Waking up in the night, I turn over and don't see Azrael laying in my bed where he was a few hours ago, when I first fell asleep. Turning over and then sitting up, I look around for him, my heart beating a little quick, when I hear some sound from the bathroom that connects to my bedroom.
Letting out a breath of relief, I get up from my bed and walk over to the bathroom, where the door is open slightly and I see Azrael behind the sink.
"You alright?" I ask as I tap the door.
"Oh, yes," replies Azrael as he sees me in the mirror, "don't worry. I just wanted to wash my mouth."
"Did something happen?" I ask as I step into the bathroom and come up behind him, finding my hands on the sink on either side of him.
"Oh, nothing important," says Azrael, "I just had I think some lint on my lip and I wanted to wash it off."
"Oh, that's good," I say, and then move my hands from the sink to his waist, and put my nose down near his collar-bone.
"What're you doing?" asks Azrael as he shivers a little.
"Loving you," I say, with a little smile and chuckle, "what else?"
"Oh," says Azrael as he blushes, "I like that."
"I couldn't bear it if you didn't at all like what I do," I say as I kiss his neck before straightening up and setting my chin on the top of his head.
"Don't worry," says Azrael with a smile, "I like it. A lot."
"Do you have to go to work tomorrow?" I ask, thinking how he does still have a job.
"I think tomorrow is Saturday," says Azrael, "or it might be today, as I don't know the time right now."
"Next time you have work," I say as I lead him out the bathroom and to the bed, "I'll go with you."
"You'll come back?" asks Azrael.
"I will," I say with a nod while laying down with him still in my arms, "I'm still your assistant, and even if I wasn't, I want to be around you to make sure that you are well, and I can't do that with being away."
"Do...do you think there's a future where...if we are, say, got along well," says Azrael, "you would work with me still? Or...anything else?"
I smile, thinking how Azrael's is too shy to say a certain topic, but hints at it.
"If we married, which I want to," I say as I pull him to my chest, "I'd work with you, anyway possible."
Azrael is tense, but then relaxes, and then says a thank-you into my chest. I hum out, and smile, nuzzling his head.
"Do you want to marry me?" I ask curiously.
"I...I never thought about it, but hoped for it," says Azrael quietly, "if...if that happened, then there's nothing more I could ask for. There's so much I have, but I couldn't care for everything except for you."
"I don't have much, but you seem to fill that lacking void," I say, "I just want you."
"Thank you," says Azrael again.
"You're welcome," I say, and pull him closer, falling asleep with him.
