Naina was busy decorating their room, carefully hanging the decorations and setting up the cake with the message "We are having twins." She was excited but slightly nervous, knowing that Rivaan could walk through the door any moment, and she hadnât finished everything yet.
The doorbell rang, and she thought it was Rivaan, arriving earlier than usual. She quickly moved to the door, still with a few things left to finish. However, when she opened it, she was surprised to see her mother standing there, holding a small basket filled with some of Naina's favorite Bihari dishes that her Masi had sent from the U.S.
Seeing her mother warmed Naina's heart, and she welcomed her inside with a smile. They chatted briefly as her mother made herself comfortable in the guest room. Naina, though, was still waiting for Rivaan to come home, eager to tell him the news about the twins. She hadn't even shared the big surprise with her mother yet, wanting Rivaan to be the first to know.
As she sat on the couch, lost in her thoughts about how Rivaan might react, the doorbell rang again. This time, she rushed to open it, thinking it was finally him. But when she pulled open the door, her smile faded instantly.
Standing before her were Rivaan's mother and Katie, both with smirks on their faces, Katie's eyes cold and piercing. There was something unsettling in the way they looked at her, and Naina's gut twisted with an uneasy feeling. Why were they here? And more importantly, where was Rivaan?
It was already 7 p.m., and he was supposed to be home by 5 p.m. Why hadn't he come yet?
