Chapter 1497 Sudden Change
The person continued, âIn the afternoon, there were a few thugs who tried to mess around with him. But
right before we had the chance to intervene, the kid had already finished all of them on his own. His
moves were quite impressive.â
What? Solomon stopped in his tracks. Counterattack? Did I just hear that a ten-year-old finished some
thugs? But, surely, it wasnât a serious fight.
As Solomon was already arriving at his house, he hung up the phone and entered the house.
âDarling, youâre back?â Ichika was already done preparing spaghetti and happily waiting for Solomonâs
arrival.
âYes.â Solomon smiled and handed over his notebook and jacket to Ichika.
Shortly after, they were both seated at the dining table.
âDarling, who was it you were on the phone with just now? You seemed intrigued while on the phone,â
Ichika asked curiously.
Solomon took a few sips of his soup. âIt was from the people over at Viviâs.â
âHuh?â Upon hearing that, Ichika stopped eating abruptly, and her eyes widened. Worried, she
continued, âDid something happen? Is Vivi okay?â
âYes, sheâs fine. It was about a little boy named Kurt. Heâs the one I told you about before. A distinctive
child that the people at Oceanic Estate sent over to study with Vivi,â Solomon briefly explained.
Ichikaâs curiosity grew upon hearing that. âYeah? What about him?â
âI was told that he has amazing fighting skills. So I was thinking, perhaps heâs not even a distinctive child,
but instead, heâs someone Sebastian specifically sent over to protect Vivi.â
âWhat?â Ichika was shocked. âSuch a young boy?â
Solomon nodded. âThatâs not unusual. Back then, all of the members of SteelFort were recruited when
they were around Kurtâs age. After their training, theyâd go on and become elite assassins for the Hayes
family.â
âSo, you suspect that Kurt could be from SteelFort?â Ichika was indeed a sharp-witted woman as she
understood Solomon right away.
Surely, heâs only ten and yet, possesses such skills. That must be it. Solomon didnât investigate the
matter further. Because if Kurt was sent by that man at Oceanic Estate, there was no reason for him to
speculate.
He then told those two subordinates of his from SteelFort over at Yartran to act as though nothing had
happened. He also instructed them to pull out from there. Not too shabby, compared to my men.
However, a piece of bad news arrived at Oceanic Estate three days later.
It was Edmund who went to find Sebastian personally. âSebastian, something happened at the school.
There was a girl, Elaine, she died. Did you guys hear about it?â
âWhat?â Sebastian was stunned. Sasha was flabbergasted too. Coincidentally, Jonathan was nearby
taking a stroll in the garden. He heard about it as well.
âHow did it happen?â Sebastian asked.
âThere was an accident at an event. And the person who caused the accident was Kurt!â Edmund then
showed them a series of texts he received from a friend over at Yartran. Besides that, he also disclosed
an investigation report done by the police on the accident.
Kurt? How could it be Kurt? Sasha was shocked. âHow could it be? Kurt is only a young boy. What sort of
an accident could he have caused? This is absurd!â
Jonathan couldnât believe it as well. âAre they stupid?â
Both Edmund and Sebastian remained calm and silent.
A moment later, Edmund calmly suggested that they should find out more from the people at Yartran
about what happened.
He then sent a text to his friend. Not less than ten minutes later, he received a phone call from Yartran. It
was Vivian.
âDaddyâ¦â Vivian was crying uncontrollably.
Sebastianâs heart ached upon hearing that. âAll right now, Daddyâs here. Everything will be fine, Vivi.â
âOkay, I-Iâll stop crying now. I knew Daddy would come and rescue Kurt. D-Daddy, you have to come
here fast. I canât let them keep Kurt away. He had nothing to do with what happened to Elaine.â Although
Vivian was still sobbing, she toughened herself up and begged Sebastian.
Vivian then added, âKurt didnât cause the accident to happen. That night during the Halloween event,
everything was going fine as Kurt and I got all dressed up and went over to the event. But once we
arrived, Elaine and Helena showed up out of nowhere and confronted us. That was when the scrimmage
happened. How could they blame Kurt for that?â Vivian kept wiping her tears as she was trying to
explain.
At that moment, Sasha took over the phone. She couldnât bear to hear her daughter cry. Furthermore,
Vivian had always been the most well-protected in the family. âVivi, itâs Mommy. Donât worry. Mommy and
Daddy will get this settled, okay?â
âOkay.â Vivian was relieved.
