Chapter 31: Chapter 30.

Elixir's pov:

How long has it been since I began to trust someone again?

I looked at the brunette haired girl beside me whining about how tired she is.

"School was exhausting...." She said while resting her head on my shoulder.

"Mmhmm.. I'm glad you survived"I replied while gently patting her head , my eyes still not leaving the page of my book.

Soon she began to ask me about my future plans. Obviously I don't know myself what I'm gonna do. I don't know how long I'll be staying here as well.

"But then what about college​? Aren't you gonna attend college?"  She asked me as curiousity filled her eyes.

"Not really" I replied nonchalantly.

"But you have to have a job to live in this world, Wonwoo. So you must attend college"she was being persistent.

"Hmmm.. That's true.. But it's in this world" I mumbled.

"Anyways Heun, You don't have to worry about me. I'll be working with my uncle. He said he'll be opening a new Japanese restaurant here soon enough" I said smiling while closing my book with a thud.

"I see"  She mumbled.

She opened her bag and took out a book.

"Is it some new fantasy novel?"I inquired. She's been reading too much of those fantasy books lately.

"Yep" She chimmed.

"Hmmm.. Let me guess..A few men chasing around a girl who happens to be the most innocent and pure girl in the kingdom and every woman is jealous of her and thus tries to torment her and that's when her princes come dashing to protect her and she ends up with them.. Happily ever after" I blabbered without stopping in the middle.

"How do you know that?"She  narrowed her eyes and honestly she looked really adorable.

"That's the kind of book that you always read. It's always about some rival love stories" I fake rolled my eyes and chuckled at how she pouted.

"Yeah yeah and it's fun to read. Come on I brought this book for you to read. it's interesting. The book's name is 'four blossoms of spring'" She said while showing off the book with her jazz hands.

"Oooh then it's four men chasing a woman?" I said while inspecting the book by taking it from her hands.

"That is correct . I know you like the books related to monsters and that is why I brought this for you!"She smiled brightly.

Is she really serious? Although it's true that I like monsters but not something straight out of a cliche book rather I'm more into Greek monsters.

"I am serious. Have you heard about the greek monster Cerberus?"

Now that pricked my interest

"Well.. In the climax of this book that monster will appear."

That sounds interesting.

"Really?" I looked at her while she nodded her head proudly.

I flipped the pages and started to read the characters names​ one by one untill it caught my eye. Cesar Vakaracia, second male lead?

"Wonwoo, is there something wrong?" She asked me worriedly. Heun must've noticed my change in expression.

"If you don't like it then I can take-"

"No, I like it" I cut her off abruptly before she can even complete her words.

I gotta read this book no matter what. If this book turns out to be what I'm imagining it to be then I'd really have to go back.

"Really?" She asked suspiciously.

"Really" I said and smiled.

"Heun, it's alright If I take this book right?" I asked while smiling innocently.

"Yes of course"She beamed.

I looked at her innocent smile and listened to everything that she had to say about how her day was and how her dad won the video game the other day which she taught him.

Honestly all I wanna do is stay with her forever...

The next day I went to the maple tree where Heun and I first met. I didn't expect her to be here. She usually hates it when it is chilly and just lays around in her home basking herself in all the available warmth .

She was writing something on the tree and I got closer to take a look.

"What are you doing?"I asked from behind her and she turned around with eyes widened. Gosh the scarf was not only covering her neck but also her mouth and lower portion of her face. Can she even breath property?

I tried to readjust the scarf.

"Wonwoo, you're here?" She asked a bit surprised.

"Yep, I had free time so I decided to come here" I said nonchalantly and walked towards her gazing at what she had scribbled on the tree.

"Where's my name?" I asked. She wrote her name and her father's name but she didn't write mine..It kinda angers me.

"Uh- well I'll write it down now"She quickly began to write my name beside her father's.

"Not there. I want my name beside yours"I said while he tracing my fingers on her scribbled name.

"Eh ? Alright" She scribbled my name alongside hers. I smiled at this.

I waited for her to turn around after scribbling my name. I heard that she was hanging around with Sung ho. I never liked that guy like what's so great about him anyways and why is he always trying to stick to my Heun.

"You've become taller than me"She turned around and said with a small pout.

I chucked. She was taller than me when we were young so it's kinda understandable as to why she's pouting.

"Blame puberty" I said putting my arm on her shoulder. She's just way too cute.

"Puberty doesn't do anything to your brain? I can still see that you are an idiot" She said while poking my forehead.

No matter how many years have passed she still manages to annoy me.

I flicked her head.

"Ouch" she let out a small yelp. Maybe I should've just kissed her forehead instead.

"It's rude to talk like that to your elders" I said with a smirk.

"Hey! We are of the same age" She grumbled but soon chuckled.

I wished things stayed like this but I really gotta go back to my world. The book Heun gave me contains future of my world.

"Heun, I'm sorry but I have to go away for some while" I said while cupping up her cheeks.

While looking at her dark chocolate eyes I really don't wanna go anywhere but just stare into them all the time. But I gotta stop the monster attack.

"What do you mean? Are you going back to your parents?" She asked in a low feeble voice.

It broke my heart to see her so vulnerable but I just  nodded my head.

"I'll be back soon. I promise" I pressed my forehead against hers while she stood there teary eyed.

I'm sorry Heun...I have to do this.

"It's a promise, Wonwoo. Don't forget" She said slowly. I just wanna embrace her and never let her go. I just wanna confess my feelings right this instant.

"I won't ever forget" I said while pulling her into a tight hug.

Just wait for me Heun. When all of this is over I'll let you know about my feelings. Wait for me until then...

We stayed there like that for a while.

If only things went the way we want them to.

I went to my uncle's shop here. He isn't really my uncle though. He's just someone who picked me up when I arrived here.

"Ahjussi? " I called after him seeing that he's unloading boxes from a van.

" Ah... You're here?..Now come on help me with this stuff"He said signalling me to join him.

I helped him by carrying his stuff from a van to an old building near roadside.

"Do you like this place? I'm planning to make it a Japanese restaurant" He said while looking around.

"I like it here. It's cozy" I replied genuinely.

"Mmhmm. Looks like you have a good eye just like me. " I chuckled at this.

" Um? Ahjussi?" I called him.

"What is it?"He looked at me and asked.

"I'm sorry but I won't be here for a while..." I scratched my neck having no clue how to explain this.

There was silence for a short while.

"Are you going back?"He asked squinting his eyes.

"Well yes but not permanently" I replied looking determined.

"I can see that you've grown up but still what those jerks did to you is unforgivable... If they still pester you just come back here.. Got it?"He told me in an assertive voice but I know that behind his coarse behaviour he genuinely cares about me.

It's understandable as to why he's this protective. When I first stumbled here I was covered in scars and whip marks.

" Yes Ahjussi" I hugged him and thanked him.

"You little brat. Just take care of yourself. Okay? And don't forget to come back"He said annoyed while breaking our hug.

"Of course, Ahjussi"I smiled.

"What about your girl though?"He asked while side eyeing me.

"She will be fine"I replied while thinking about Heun.

"Did you confess?" He looked at me fully and smirked.

"No..not really. I will once I come back"I nervously laughed.

"Goodness. What if she's with someone else when you comeback?"Ahjussi sighed.

"Then I'll just have to break his neck" I grinned while drawing a line on my throat with my thumb.

Ahjussi just gave me a hard slap on my back.

"Oye oye.. Where did you learn such things huh?"He looked angered by my words.

"I'm sorry, Ahjussi. If she finds someone then I'll just have to leave.."I replied truthfully. It's true that I'll be heart broken if she finds someone but still I'll be happy for her.

"The make sure to comeback soon..you damn prick"He grumbled annoyed.

I left soon after to my real world. There were many twists and turns but nevertheless I couldn't find any links regarding the monster attack. My fear was increasing as all the events in the novel was unwinding in front of me.

I came back to meet Heun. Firstly I went to see Ahjussi. Even though I just left for three years , nine years had passed in this world. I wondered if Heun still remembered me but I had to fulfill our promise.

I went to see Ahjussi first and saw that the once new Japanese restaurant now was old and packed with customers.

I wonder if Ahjussi remembers me...Nine years huh?.. I still have so much to learn about this universe and my powers.
