After Xenoc had left I decided to continue my work and now it's almost evening and even the rain had stopped.
I got up from my chair and stretched my arms.
Maybe I should start doing yoga...?
I should get going. My curfew is until the sun sets so I still have some time.
I decided to organise my desk only to see that the quill which I was using to write until a minute ago was nowhere to be seen.
Did it grew legs and ran away?
I got annoyed and decided to leave it.
Whatever...it'll come back soon,afterall I take great care of my quills-
-Except that I end up snapping most of them because of the stress.
I made my way downstairs where most of my staff are present including Mr John, Claire and Max.
"Good evening" I greeted as I approached them.
"Good evening,lady!" All of them chimed.
"Why are you guys huddled at this table for?" I asked as I looked at the table.
There were many gadgets in display.
When I glanced back at them they were all gawking at me.
"Is there something on my face?"I asked looking at all of them.
"Ah-well pardon me, but mylady you have a quill stuck on your hair"Max sprouted almost controlling his laughter while Claire and Mr John deadpanned.
So that's where it run off too. I took the quill from my hair and I swear this stupid red hair is worse than a bird's nest like literally anything get's tangled in here.
Maybe I should braid them. I was thinking while looking at the quill in my hands when my gaze fell on the table with gadgets.
"Huh? Isn't this Mr John's?" I asked looking at Mr John.
These gadgets resemble the ones I saw at his house.
"Yes well we decided to sell more of them but we haven't decided which. Also most of them are faulty, mylady "Mr John proclaimed seriously.
Ooooh. This is interesting... Maybe I can ask Mr John to make me a smartphone....
Nah. Poor guy will end up cursing me.
My eyes skimmed past each and every object as I saw a flashlight among them.
"Mr John..This is?" I asked while lifting the flashlight.
"Ah. That's something I invented similar to the street lights but this one doesn't need magic like the street lights instead a crystal called lightning crystal is used to power this device"He explained.
Lightning crystal? Electricity?
Suddenly I heard a chime... It was the sound of money.
Now this is going to be revolutionary. I'll be the first person to invent electricity here as nobles are dependent on magic artifacts but commoners are poor so they can't afford it.
With this lightning crystal maybe I can help improve the lifestyle of commoners and also earn plenty of money.
I was lost in my money making thoughts when suddenly my eyes fell on a strange rope like thing placed at the edge of the table.
I went forward and took it and began to speculate the rope like thing.
It's a whip?
I glanced at Mr John who sweatdropped while seeing me with a whip.
As I continued my speculation I noticed a button on the whip and ended up clicking it. And then suddenly bolts of electricity began springing up and over the whip.
This is.....an electricuting whip!!!
I was astounded by this invention.
"Mylady- be careful, it's just something I experimented on" Mr John said worriedly.
"Is this the only one of its kind?"I asked still not taking my eyes of the whip.
"Good" I smiled at him while he stood there puzzled.
"Anyways, can you tell me more about this lightning crystal?" I inquired.
"Oh that...well mylady, I was paid by the lightning crystal by one of the mercanaries I used to work with. Lightning crystals are usually found on hilly areas where lightning strikes and it's one of the cheapest crystals" Mr John said.
No wonder it's cheap. They don't know how to use this crystal. Maybe I can invent things that run on electricity here. Of course tv and internet are far from it but still there's so many things that are helpful for us and more importantly for the commoners.
I smiled as my gaze averted back to the whip in my hands.
"I'll be taking this!" I declared as Mr John continued to look at me like I grew two horns.
"As for the payment you can collect it from our revenue" I added as my smile began to widen.
Kekekekekekekeke.
I found my weapon!
"M-Mylady?" I snapped back from my thoughts and looked at the people standing there terrified at my expression.
"What?" I asked dumbfounded.
"N-Nothing" all of them said and began to give an awkward laugh.
"I should get going..... there's some work at the guild" Max said and hurried off.
"I'll have to check the finances"Claire proclaimed and dashed off.
Now it was only me and Mr John left.
"I-"
"I'll be leaving first" I cut him off as I began to walk away giving him a smile and a stern nod.
"Take care, your ladyship" He gave a bow.
Father's going to be proud!

Cause his daughter ,the new duchess Salvair, has found the right weapon!

"Are you s-serious?"the Duke asked while massaging his temples.
I was currently sitting in the Duke's study and was telling him about my weapon which is none other than the whip I just bought.
When I first broke the news he thought I was joking but when I didn't laugh he knew I was being serious.
"Of course I am being serious, father. All it was said in the law was to claim a short range weapon as mine to inherit the dukedom, which I did just now so I could inherit the dukedom"I declared proudly.
He looked like he was speechless. He took a quick glance at my whip which was on the table and then took a heavy sigh.
Parenting is a pain.
Sorry, father.But I really do feel like it's my weapon.
"Tell me about this whip" He asked with an unpleasant expression.
Good. He didn't reject me.....yet.
"It's an electricuiting whip!... Father this is going to be revolutionary!.. I know you are confused but look.. this whip doesn't work on magic it works on lightning crystals! Lightning crystals are a new way of making money-" I began to explain.
"I understand what you are trying to say" He interjected.
"You do?" I asked dumbfounded.
"You want us to buy heaps of lighting crystals and sell them"He replied with an obvious face.
"Yes father"I answered enthusiastically.
"That won't be happening Salvarina. Do you have any idea how much of a loss this is going to be? You can't sell lightning crystals without building the artifacts which can fully harness it's energy and even if you miraculously found it like this whip that won't be enough you have to advertise it. You have to make the people accept it which certainly isn't going to be an easy task" He said sternly.
"I know it's not easy to make people try something new but think about it father if we bring this forward this isn't just about money this is going to change everyone's way of living. Until this very moment everyone has been depending on magic then what will happen when we introduce this?"I askedwith sparkling eyes.
The Duke didn't say anything.
"A whip isn't a noble weapon"He said.
"I know but father-"I didn't give up persuading him.
"But if you prove me it's abilities and worth I shall reconsider"He said with a small smile.
That's easy!
Or is it?
I nodded while smiling ear to ear.
"Two days that's all you get"He further informed.
My smile froze.
