashed the full current. The doll turned into crisps.

Oops. Too much rage is harmful.

I shook my head.

Now it's your turn dear Sung-ho.

Kekekekekekekekekeke.

Third person's pov:

As the young lady continued to cackle and swing around the dolls. All the servants and knights watching this scene unfold were getting goosebumps.

Not one soul except Mary was seen near the training grounds of the lady.

'Ah what a nice day it is. I missed the sun for days' Mary thought while sitting under a tree and glancing at her master. ' mylady is working really hard. Go for it mylady! Fighting!' She thought oblivious of the frightening aura her ladyship was releasing.

The beati- training went around for hours. Finally Salvarina decided to take a break. She wiped her sweat on a towel brought by Mary and was drinking lemon juice.

"Thank you, Mary. " She thanked her maid and handed over the glass.

Salvarina resumed her training by lifting and throwing dolls of different weights using her whip.

' I'll reach nowhere in one day. In order to lift heavy dolls I need to build my muscles which will take weeks. So for now I'll show father my agility. Should I ask for a combat with the knights? I don't think I can drag them with the whip though much less lift them.' She thought while sighing.

Unknown to her one more person was present there except Mary and her. He was observing her every move. ' She has the determination but she doesn't have time' Sir Ernst Wilde thought observing the lady. Slowly a smile crept up on his lips ' Your daughter is a fighter Duke. It's a pity that she'll have to give up soon' He thought looking at the lady who continued to drag and throw the dolls.

The Duke also received report regrading Salvarina. He read the contents and sighed. ' Sorry my daughter. This time you have to listen to me' He glanced at the potrait of his wife hung on the walls of his bedroom.

"I wish you were here, love" He whispered while looking at the beautiful woman with orange hair and green eyes.

In the evening when Salvarina was still beati-training the sky became clouded.

"Mylady, we should head back it's going to rain soon" Mary urged.

"Alright...."Salvarina agreed.

Back to Salvarina's pov:

Tomorrow is the day that I'll be showing father how useful my whip is! I was in the bath water clenching my fists already pumped up about tomorrow.

The morning I woke up and did my preparations. Butler Cedric told me that father was present in the training grounds. I was wearing my training suit and took my whip.

I checked the lightning crystals within the whip. And looked at myself in the mirror.

Finally! I'm ready!

I wore a proud grin. I can't believe the lengths I'm going just to have a whip as my weapon. Can anyone blame me though? It's really fun using a whip than a sword not to mention an electricuting one at that.

Mary and I arrived at grounds and saw father standing at the sidelines with Sir Ernst Wilde. No one else was present there.

Father was wearing glasses and a robe over his casual clothing. Sir Ernst Wilde was wearing a full body armor. He was in the middle of training it seems.

Mary went to her usual spot under the tree. Today the sky looked cloudy like it would rain but nevertheless I won't back done.

It's time. I mentally prepared myself and gripped the whip. The dummies were all placed around me. I switched on the whip and in an instant electric current came surging through it. It took only a few seconds to completely wipe out all the dummies. They turned into crisps.

I looked at my father in anticipation. He held an indifferent face.

What the...? Wasn't that amazing?

Oh.... I get it! He's not interested because they are dummies. If it were real humans then maybe..

Before I could process my thoughts I heard footsteps approach me. I turned my head and realized that Sir Ernst Wilde was standing before me.

Wasn't he with father just now?

He looked at me and unsheathed his sword and took on a stance.

Don't tell me... He's gonna-?

"Lady Salvair, let's have a duel" He declared.

"Sir Wilde?"I was baffled. I slowly glanced at father who was watching the whole scene with a surprised face.

Maybe this is my opportunity. If I defeat Sir Wilde who is a war hero then father wouldn't have anything against me. But I'm forgetting something.... Sir Wilde is an excellent warrior while me on the other hand...?

All I have is my scrawny arms and a noodle like whip. I grimaced while comparing myself with the well built warrior.

No no no. Don't get dejected Salvarina. You forgot something. Your scrawny arms have gotten some muscles due to the training with Sir Wilde not to mention your whip is not just any whip it's an electricuting whip.

I nodded at myself and looked at Sir Wilde.

"I agree" I answered and both of us looked at the Duke who stood there rooted still unable to wake up to reality.

"Ahem-then I'll be the judge" Father finally snapped back to reality and declared

I clenched my whip in my gloved hand and continued to take my stance in front of the armored man.

"Mylady, you can do this!"I heard Mary's cheerful voice.

That's right. I can do this!

"Start!" Father announced

Without waiting Sir Wilde came rushing towards me with his sword. The sword was big and it sliced past me as I quickly dodged it.

Damn. Looks like this guy is going all out on me.

I shouldn't hold back either. I gripped the whip and swung it towards him. The whip encircled him perfectly. Before he could slash the whip using his sword, I decided to give him a shock. Electric current ran through the whip and it struck him within the armour.

He collapsed but didn't fall down completely. He used his sword as a support to get back up.

The armour is a made of mythril and mythril is not as conducting as steel maybe that's why he survived.

Hmmm? My eyes widened when I noticed that Sir Wilde was taking off his armour and his helmet.

Tch... that armour was heavy and was slowing him down which allowed me to dodge quickly but if he ends up removing it I don't know if I'll survive.

Sir Wilde had a cotton shirt underneath and some rugged brown pants. He reminds me of Blemon as both of them look like a bear.

Wait. Now's not the time to be judging his appearance. It's time to kick his ass.

He gripped the giant sword in his right hand and narrowed his eyes at me. I swung my whip quickly and he dodged it. He sliced my whip with that sword.

Crap. That sword can chop this whip into pieces. I have to do something quick.

I activated the electric surge and charged on him just as when small drops of water came pouring on us.

It started to rain!

The electric whip before it could even touch him,the current in it came rushing to me.

The next thing I know I became Flash.

Hahaha. Water is a good conductor of electricity. I laughed inwardly at my ridiculous situation.

Just like that I was frozen on spot and burnt into crisps.

More and more rain came pouring down and I fell down on the muddy ground.

"Mylady!-Salvarina!-Lady Salvair!" Voices of Mary, father and Sir Wilde resonated in the space as I lost my vision.

***

Where am I?

It was still dark and I couldn't feel a thing.

'Salvarina, there's a reason why we let you be here. Don't disappoint us' I could hear a beautiful voice of a woman.

The voice was so calming and so soothing for a moment I forgot about all my worries.

And then I could finally feel myself again.

"Mylady! You are finally awake!" I opened my eyes to see the blurry image of Mary wailing.

"...Ma.. ry?"I croaked out.

I could hear the door burst open. Father came rushing in and behind him I could see a man in white robe.

Father looked haggard. He looked at me with gentle eyes. I could see the love he had for me in his eyes. Soon it wasn't just love but tears too.

Father began to cry and caressed my face.

"Salvarina, my dear daughter... I thought I could never see you again" The strict and upright duke began wailing like a child.

If I wasn't aching all over I would've probably bullied him right now. I was smiling while looking at my father.

"I'm not dying before you, father. As they say elders first, I don't want to be rude" I held a wide grin.

Father gave me a soft smile with his tear stained face. His hair was looking like a lion's mane.

Father quickly turned his face to the man in white robe and glared at him.

"You- how dare you give false assessment!" Father roared at the man.

"No, your grace. My judgement was correct! I swear I couldn't feel any pulse-" the man trembled before father.

"Enough! Get out this instant! Cedric, appoint a new doctor right now!" Father roared in anger.

"No, your grace please! Don't suspend me!" The man fell on his knees and was begging.

"You should be lucky that I'm only firing you." Father spoke with a cold voice which made the man tremble even more.

"Y.. e.. s..Y-es" the man began to thank father and crawled out of the room in a panic.

Wow. There's so much happening right now since I'm awake.

Father then turned towards me and caressed my hair.

"Don't worry about anything and continue to rest. The maids will assist you in everything so get well soon" Father continued to caress my head and I could feel the warmth from him. The warmth of love.

I closed my eyes and continued to drift to sleep but there was a question in my mind.

Who did that beautiful voice belong to?
