She happily finished work and went straight to the hotel where Winnie and the others were staying.

Winnie was on the phone with Wilhelm on the suite’s bedroom balcony while Xavier was taking a shower.

Therefore, nobody heard Lisanne when she knocked on the door.

However, it did attract Lucas’ attention, as he was staying next door.

Lucas opened the door and stared speechlessly at his sister, who had heavy dark circles under her eyes.

“Oh my gosh, have you gone crazy from all the experimenting? Why are you banging on the door in the middle of the night? Security’s going to come if you keep this up. Why didn’t you just ring the doorbell? Is that just a decoration for you?”

Lisanne replied, “Oh, right! I forgot about the doorbell as I was too excited. I must have lost my mind.”

She then pressed the doorbell as she spoke.

Lucas felt a pang of heartache for her when he saw how worn out she was. “They told you it wasn’t urgent. Why did you work so hard? Your health matters too, you know? Just look at you. How many hours of sleep—”

However, Lucas was cut off before he could finish speaking.

“It doesn’t matter! What matters is that we finally made a breakthrough in our research! I can’t wait to tell Winnie about the good news!”

Just then, Winnie opened the door.

She immediately broke into a smile when she heard Lisanne’s and Lucas’ voices. “Come on in.”

However, she was interrupted by Xavier before she could finish speaking.

“Winnie, who is it?’

Winnie quickly replied, “It’s Lisanne and Lucas. Lisanne says she has good news for me. You can take your time in the shower. We can handle ourselves.”

In other words, this new radioactive element can cancel out the side effects of the Alpha radioactive elements on our body. We have a chance now! But it’s very hard to extract the element itself. My professor and I have used up most of it during our experiments in the lab, so now, we need to look for these elements. The more we have, the better.”
