“Marie,” Annika’s voice was soft and sweet.

Mariela liked Annika and smiled, “Hey, Annika.”

Annika was playing with Bryce’s phone and accidentally sent the video call.

Angelica, beside Mariela, heard Annika’s voice and leaned closer, greeting, “Annika!” “Angel, hi,” Annika smiled back.

Angelica moved closer, her baby–faced features enlarging on the screen, very cute. Angelica asked sweetly,“Annika, when will you come to my house to play?” Annika replied,“Tomorrow is Saturday. I’ll ask Bryce to take me to your house, okay?” Angelica replied, “Okay, I’ll ask my mom to make delicious food for you.”

Annika said, “I want to eat the bear cookies she made last time.”

“Okay, I’ll tell my mom to make bear cookies tomorrow.”

Annika and Angelica chatted animatedly. Mariela handed the phone to Angelica, letting her have a video chat with Annika.

After ten minutes, Bryce appeared on the call.

Angelica handed the phone back.“Marie, I’m done talking to Annika. Bryce wants to talk to you.”

Mariela took the phone, and Bryce’s face appeared.

He smiled, “Sorry, Ms. Logan, I gave the phone to Annika to watch cartoons, and she accidentally sent you a video call. Did I disturb you?”

“No.”

“Then I’m relieved.”

Mariela smiled, “Annika is very cute. Angel likes playing with her, and I like her too.”

Bryce smiled gently, “Angel is also very cute. I heard Annika say she made plans to play with Angel tomorrow. I’ll drop her off, is that okay?”

Mariela replied, “Of course.”

“Alright, I’ll bring her over in the morning. I also have a few cases to discuss with you.”
